TAYLORMADE M4 DRIVER MY OPINION 

That first shot with the ball disappearing into the cloud was brilliant. Another great review. I'm still hitting fairways with my 2016 M2...changed my game!

Valid point on the tolerances. The retail drivers can be +/-1 from the advertised loft so I am doubtful they can get the high toe and low heel within +/-0.5 unless their QC department is working overtime.

I bought an M4 driver recently and I am very happy with it in fact it’s probably the best driver I have ever had. I don’t think that many people buy it on the basis of the twist face technology they buy it because it’s a brilliant club and I think the best available at the moment.

I tested the M2 against the M4 and ended up buying the M2. I hit it better on the launch monitor, and it was about $200 cheaper. I absolutley love my M2! Best driver Ive ever owned, period. Great video Mark as always. Cheers homie🏌🏻‍♂️⛳🖖

Totally fair review. As with any manufacturer...to claim a product as being “game changing” will rightly welcome skepticism. That being said, this review remains fair and honest. Top vid 👌

I think TaylorMade owe you an apology. Fair and honest review. Twist face looks like a gimmick to me but that’s just my opinion. I’ll be sticking with my 7.5 degree mizuno driver. TaylorMade do make great clubs, I think your saying that you agree with that. Hopefully they keep doing this and give me a reason to give up my shiny blue mizuno.

Well Mark, I got one , for me it out performed all the others after a fitting ,gave me an extra 20 yards and good dispersion over my previous XR16 driver , Liked the look , liked the feel and sound, loving your honest reviews and format I’m a 65 year old 20 handicapper who can on occasions shoot mid seventies ( just inconsistent , really need to improve my chipping ) Playing Titleist AP3 irons 4-PW , SM7 wedges , Titleist H1 rescue , M4 3wood and driver targeting getting to low teens this year

Great review. Very fair. Have tried it and like you said great club! But game changing ‘twist face’ technology not for me. Not enough to tear me away from my Mizuno JPX 900!

As far as looks go, in my opinion the TM M3 and M4 are the prettiest out there. I even really like the BMW-ish M-inspired color scheme they're using. Wouldn't personally bother at all about the twist face, but I reckon it's overall a top of the line performing driver. If I find it in the family budget to invest in a new driver this year, the TMs will definitely be two of the first I'll try out. But, I'll probably stick to my old Cobra for a while more.

2016 M2's are selling for $200 brand new in the plastic on ebay.

Numbers were so similar to my M1 that it just felt like $400 I didn't need to spend. One thing I did find with it was I struggled to shape it, whereas i can move my M1 fairly easily - maybe it was more in my head than the drivers head

Im still going to game my brand new AEROBURNER 12 degree launch... With R11s r.i.p phenom shaft in it Im guessing averaging 300yard carry....well keep you post on the results 😉

Having hit the M3, I feel that if I hit it anywhere but dead center, it felt odd. Dead in a way. No feel, but had forgiveness. Was a strange sensation hitting it toe side especially. Not a bad club, but not one I would look to put in the bag. However, I do like the color scheme better than the black and white of the M1/M2. I personally game a Cobra driver, the King LTD, which has their own twist face, but that is about slight off center hits high and low, not heel/toe. I prefer that. Roll and buldge face tech is nothing new, Mizuno, Ping and Cobra all have experimented with it.

Is it possible to get access to a modern driver with no roll and bulge? I’d love to see the dry data. I’d also be interested whether a custom roll and bulge for a specific player, built around their strike patterns, would make any noticeable difference in trajectory? Has any company made a club from scratch for one player, their colour preference, shaft flex and length, head size, weighting, face shape.. surely we aren’t far away from tour players getting fit down to the last detail for every club in the bag.

Good honest, fair review and opinion as always. Nothing TM should ever be worried about. Perhaps you not reviewing just sneakily added to their marketing buzz??

The name of the game for TM is to create the illusion of change, when in fact there is non. Anything to get the golfing public to spend more money they don’t generally have, on more things they don’t actually need. Cheers.

Nice review Mark, I think drivers today are a lot like putters. Since drivers are controlled to spring effect tolerances they can only really sell us on forgiveness, looks and sound/feel. I look at putters the same way you could have the most forgiving putter or the one that claims there grooves get ball rolling same speed across the face ect but if it's ugly if it doesn't fit your eye will you putt better with it?? Idk just a thought, keep up great reviews!!!

