The Polara effects are sometimes more subtle but the general sound is organic and well balanced where the HOF sounds muddy in the lower mids and artificial in the higher frequencies.

I've checked up obsessively every comparison between Polara, Hall of Fame 2, Immerse, MXR, RV-6 and chose the Polara for it sounds more natural, rich and edgy to my ear, besides being more versatile and relatively cheap considering all the great value it offers. Thank you very much for your most useful demos!

For guitar it's hands down the no° 1 choice.... For synths I'd prefer the HOF

@@coldwar1977 Why do you prefer the HOF to the Polara with synths? I own a Polara and I'll be buying a small analog synth in a week, so I'm interested in knowing if the two can potentially work well together. I always wanted to try the HOF, but I never got to do it, so I don't know how it would sound with a synth (especially with an analog one).

@@youreallygotmenow4855 hey mate, it's just a taste thing I think. I find the HOF best for bread & butter reverb sounds, while the Polara is better if you want to have "special" and more out there sounds.

For use with my analog synths I vastly prefer the HOF. Wasn't impressed with the Polara when I tried them both side by side for a couple of hours.

Just got the Polara. I love it. The spring is the best sounding spring reverb I’ve heard on a pedal. You can actually do Dick Dale. And I think the halo setting is the best ethereal reverb I’ve used. Not too over the top and sits real nicely with the guitars dry signal.

I own the Polara and what I don't like about it is the text. In a dark enviroment on stage sometimes I make an error when I need to change a setting quickly between songs.

Awesome demo!!! Polara sounds much better, it just has a little something more to each note a clearer shimmer/modulation. I’ve had a tc hof for years now and it sounds exactly like it does in your demo, and every time I try to use it I feel underwhelmed... it just doesn’t seem as lively as the Polara... I’m convinced to switch over to one now!!! Thanks:)

Pretty time consuming, but detailed. Somehow cool, somehow a little narrow due to the loop. I would always like to know the post-rock variations of all reverb pedals, but anyway cool demo! Thx! I find it like this: The HoF is darker more natural and rounder. That suits my sound well. The polara is brighter and the halo shimmer is a ligttle too defuse for my taste. I think it can cause harshness in my setup. Both good. I prefer HoF.

If you like the Mod Reverb, I'm surprised you haven't looked at the TC Trinity T2 Reverb pedal. It has a toneprint slot for a "normal" reverb, but every other one is some sort of "mod" going on, super stuff going on, great for ambient like what you play in your demos!

The comparison unfortunately negated the secondary function in the Polara on modulation where you could actually dial the chorus setting closer to HOF. Its sounded close to the default setting which is a bit more subdued.

I really like the reverb tone that Ford Thurston gets with the Polara. He sets and forgets it on Plate with everything else at noon, tails on. He is not only an amazing guitarist, but his tone is impeccable.

Had both, if you want to tweak and make your own go with the hof but if u don’t want anything just a simple reverb get the polara , spring halo and mod are killer settings better than the settings on the tc

It's a comparison between a cheap pedal (Hall of Fame) and a boutique pedal disguised as a mid-priced pedal (the Polara). Really, there's no comparison. The Polara is 10 times better.

I have been testing both of these out on my board the past couple of days: Polara: Basically has one useful setting to me, Hall, because the decay is actually long enough on this setting. Not one setting on the pedal sounds natural to me, but it has a great high end shimmer so you can actually hear the reverb when you're playing loudly or with other people. This is a very good quality. The pedal also has a modulating sound on every single effect. On top of that all of the effects sound practically identical with some slight tweaks. One just might have longer decay, or a faux spring effect added, etc. HoF: Much, much more realistic sounds. By a lot. Capable of much stronger reverbs with longer decays. More variety. Can get totally out-of-control and shoegazey. The only thing I wish was different was that the tone knob got much brighter. The brightest setting on the HoF tone is like the tone being at 11 or 12 o'clock on the Polara. This is a major downfall because what ends up happening is your tone just gets muddier as you turn the Fx Level up. Not totally satisfied with either so my quest will continue. I think exactly the opposite :HOF sounds unnatural,muddy ,whereas the Polara sounds natural,crisp and cuts great in a recording mix.

This is more helpful than the demo above. Shimmer and comparing the tone is very important. Thanks! I think this demo blew it when it comes to checking out the very functions that set these reverbs apart from other pedals in its class and price-point.

I happen to have both of these pedals. In my opinion, the Polara is more natural sounding. Its hard to explain but you just believe it the moment you hear it. The Hall of Fame definitely has more bells and whistles and can do a bit more.

Polara is a product of the past. You can't buy a new one, as its production was stopped.

When I needed a Reverb I did an A-B comparison in store with the Polara & original HOF. I remember a friend being confused at the time as to why I picked the Polara. But with the amp I was using & my guitar the Polara won hands down in terms of tone and natural sound. I ran the reverb in stereo to two amps a few months back. My drummer came & inspected my pedal board to have a look at when I got a strymon reverb pedal. I suppose that's a big complement to Digitech.

I don't need spring cuz my amp has it, but Polara Spring didn't sound springy at all and the modulated, at least on this video, was hardly distinguishable. But otherwise was smoother, softer even.

Restate what someone else pointed out. The real difference for most of the settings is that the Polara always has some modulation mixed in giving more ambience to the reverb....thus the HofF sounds a bit dryer. In a blind test i can pick out the Polara almost on every setting. Which is better...for me not playing stereo on stage and only sometimes at home and not needing the ambient tone all the time....maybe the HofF.....but then i would want the Polara....so if I get the Polara I would want the HofF....so ....get both......ehehehehehe.

Ryan Lutton that and the flashback 2. I'm pretty happy with my polara reverb so I probably won't trade it for a HOF2 unless your demo just kills it. I'd love to see a flashback 2 demo though as I still haven't settled in a delay. I have the echo machine which is great but I'm looking for a second delay to accompany it. Flashback 2 looks like a potential winner. I was also looking at the Canyon delay by electro harmonix. Seeing a comparison of those two would be perfect.

Both pedals sound great. The Polara sounds more natural but the HOF sounds way more ambient especially on the Mod setting.

The Digitech uses licenced Lexicon algorithms that have been used on 1000s of hit records, that's why it sounds so much better than the TC.

Hm I was thinking of getting the Polara since it had the best sounding "normal" reverbs so if the modulation is what set the RV-6 apart then I will probably stick with getting the Polara. Thanks
