If you have more questions, please feel free to ask below! I enjoyed making this video and would happily do it again! Hope you are having a great and blessed weekend! Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!
I would not make a product of 10 pages and give it away. It takes me way too much work. I just made a resource that has 12 pages for 3-4 grades. It took about 10 hours total with covers, printing it out for editing mistakes, making a preview video, an answer key, etc., and then posting. I'm a perfectionist to a degree and try to make things look super cute, but professional. I love TPT selling and buying, but hard work should be rewarded. If you buy a worksheet online from Educational websites they will charge you $1 to $3 for 1 or 2 pages of someone's hard work. Thanks, Lori for taking on these hard questions. My best seller which I sell for $3 is only 4 pages.
I just found out about TPT and this was super helpful. I love your selling and organizational tips. Thank you for making these videos. You are helping people.
Thanks for the informative video! Would you consider doing a video on how you stay organized? Such as how you organize your files/pictures on your computer/Canva/Google. Also, would you talk more about how to make preview videos for tpt?
Hi Michele, I can make one on organization. It's a bit crazy, especially with all the platforms. I'm definitely not an expert. There is a video on preview videos but I will probably be making another one before Christmas.
I teach mostly physical science (9th grade) and am starting to make a teachers pay teachers store. My challenge is what format to put things in. Where is the balance between protecting your intellectual property versus making it user friendly for the buyer? For example a lot of elementary teachers on you tube recommend uploading PDF's so they can't be easily altered and resold. However I also know that every assignment I do is posted on my course webpage (password protected) and I know other high school teachers also are required to post assignments. A PDF is not editable by students which is again not user friendly. Also it seems like TPT only allows you to attach one file. So if I want to include additional info like answer keys and implementation guides then the teacher would have to snip out the student worksheet portion and make a new pdf. What are your recommendations?
Hey, great comment! I completely understand your desire to provide value to your science teachers. TPT will only allow you to upload 1 file. If you want to include answer keys, an editable powerpoint of your product (flatten the purchased clipart/font) and have a pdf, then put them all in 1 folder and then zip/compress the folder and you can upload that. I have created pdfs with a blank editable template, zipped it and uploaded and it's been fine. Let me know if that helps or you can email me and we can talk about this further.
Thanks for your videos. Can you make one on making those new teach g type TPT videos. Not the product video as I already know how to do those. Seems nobody has posted any info on that.
@@ItsAllPrimary Hello sorry about that typo. It’s those videos that the seller can post explaining the product being sold. Not the video of the product itself. I’m talking about TPT storefront of your items. Thanks again!
Regarding keyword stuffing This was a big issue several years ago on TPT. It was extensively discussed in the TPT forums and in many FB groups. You are dinged in the TPT algorithm if you keyword stuff the product titles and description. Don’t do it!
Hi Tasha, keywork stuffing is when you take your keywords and overuse them. Some sellers will list their keywords at the bottom of their product descriptions, which is considered a "no-no". Keywords should be in sentences.
