I thought that burning all the witches thing was a metaphor. But then I found the Christian right wingers claiming that Taylor, Lana, Ariana, etc. are actual witches part of the demonic plot in Hollywood. And I made the comment 'We are not going back to the Salem witch trials'. And someone responded, 'Oh yes we are. Get ready'. I ended it with 'Don't bring a torch to a gunfight'.

I fucking love that this is one of y’all’s favorite songs now because it’s Taylor clapping back and being a strong woman. Way too many people hate on her for that exact reason, so hearing y’all say that made me happy. I don’t expect everyone to like her music, but I do expect everyone to treat others with respect. Celebrities are real people with real feelings, and no amount of money makes up for some of the things said about women in the music industry.

Well hi - I'm genx and I grew up reading books & listening to the radio, but that said this song has taken me to a deep deep part of old fairy tales that I read as a young girl - plus more. It's a fantastic ride through little red riding hood, who's afraid of Virginia Wolff (visually) and the circus, oh my the circus lol - I can't wait for the music video - hands down my fav song on the album so far - the music videos always amp it up 20 notches for me but I digress, her brain is a national treasure :-D

You know what the funniest thing is? Even before the album was dropped there were a few famous people hate shadowing the album for some small sentences she had posted. It was just a few random sentences out of contest, that we literally did not know nothing about. Karma is TS on the top and people have to crack their necks to catch her up.

This song is soooo good !!! You guys should watch the live performance at the Eras Tour in Paris, it was the first time she played it during her tour and I was lucky to be there, it's one of the most insane performance she ever put on omggg i couldn't believe my eyes !!! (the whole TTPD set was crazy, the drums during The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and the whole I Can Do It With a Broken Heart performance was insaneeeee)

The music industry is an absolute twat when it comes to how it treats young wet behind the ears artists, Taylor is changing that for the next generation, it’ll be pretty damn hard now for label execs to do what they’ve always done, the selling of her masters was just absolutely terrible and her getting them back was genius. The men she’s dated that treated her badly because they could, the haters that have hurled insults because they had no better argument, the jealous fellow artists that have mocked her because they were scared she’d overpower them, the media that had no idea they were dealing with a better writer than they could ever be with their trashy articles, the likes of West/Kardashian just telling lies that they never ever dreamed they’d be called out on, yep they’ve all made her who she is today and look where she is and where they’re not. My grandma used to say to me “be careful who you hurt on the way up, because they’ll slaughter you on the way down”, she wasn’t wrong, Taylor is slaying everybody that treated her badly whilst she was climbing her way to the top‼️

There’s a whole contingent on the far right who say she’s a sorceress who casts spells in her music… pretty sure that’s where the line, “so I leap from the shadows and I levitate down your street…” comes from; also the line about putting narcotics in her songs. To me, the second verse is talking about how people claiming to be her fans think they should have control over how she lives her life. After her split with Joe Alwyn, it was rumored she was dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy and people were freaking out, saying she shouldn't do that bc he's been involved in a lot of controversy. That's what I get from "at all costs, keep your good name", because her "fans" didn't care about her feelings, just that she suited their idea about what her image should be.
