Very cool skill you have. Why wasn't it an option to just reattach the legs?

The pads that the legs connect to were physically ripped away from the board, making it impossible.

I was doom scrolling and then I found one of your shorts and then this was the first from your "video" tab. I was so engrossed in this little adventure. Additionally I was contemplating the idea that I had some sentimental data on the drive being repaired and being reunited with those precious pix. BOOM! Now I need to buy some of that gear. What microscope would you recommend?

Was any damage done to the laptop? Good question: when you take apart a PS 4 (slim), is there a place inside where the S/N is also marked?

The customer didn't bring us the laptop. To answer your other question, I believe it's written in the NOR Flash, so if you can dump it, you can read the S/N from there.

@@chasefournier some time ago I had the luck of finding a PS 4 Slim. Took it to an electronics pawn shop, they tested it, it works (needs cleaning!) Has a 1 GB HDD. Not sure what to do with it, so took it back to the pawn shop, they looked at it again, and the S/N label is missing. They won't accept any electronics without the visible S/N. Company policy, as they check to make sure it's not reported as stolen. Thank you 🤓
