I'm a teacher (3rd Grade) and I also have little boys of my own (5 & 6). I loved your story about the trifle. Two boys.....one bathroom, I cry sometimes too. Loved the video!!!!!
Friday night treat. Tina's upload, bottle of red and pizza! It was good to see how you used your fraction packs. I should be marking writing books right now but hey-ho! Teacher wellness and all that. Have a great weekend!
I am a homeschool mom and love how you put your lessons or teaching time in the video so I could see how you teach. You seem wonderful. Thank yuh for sharing
Please never stop being so honest! Your Vlogs make me feel human! This time of year we are all tired! Sometimes with all the work we put in as teachers and just women in general you just want one thing to go right and if it's desert what better!!!
This was an awesome video! I love being able to see how you actually teach a lesson and interact with your students. This was so helpful and informative for someone who is in the process of becoming a teacher. Thank you! Please, please make more videos just like this. We can learn so much from you. You are a great teacher and have a lot of knowledge that needs to be shared to make others better teachers :)
You are Amazing!!!! I really, really enjoy this video!!!! You made me feel that I'm not alone! That we have a great job but it's also very demanding! Thank you for taking the time to include us in one day of your life! Keep them coming, PLEASE!!!!
I REALLY need this today! Feeling that end of the year "can I make it to the last day of school" vibe and it almost brought me to tears today. This left me feeling inspired as watching great teachers can. You are an amazing teacher! Thank you SO much for sharing!!! Sending lots of teacher love from Atlanta, GA!
A Cozy Classroom hi what grade do you teach I just finish 3rd grade and my name is arleth and you are really inspiring me to be a teacher cause I teach my cousin how to do math and words in English lol but I am gonna go to 4th grade after summer I go to Cchs- Centre Elementary school aka Cherokeek country high school I think I am not sure but I love my friends and I think your a very nice Teacher
I always wanted to be a teacher since I was a child, but the talking in front of a classroom aspect has always stopped me...I'm too nervous of a person😞 great video. 😃
You are honestly helping me so much. My associate teacher is so unorganized and is really rude. I love how you teach. And I've gotten some organization tips from you as well.
Tina, I love your videos. You and "Pocket full of Primary" are really helping me get through the year. I am in my last year in becoming a teacher. And my Accociate teacher is so unorganized. All I have learnt from her is what NOT to do. Haha.
Sometimes learning what NOT to do is a great thing to know. Hopefully there is someone good around you to help mentor you though. My assigned Mentor Teacher my first year was useless, but another teacher in the building was like my own personal guardian angel! Loved her to death.
I had a horrible student teaching experience with no support from my CT or university adviser. I left in the middle of my semester. I am desperately wanting to teach, but given that I would have to go through the same adviser makes me not want to. (nearly to my MAT)
Zareena Ali I had the same experience during my teaching credential program. RU-vid was my saving grace. Whatever you do, please link up to someone who can be a good role model for you because there's so much that goes into teaching that you will not learn in a Credential program. Best of wishes to you!
Love love love your Hogwarts banner! My classroom theme was always Harry Potter! Reading Harry to my students was one of my very favorite parts of the day!
Thanks for sharing! It really is helpful observing a classroom. Unfortunately, this type of professional development is not very popular in my school. I really appreciate.
Loved it. Your life parallels mine as a teacher. Some days I miss teaching all subjects but others I am so thankful I only do Language Arts and Social Studies!
I love the dress! It was great seeing you teach again. I hope you will be doing more of these videos. Do you think you will do any more cooking vids? Would love to see one on making of trifle!
Bill is definitely a keeper. How sweet. I loved this vlog. It covered everything and every part of it was interesting and informative... or at least entertaining. :) Loved the trifle story - and I also love trifle.
Hi Tina, I really enjoy your videos. You seem to be an awesome teacher. I would like to know how you keep the pad of writing paper up on your board? It seems so convenient.
i know u did about the dogs a while ago but there is different size poodles a standed poodle and a medium poodle is a minture and a toy poodle is smaller :)
Thanks for being real!!!! I am approaching my forties and my hormones have being haywire!! along with a stressful class - life gets too much, and when you clean your house and your kids mess it up the next day!!! aarrggghhh!! at least I'm not alone! ! hang in there Tina, you are amazing. love your teaching too! I will use some of your ideas☺
Tina Bietler - Oh, sorry. I didn't mean the brand. When I taught high school way back when, I had a projector on a cart that required transparencies and transparency markers. Later, we got Smartboards. What you have is like a camera/projector, right? Really cool!
Hi Tina, loved the video! There's a stationary store that I think you would really like, it's called Jetpens.com and they have amazing pens, pencils, paper and other stuff most of which is from Japan at really good prices! You should check it out.
It might be worth incorporating cold calling into your classroom... Call on kids to answer questions who DON'T have their hands up. I find the pace keeps up and its keeps the kids on their toes. Teach Like A Champion is my saving grace when I teach :)
It's a combination of Sara Lee Pound cake cute into cubes, Jello Vanilla Instant pudding chilled, a tub of Extra Creamy Cool Whip, and then strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Layer it up like lasagna, and top with the Cool Whip. It's not too sweet and it is so light and refreshing. You can eat three bowls worth and not fill full because it is so light.
Don't you think you're putting your ESL kids at a greater disadvantage by not giving them the work at the same time? i would do it the opposite of you, in fact. yes, they don't speak english and it's harder for them to understand the work, but now you're giving the kids who already have the english-speaking advantage extra time to look at things and read it at home. so when they come back to class and you guys talk about the assignment together, they're already pros, whereas the kids who need the extra time to figure out the material are still struggling to comprehend. it makes them feel worse for not understanding when all of the other kids are getting it so quickly and acting like it's simple.
so are mine. in fact, i teach two sections of the transition class between sheltered and remedial ELA. my opinion is the same, regardless of the breakdown of how many are ESL and how many aren't.
