Feel like going for a walk? Come and join Rob as he explores the up and coming neighborhood of Monti. The one place in Rome that Lady GaGA was looking for a place to live and where Julius Caesar took his troops to be entertained by the prostitutes of the area when it was known as Suburra. Rob is later joined by TE Guide Thomas and they go to an underground site that neither had ever seen before. Today Monti is filled with great shops and restaurants and some of the most amazing churches of the city!

These Destination videos are really giving a distinct idea of the different neighborhoods and sites of Rome. Now I would really like to live in Monti, the Jewish Quarter and the Renaissance Rome areas. Also I love how the cocktail at the end matches Rob’s shirt. 😃

'I never realised what I looked like walking downstairs' got me! Rob took me to Valentino's 14 years ago after we did our first training tour of the Foro Romano (he was training me, he's almost as old as some of the stones).

Dearest Ian, thanks for commenting. Im glad someone gets my humor. I had originally added along with that line, "Why didn't anyone tell me?" but we edited it out. Revenge will be had for the comment of being "old as the stones" comment. 😂😂😂😂😂

The church is called San Martino ai Monti. Truly lovely and the underground area was a fantastic hidden treasure indeed!

We were kidding a bit, it was known as a place for ladies of the evening but lots of areas of Rome had that. Monti is totally safe and a great place to stay when visiting the Eternal City.
