It's 2022 and I still love my Nova Delay. I was looking at Strymon's El Capistan V2, which is also great and easy to use, but the Nova Delay seems to do everything just as well AND it can store up to 9 presets... Plus you can pick one up for around $125, versus $379 for the El Capistan.
Not at all - it’s fantastic. Best in effects loop in my opinion, but just solid and sounds awesome. I’ve been using one since 2009 and I just got another one on eBay two days ago.
@@wordofmouth7679 thanks for the reply... Then I must assume that there is a bot of inconsistency in the production of this pedal as I've heard a 50/50 of stories about this issue.
If you’re willing to give up the presets and LED screen, The nova repeater is q great alternative. I’ve owned both and the repeater is a pedal that lets me step on it and just play. There’s also the matter regarding these pedals’ buffer. The nova delay was the original to come out and the nova repeater is a derivative of that pedal. The repeater has a different buffer. The original nova delay was later updated and released as the IB modified pedal.
Hi. I just got my nova ND-1. Would you be able to provide settings for "streets " if possible, as im having some difficulties getting the correct settings? Enjoyed your video. Thank you, cheers mate!
9 Presets? I bought one of these recently used and I really like the range of sounds. Trouble is, the previous owner changed it to just 3 peresets, and I cannot find anyway to reboot it to 9, as advertised. The manual ofeers no clues. Anyone?
My roommate has a timeline, and I have a Nova Delay. As much as I love the ND-1, I think the timeline just trumps it completely. BUT I personally find that it's too complicated. I just want something to *tap tap* bing, bang, boom, play
edwarddlp I looked at the Timeline and the Boss DD-500. They are both vastly superior delay pedals, but...do I really need that? I just want a few presets to get through a set. I don’t need 100+ presets! The ND-1 is working out great!
Yeah, for me I'm actually buying a Nova Delay today as of making this comment. It will be my first delay pedal, because I want something digital with BPM presets and tap tempo, rather than just fiddling with knobs that don't tell you the delay tempo. And as much as I would LOVE to have a Timeline or a DD-500 where i have a vast amount of opportunities with presets and delay types, it's not because of how expensive they are but also I don't want something THAT complicated, where I'd be spending literal days or even weeks exploring and experimenting with what they can do. And I have autism and ADHD so meddling with all of those options would probably give me a massive headache. The Nova Delay just looks like the easiest to figure out, and I imagine that I'll spending the rest of the day experimenting with it, but just not as long. So I'm pretty excited to see what I can make this bad boy do with my specific style 😅
Cool video - How do you set it up for some sort of a Satriani or Vai delay sounds? Those on their great solos - - - What would be the settings for Steve Vai's 'For The Love of God' or Joe Satriani's 'Bells of Lal' - Thanks. Cheers!
It is a good delay. The limitation of 9 presets and the awkward way to change presets is the only setback... No midi... Other than that, it is good. It does not have a true bypass and it effects your tone even when turned off. I still like and use mine. It is currently on my main board. Great rundown Shnobel (as usual)
Lol. It’s been a while since I have had to use those presets because I have the mod. I’ll trust you are right. I will tell you that the mod makes the process more fluid. Keep rockin JSP🤟🏼
I have just sold my X4 and bought Nova :) X4 was stealing far too much space in by pedalboard, therfore I decided to change it with something different.
It seems that the Delaylab is the most complete of them all. But I don't really care about that, I want the best sound possible in the digital and analog presets..
Greetings, I realize this is a very old video, but hopefully you'll see this......I read the manual and it says there's a dual mode option. Any idea how to enable it or what it is?