Do you think twist face is better tested over a long period of time? If you have been missing your drives left for years and after 2 years you look at your game golf stats and realize. wow I hitting the ball not as far left now. So I’m hitting 2 more fairways a round

Here's a question. If twist face is game changing and analysis proves it to be so according to Taylormade, does this mean that every single driver from them from this day forward will have the twist face? If it doesn't, does that mean it wasn't game changing to being with? What will be the next game changer next year? Enquring minds want to know...lol.

There's a reason cobra was using "twist face" before TM and didn't use it for marketing, it doesn't work. And if it does its going to be in a very limited set of circumstances.

Quality driver and even bettter quality Crossfield delivery. Drivers are just staying the same. Player delivery will always beat new technology.

I will stick with my Taylor Made M2 2016 I think. Nothing special to see here!!

In my OPINION, that was a fair review, #customshop. Wouldn't be a vlog without the name drop.

I don't get the issue with TaylorMade...I really don't. But I do like the review!! Sorry....your opinion on the M4 ;)

So in a nutshell the performance is similar to that of every other driver taylormade have released in the last 6 years yet sheep....I mean people will all rush out to buy it and swear that they've gained 20-50yrds with this driver.

Tried it, bought it. As a 11 handicap golfer, I've seen a few yards improvement (6-10 yds better than my Aeroburner) in average distance after about 6 rounds. I seem to be hitting more fairways and have fewer big misses left and right. It just seems more consistent and my GameGolf stats also confirm this after a limited trial. I should add that this club was purchased at a golf store where I received some advice on my swing and was "fitted", though its a stock 10.5 deg driver with a regular shaft so there were no customized adjustments to the driver. Minor improvements in consistency and distance could be due to improved skill and conditioning this season, but whatever, I am enjoying playing the M4.

I love my m4. Don’t really see any improvement with twistface but is a great performing driver none the less. Much like you said in the video.

Went for a fitting last week, tried a few different manufacturers but M4 came out by far best on test. I'm not seeing huge differences in "twist face" but I was hitting it loads straighter than my current SLDR, which was to be expected. But as a 14 handicapper, who loses most of my shots due to irrattic tee shots, I feel this is gonna help loads. Plus 111mph club head and 167mph ball speed has got to be good!

Credit where it's due. You could of absolutely slated that driver but once again a fair and honest review. What were TM so bothered about 🤔? If anything most people having watched that would be more inclined to go and test it for themselves!!

Can they build to that tolerance? No. There’s a reason their tour issue heads are measured for every metric possible before going to a pro’s bag.

And why wouldn't they give you one to test originally? A good review, like a few other Indy ones I've seen, can't fault it, but game changer - I don't think so! 0.5 degree change, ain't going to reduce my 12.8 handicap. Back to the range........ oh well, here's looking forward to M5 and M6 soon!

Another good opinion bra. I have the 2016 & 2017 M1 drivers, after hitting both I still believe in my opinion the 2016 M1 driver is the best they've built in this series. Bare in mind that due to COR testing which has been around since the early 2000's all gains will be minimal. I like & I use roll & bulge, I don't like the look of the new M3 or M4 so I won't be changing to twist face anytime soon.

Roll and Bulge sounds like it's describing my body shape not a golf club.

The thing that seems to get bashed with the m3/m4 is TM’s marketing (which is ridiculous imo), not the performance or test results of these drivers. Mark’s review was consistent with this. Mark did not mention that twist face ever hurt his drive, only that it did not help it in a noticeable way....just a curious observation. Another good driver from TM.

I have been to the golf shop about 4 times since the m3 and 4 have come out. I can tell you that the twist face does nothing. I still like them, but your just buying a regular driver, nothing fancy

Mark. You're an awesome personality and golfer but when you hit that one so fat? Dude in Canada we call that a Beaver pelt! Lol, all in fun. My goal this year is to break 90 with new Aeroburner irons (4-AW), an R7 draw driver and an R11 4 rescue and Ping G25 sand wedge. Entering this season at about 102 average ... but haven't played in 10 years.

Mark can u confirm that this is your opinion of the TM driver? Being as they don't actually want a review. And is this your opinion or the opinion of someone who could own a custom shop putter? And the answer to your question is yes...than can manufacture to half a degree.....nobody can tell so it doesn't bloody matter but it can be done 👍

HALF A DEGREE??? From the look of those large plastic Twist-Face promos that were being sent out to people as advance promotional materials, I expected more than a 1/2 degree!

This was honest and good rewiew from "Titleist" player 😉 I think it's good club, but nothing specially new. I will continue playing with my old Taylormade aeroburner and save my money 👍
