Have you ever felt like the odds are stacked against you? Do you feel like you’re just surviving, trying to make the best of a bad situation? Find hope from the story of Ruth in this T.D. Jakes sermon, “Stumbling into the Place.”
After the devastating loss of their husbands and almost everything they’d known, Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi, had returned to the family’s ancestral home in poverty and defeat. They were living day-to-day, Ruth gleaning the scraps from Boaz’ fields.
Have you ever had hopes and plans for your life, but then something comes along and interrupts them? Bishop Jakes assures us that it is not our own plans that bring us into our destiny - it is God’s. God can guide us where we need to go - but often it is not where we planned.
Just like Ruth stumbled into favor and prosperity, so we, too, may stumble into God’s blessing, realizing our destiny despite our best-laid plans!
Bishop Jakes reminds us, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord” and there is a time for “every purpose under heaven.” He encourages us to keep moving so that we do not miss our moment.
If you feel discouraged about the direction of your life, if you feel like your destiny is just out of reach, this message is for you. Watch “Stumbling Into the Place,” and be assured that God’s way is the best way.
