Crazy in love is stupid good but she hasn’t made anything good in a while. Halo was her biggest hit to date and that was in 2008. She experimented with her sound and it isn’t as good as her old work. What strengths are you referring to for Taylor bc the last tour I went to for her she was struggling to hit several simple notes. While I will admit she has her way with words I wouldnt really consider her a lyrical genius. Most of her songs sounds like something from a teenage girls diary. So essentially nothing special.

Like her mom wanted her to be famous since she was 6 years old having her model for a photographer who works for talent agency. Hiring talent managers to get her acting singing and modeling gigs as a child before she even become a popstar. Her old manager(before Taylor was famous) said her parents were marketing geniuses and would help Taylor" Fake it until she makes it". Building fansites, MySpace music pages and musicians pages way before she even knew how to play the guitar. Even Taylor Swift origin story about how she learn to play guitar is completely different from what her guitar teacher said. Taylor told the media he was a computer repair guy who was repairing his family computer and out of the kindness of his heart decided to teach her a few chores on his guitar and later on she was mostly self-taught. And she tried to sue her guitar teacher for telling his side of the story and spilling tea about her by saying he wasn't allowed to use her name because it's trademarked. He said her parents hired him to record demo CDs originally at his computer store than they asked him to teach her how to play guitar for 2 days each week for 2 years until he quit on his own due to bad experiences with her mom. He said she was like a bull in a China shop and she will freak if you don't drop whatever you do to get what Taylor Want. So far Taylor Swift has a history of using the media to her advantage. Many of her Exes accused her for that by trying to promote her music by dragging their name in the dirt. Also she has a very powerful PR team that even Kris Jenner is envy of and Kris commented multiple times how she wants to work with Taylor's PR team because they are the best of the best.

To be honest, had Taylor not switched out of country genre for pop, we wouldn't be talking about her at all, because there is way more competition in that genre that would leave her in the dust. Carrie Underwood, alone, is a beast to reckon with. Imo. Once Taylor switched to the genre who's studios are known to cater to a target audience (Blonde hair, Blue Eyes, under aged sex kitten with tight and short clothes : Britney, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, (btw, because of how she was inspired to sing like black R&B/Soul artists, notice how Christina's career is no longer promoted) Kelly Clarkson and Pink have more talent in their Pinkies than these girls, and Taylor, have in their whole bodies. I don't think she's overrated. She works hard and even though she has co-writers, her being a performer and vocalist makes up for it. The reason for cowritters is for the music composition and melodies that the individual artists can't achieved which for Beyonce a lot of her songs has complex melodies while Taylor Swift usually plays the same few cords on a guitar and piano in most of the songs she wrote all by herself making a lot of her songs sounds the same. It's another reason Taylor Swift has cowritters because her instrumental playing is very limited. Let just say Beyonce has high standards for her sounds.
