This discussion should have included references to Portugal and the Portuguese american comunity. Cisco Kid clearly says he is the son of a portuguese woman and a father born in San Luis Obispo. It is also implied that he was born in Portugal because he says he ran from Portugal when he was "this big" and he never saw his parents again. His dream in the movie is also to return to Portugal with Tonita.
