I have to be honest and say that 80% of the products I purchase from TPT, I never use in my class. This is because the preview of the product is not sufficient enough that I know exactly what I am buying. Yes, put your watermark all over the pages, but let me see the pages. And please do not tell me your life story and advertisements for your other products that count as the pages that I am purchasing.
Thank you for sharing updates.. Your work is very much appreciated. I hope you don' t mind me sharing in your space, my latest experience with TPT. I have been a happy and loyal TPT Premium Seller for 4 years. My subscription was automatically renewed yearly with Paypal.. Not anymore. Paypal is no longer available in the Country where I reside. I have been forced by TPT, to downgrade back to Basic Seller because the only payment method option they offer is to upgrade ONLY through Paypal. It is incredible that the largest marketplace for Prek-12 resources limits itself and its sellers like is nothing. I and many others have been addressing this issue to TPT again and again. No solution has been offered. Not one. Nada. No alternative payment methods. This sadly sounds very single minded. TPT is asking its sellers to update their products and offers. Which we do. Can TPT update their offers as well? Can TPT offer multiple payment methods?
Very good point! It happens to me when I buy growing bundles of clipart. The sellers say something, and then... it is just the same old thing again....
Thanks for the breakdown. I like the .15 fee for uploading, however, the fee that TPT charges is for every single time a resource sells for under $3. So I'm not sure if that would still remain in place. It would be nice if it deterred spammers or people who copy others. But they tend to find a way no matter what.
Hi Carrie, I would like to see the .15 cent, under $3, fee go. I'm still thinking about this. TPT is one of the higher charging marketplaces. I'm now thinking if they would have a higher premium membership (keep the existing), say $100 a year but then there are no extra fees and the 20% is reduced to 10%.
@@ItsAllPrimary I agree that the .15 fee needs to go away. I love your idea of charging more for membership (they could call it Elite or something) so that we could keep more of our earnings. I would be happy with 85% like it used to be years ago. We need to get someone on the SAB to suggest it to TPT!
Excellent summary of the meeting. I agree that it's not truly 'passive' income. If they added the 15 Cent up front then yes they have to take it away at the other end when purchases are made. Not sure how that would work for buyers' carts that have over $3 in them in total as then there's no 15Cent fee. Would they then add that to your income? But interesting concept for a way to get rid of spammers.
Yea, the 15 cent fee up front is something Etsy does . I hope that they lower their fees as there are more and more places that digital products can be sold for only 5 and 10%.

Hi Morgan, the fee structure definitely needs to be re-worked. Even with the TPT Premium fees, 20% is high for a marketplace. I would love to see the top 1000 seller list, too! I've sent a message out on the TPT seller forum.
True, but you are still charged 20%, even with the premium - that's a lot. It use to be 15% and they bumped it so they wouldn't have to resort to advertisement. Now the advertisement is here.
