I teach in NYC! Needless to say our evaluation system is extensive. We have 4 choices, dependent upon tenure status, of how we would like to be observed. The informals are unannounced. They stay for a minimum of 15 minutes per observation. We use the Danielson rubric!

Wow! It's so interesting to learn about the different systems in place for evaluating teachers based on the state. It's nice that they give you choices. We don't have that in my district. "Tenured" teachers get observed once a year unannounced and new teachers get observed twice a year also unannounced. If it's their first year, they also get an observation within the first 90 days on the job. Thank you so much for sharing!

+Pencils and Magic Wands Mrs. Mariely Sanchez , Have you ever thought about doing a video on how you do Class Dojo in Your Classroom ? I like your red stop and green go signs with the only sign that you are missing being like a yellow sign like a warning or yield sign if you will .
