Some tea about the songs because I still remember the drama from back then haha - Back to December: about Taylor Lautner, I think it was the first song she’s apologized for breaking someone’s heart (its usually the other way back) - Dear John: about John Mayer, they dated briefly, did a collab song, didn’t end well, he described the song as “cheap songwriting” and accused her of portraying him as a villain, wrote a response song. - Better than revenge: About Camilla Belle (actress). Taylor used to date Joe Jonas and he broke up with her to be with Camilla, the line “show me how much better you are” is as a response of a Jonas Brothers’ song called Much Better that says “Got a rep for breaking hearts, now I’m done with superstars and all the tears on her guitar, I’m not bitter / Now I see everything I’ll ever need is the girl in front of me, she’s much better” (he changed it to country stars once and Taylor has a song called Teardrops on my guitar). The Joe/Taylor drama was huge, I couldn’t possibly write everything but it was JUICY. - Last Kiss: about Joe Jonas also, he broke her heart (it’s all good, Holy Ground on RED is about him and they are friendly now) - Innocent: about Kanye West after the VMAs incident. Kanye and Taylor were friends for a few years and everything was forgiven and good until Kanye released his song “Famous” claiming him interrupting her winning speech was the reason she got so famous. Hell broke loose after that but we got so many Reputation songs from that feud. - Enchanted: about Adam Young from Owl City, apparently they talked through emails and she wrote a song about when they met, he wrote her a response of this song but it all ended up being just platonically. I think that’s the juiciest I can recall but yeah, everything is so detailed and personal because she wrote every single song on this album by herself, it has some of my favorites by her EVER: Long Live, Enchanted, Never Grow Up, Dear John.
Oh and Speak Now was supposedly about Hailey Williams’s experience with her ex who was getting married and she felt like going to the wedding and speak now. I can’t remember where I heard it but I do remember reading it somewhere.
Just to put it out there... Taylor did not interrupt a wedding. The song is written from the perspective of Hayley Williams of Paramore ( a friend of hers) who saw her ex-boyfriend getting married, so Taylor imagined a version of the story where she interrupts the cerimony!
Long Live is for her fans. In the message she had in her lyric book, she said "for you" meaning for her fans. She's saying she knows one day her fans might move on from her and her music and she hopes that even as we move on we'll still remember the concerts and all the good times we had with her.
I will never forget taylor. She never swears unlike other celebs. She's rare! Kind,beautiful inside and out and incredibly talented ♡ ive been listening to her songs my whole life. It cures my depression ♡
But most of the people say..like.. when Taylor won Album of The Year for FEARLESS and everyone talks like.. she has many co-writers.. and Taylor wrote an Album all by herself and named it "SPEAK NOW" .. which spills the tea
When I first heard Speak Now, I instantly knew that this album would and should win Grammy for Album of the Year. When it was time for the Grammys I was so damn disappointed that this didn't even get nominated like WTF. I mean no offense to Fearless but this album was definitely better deserving of the Album of The Year title. And not to mention that she wrote this whole album by herself. She doesn't need a cowriter.
I still feel kinda weird that Fearless won AOTY instead of The Fame!! Not that it's bad (the opposite), but compared to Taylor's other albums is not really in the top. For me the albums that should have won AOTY are RED (Amazing lyrics, combination of Pop, rock, country), Rep (EVERY SECOND IS ICONIC) and ofc Folklore (Do we even need to say anything?)

I think "Enchanted" will always be my favorite! Actually, after this album was released i had 3 relationships and the meaning of the songs kept changing for me hahaha! I remember dedicating Enchanted for a 2012 boyfriend and now I think about my actual boyfriend and it fits perfectly! Taylor is an extraordinary artist. She can make me forget about all the problems(which I have quite a few of at the moment) or bring me to tears. And it’s in the more perfect, nostalgic way... I went to her reputation concert this summer. It felt like a dream! I still can’t really believe I was there...

