The drinking of tea is among the greatest of China's contribution to the world. I have been drinking tea daily throughout adult life and have experienced good health from it, especially a stable metabolism (my weight at age 85 never changed). It is necessary to acquire the taste of tea in the natural form without addition of cream or sugar, to avoid negating all the many natural benefits.

This is great! The more documentaries about tea, the better. But unfortunate editing. Whenever they showed footage, there were captions. These were often unrelated or cut-off, and should have been omitted to prevent distraction. :/

There should be a law that all tea must be made using traditional methods. No machines are allowed and only tools made from the clay, wood or stones are allowed. This assures that cultural heritage is maintained and quality flavours and human rhythms are imbued in the finished product. Feel the rhythm of ancient masters in every cup
@arthas640
@arthas640 5 лет назад
That would massively increase the costs of tea for everyone, even if it would improve the quality. If you want tea like that you can just find it online and order some, people just dont often do that because it's so much more expensive.
@theweatherballoon5376
@theweatherballoon5376 4 года назад
Traditional methods come from a time when tea was only drunk by the higher classes in Asia, monks and those collecting and making the tea. Now it's drunk by everybody, everywhere. It's a nice idea but not at all feasible.

This series is beautiful, thank you for sharing! I do find it entertaining she says it's exhausting picking leaves, because yes it is hard work, but the tea collectors in China are likely in such a peaceful meditative state with the plants they likely don't feel like work. It really reflects the difference between the Eastern and Western mentality of self.

Some people like to read too much into their food. It's like how some wine critics will rant and rave about how amazing high priced wine is, even if you put a low quality wine in a high quality wine's bottle and then serve it to them.
