The next evolution in my how I taught jolie focus heeling (for French/mondio ringsports and akc OB). Hope this helps! None of what I did is orignally my thought but the collection of ideas from my peers, mentors and fellow trainers. I am blessed to have some great influences and given amazing guidence so I hope this helps you in that same manner! contact: warnerk9@live.com for private lesson help. Also I love my Jolie girl! COAST DOGS Training Dawn Bennett thanks!!! I like this way of teaching because it also allows you to do akc obedience and rally since originally the hand placement for akc obedience is the original cue we use to teach focus heeling :). I appreciate the positive feedback!

Do you have a advice for dogs that don't care about treats and food?

Every dog is motivated by treats and food. If they're not you've gotta trouble shoot one of these: 1. You'r treats are lame, get higher value ones 2. You're in too distracting environment (can't teach new behaviors with squirrels/kids/ other dogs/ really interesting scents if they are interesting enough to distract) 3. Your dog is scared/nervous and that emotional state is canceling lowering food drive 4. Your dog is in physical discomfort/ill and that is lowering food drive. It's one of those, every time.

Sorry second thought: If you have a dog that is much more motivated by access to distractions and being able to Snell things or interact with environment then they are food, used doc itself as the Verwoerd for the desired behavior. Prompt dog to be by your side and look at you using any method you have to that as humane. The second they do, use your marker word or clicker and then release them to go to the thing they wanted to anyways. This is the premack principle. look it up! Very effective for distracted dogs
