AEW Unrestricted is a great interview websites, I love getting the backstage insight on anything and all AEW related information and personal. Taz is a brilliant wrestling mind, his ECW days were highly decorated. Wasn't given the best hand in WWE, he got more name recognition, but he wasn't used to his full potential during his prime years in WWE, but his commentary work was stellar. Taz gets this business and he knows had to put over other talent and give them legit name recognition. I'm so glad to see Taz is in AEW because he is a great talent, great commentator, coach etc.

It was only later I found out he got injured that's why he does commentary. At the very least, he had a good run. Already on the way up when he got injured --or near the top already. Tazz... Best Color Analyst in the Biz. Glad that when Excalibur and him do AEW Dark; Excalibur becomes a very good Play-by-Play guy.

The event Taz is talking about was indeed in Chicago. It was Anarachy Rulz at the Odeum in Villa Park, IL. 9/19/1999. I know because I was there for it! I actually waited in line at the Odeum to buy tickets for the show!

I always loved ECW and Taz was always one of my favorites along with Sabu, RVD, Dudley boys, New Jack, Sandman, Al Snow, Shane Douglas, Justin Credible, etc, etc, etc 😂 I could go on and on and on lol

I love these AEW. The fact that you allow your employees to speak freely is amazing. I know they still have to watch what they say, obviously, but this does not happen in WWE. I am still a WWE fan, just like a lot of us viewing, but I think that TNT and AEW have definitely put a dint in the wrestling world. I strongly believe by 1-upping the competition (trend setting), you are making the world of professional wrestling a better place. Thank you AEW and TNT!

They put the guest on the side, so they are forced to look at Aubrey when they talk, last episode Tony was on one side and Aubrey on the other and guest in between, last episode Brandi only looked at tony

She was literally getting in the way of Tony and Tazz being able to see each other at the start. Tony's asking a question and has to look at the back of her head. She needs to back away from the mic too, or production can switch her mic off 😅

WWE did acknowledge Kurt being in WWE in the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD. They discussed the crucifixion as well.

So I'm just shy of 10m here, and what Taz is saying about the difference in how he's had to be on commentary gave me a moment to pause. We're what, 6 months into AEW on TV? There's no heel commentator, no face. There's no haha-funny commentator (though you could argue guests do that, cause holy crap Jericho and Vickie!). The commentators are just that - commentators. JR is the old school 'call it on the fly', Tony's the play-by-play and seller, and Excalibur is the color commentator for Dynamite. Then on Dark you got Taz and Excalibur, who's styles work well together to bring all 3 styles together. So in this thinking, I hope that Tony Khan and the EVPs (hell of AEW + the whole commentary team) NEVER change this up. Have your guests be the odd 'heel' or 'funny' ones. But keep the essence of the commentary as this triad.

They get the wrestlers as special guest heel commentators which works really well

AEW should find a way to get The Taz Show back up and running. Unfortunately it wouldn't be totally the same as before but I don't care. I want Tazuuuuuuuu to be back on air so we can hear from Willy Chuck and Janitor Joe again and all the OG guys. Where are my old Taz Show fans at?

Man I’m outdated, that’s why Taz left his The Taz Show podcast because he’s doing his stuff with AEW now. I’m gonna miss him talk about WWE or sometimes blast WWE.

Also, it was Living Dangerously 98. Because they ended their feud at Heat Wave 98 in Dayton, OH. Taz t-boned Bam Bam through the ramp. Bam Bam got up, starts walking to the ring. Taz gets up, signals the Tazmission, RUNS after Bam Bam, and slaps on the Tazmission, the Kata Ha Jime, and taps Bam Bam out.