I think you would like Taylor's single 'Ronan' She wrote it in dedication for a little boy who died of cancer who was obsessed with Swift. She wrote it mostly from the viewpoint of the boy's mother and how Taylor thinks she must have felt. It's so emotional and all proceeds of the song wen to cancer research

The fact that this album is 10 years old and Taylor still isn’t even at the age John Mayer was (32) when she wrote dear John about him is so weird. (She was 19 he was 32, ugh, she deserves better. I bet she looks back now and she is like wtf was I thinking. But he made for great music thooo :)

This album deserves SO much more recognition and appreciation lyrically. The talent she exudes in every project is astounding but this one in particular (and Red!) is magical.
Fun fact: every single Katy Perry song she wrote herself. She may have had a few co-writers here and there but she always writes her own stuff. She has even wrote songs for other people such as Britney Spears, Ariana grande, nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, etc. she’s written black widow!! Which was a killer song. More female artists should get credit for writing their own songs. Both Taylor and Katy are only a couple who do in the industry. We need more artists like them.
You should react to Ronan written solely by Taylor. She was inspired to write this song after reading a blog about how a mother lost her 4yr old son to cancer. She even gave songwriting credits to the mother. All proceeds from the song went to Stand Up To Cancer. And FYI she asked the mother before actually releasing the song.

IN her own words "When you do what I do and you put yourself out there for people to say whatever they want about it there are a million different opinions from a million different people. There's constructive criticism there's professional criticism.. and then there's just being mean. This song is how I deal that situation" Its now grown into this great anti bully anthem especially with the music video. 4. She wrote Enchanted after meeting Owl City singer Adam Young. Yup thats who its about lol Also Long Live is my absolute favorite song from Taylor in general!

Initial favorites: Back To December, Dear John, Enchanted, Haunted, Last Kiss Tracks that grew on me most: Long Live and Last Kiss (yes, I put this here again. Every time I hear this song it gets better and better and better. This one and “All Too Well” are probably my favorite songs by TS)

Better than revenge is actually about an actress who Joe Jonas immediately dated after their breakup (joe called taylor on the phone to end the relationship). Taylor was mad at her for stealing her man and she thought she just wanted to hold grudge on her. But as taylor getting more mature in her songwritings and love life she admitted that she was wrong and unmature for writing that kind of song and apologise for it.
ClearWater 13 All true. It's not a song she would write today. She even wrote a song on Red (bonus track) about being on the flip side of that, where the guy already had a girlfriend and she sent him packing for even suggesting that he and Taylor hook up. But at the time.... at the time the song described how she felt. It took her a while to figure out that if someone could "steal" her boyfriend, then the boyfriend had already exited the relationship even if he hadn't told her about it yet. I doubt she will ever perform the song again, or that it would ever be put on a best of album.

You should watch the Speak Now World Tour, not even react to it 'cause it's really long, like 2 hours but it's definitely worth watching the stories from the songs come to life. I don't know where you can find it because I bought the CD/DVD album back in 2011 but it must be somewhere online.
First off, I AM SO HAPPY YOU FINALLY REACTED TO MY FAVE TAYLOR SWIFT ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!! This album is an under appreciated gem (RED gets ALL the attention for SOME REASON) and it just shows such power and emotion. Plus, this album had songs on it about not just boyfriends past such as Taylor Lautner (Back to December'), John Meyer ('Dear John'.....I am still disgusted he was 31 and she was 18 when they dated), and Joe Jonas ('Story of Us'), but it also had ones that focused on other people such as a music critic ('Mean'), Adam Young AKA Owl City ('Enchanted'), Camila Belle ('Better than Revenge'), and even Kanye West ('Innocent'...such a shame that he had to go and take advantage of her forgiveness). Secondly, 'Mean' is and will always be my favorite Taylor Swift song....it was the song I needed during my days being bullied (but it came out AFTER the fact). But my other faves on this album are 'Haunted', 'Speak Now', 'Innocent', Story of Us', 'Mine', and 'Better than Revenge'. Lastly, can I PLEASE request you listen and react to Niall Horan's album 'Flicker' (I am pretty sure it will go down as my personal album of the year unless Taylor beats it with 'Reputation') and the BEST Demi Lovato album of them all, 'Here We Go Again'? THESE ALBUMS ARE BOTH SUCH GEMS AND DESERVE A REACTION FROM YOU AS MUCH AS THIS ONE DID!!!!
