Imagine that morning that the teens that died didn’t say goodbye to their parents, they will not get to reunite ever again. Though I am not in Florida, this has never happened in Georgia. Which is where I live. This makes me so, so, so very sad 😞 😭
I live in Georgia too and Every single morning and really any time I'm going anywhere I make it a habit to say I love you and say bye to my family just incase that's the last time I see them. We shouldn't have to fear for our safety every time we go to school.

Correct me if i'm wrong... but I believe that that school was in a gun free zone, if there were armed "good guys" on scene this shooting would have been less deadly... and gun bans only apply to law abiding citizens, if we banned guns, only the bad guys and police would have them... then I believe incidents like this would happen more often

DaltonErnst dude bullying is primary cause.....has nothing to do with life being bad....when I was young I was bullied cause of my acne. After years of bullying I once brought a gun to school. I was so angry and the kids were so mean and they didn’t care that they were hurting me. They had a lot of joy and laughter out of my pain! So I got to the mental point where I didn’t give a shit about their lives cause mine didn’t matter! I was also being abused at home and the stress was so piled up I couldn’t see anything good in life! I even thought about suicide! Now I changed my mind that day in library class last minute (thank god). Went home and put my moms gun back in closet, And I turned all that hate and anger into motivation! I got through it, I worked out a lot, my acne cleared up, and got really good at fighting! I then joined the army infantry served 3 deployments and life moved on. But the pain is still felt even today and I always worry about my kids in school and I teach them to not bully and respect those less fortunate! If my kids ever take joy (like kids did to me) in picking on another kid I will paddle those asses!!!! Proud of my son who has been sticking up for his smaller friends!!!!!! Don’t ever think bullying has nothing to do with it. Kids don’t go shooting for no reason! Reports indicate this kid had warning signs and kids “joked” about if anyone would shoot up the school it would be him! Well why would it be him do they think?

You know in the 90s kids would have shotguns in the back of pickup trucks during hunting season at school and some would shoot on school property and there were very very few school shootings. Now I live right where the big fire was in December I had to be evacuated I saw it with my own eyes and people want to tell me it was fake.. The problem isn't so much stopping people from buying guns but keeping guns away from idiots and having stronger measures to prevent guns and weapons from entering the school in the first place. And to make sure the people who own them are mentally capable and not borderline insane.

It’s sad that we have to put metal detectors in schools to stop these types of shootings I think it’s a good idea but it cost money which some or most schools probably don’t have
For one thing, it costs a lot of money, and for another, it would constantly have students in bad moods and scared, which would affect their grades and performance in school. While in theory it would work, the school would probably be lazy about it, and there are also multiple entrances in a school. Let's say there is a group of students trying to do a school shooting, and there are metal detectors. One student would go in completely clean, and they would be inside already, where they could go to an area of the fence where they could grab the weapons from someone on the outside. Then the person who is now clean gets in, and the system has been rendered useless. It's sad, but really the way to stop this isn't through getting detectors, and the only thing we can really do is have counselors do their jobs and check on the mental state of their assigned students to see if they have an problems going on. I can’t ever imagine going to school and not knowing if I will leave that day, or see my best friend or my teachers for the last time. One of my high schools I went to there were times that someone did bring in weapons but they never were able to shoot it because there was law enforcement close by.
