I taught my guinea pigs the same way, but now they think that when they spin without prompting it means treats... they get all grumpy if you don't comply!
Same with my piggies! They would also stand up one their back legs, touch noses, and give us kisses. So cuuuute. 😆 Pea flakes are the greatest motivator.
SAME WITH MY FERRETS! THey understand when i layout their playpen in a certain way its treat time, they know up: stand on hind legs spin: spin and twirl: up then down and spin And so as soon as i put them in since they know up the best they are like UP UP UP UP CMON WHERES MY TREAT!?
1) omg they learned so fast! Amazing! My hamsters could never lol 2) I love that they choose to spin different ways! I wonder if ratties have a dominant paw that determines their preferred direction?
They do actually! The majority are right handed but you can tell if you've got a southpaw (emphasis on the paw ;) by observing which hand they most often grab things with, which foot they put forward first when walking and which hand they use most when play fighting with other rats. It's certainly not a foolproof method but some people do notice that their rats will favor one paw over the other so give it a try!
Aww!! As a violinist, I would 100% join an orchestra for the rattie ballet. They’re just so friggin cute 🥺 also props to derecho for getting it so fast!! Such a clever girlie
It's fun to train rats! I taught one of my girls to play fetch with a plastic bottle cap and it was a lot of fun, though as she grew older she couldn't be bothered anymore. She passed away last august. She was 2 years and 9 months, the oldest rat I've had so far. I'm trying to teach my younger girls too!
I thought my buns to spin… let’s just say we have a ballerina moment every time there is some kind of edible thing involved. When I bring them food to their pens both start spinning like helicopters till I placed it on the ground for them. Best trick ever.
I’m getting my new gen of rats soon and I want to make rat videos … I just want to tell you that your genius use of voices and sound effects makes your videos easy to stick with until the end!
Fantastic! Glad to see they've all learned how to dance. Will you teach Drizzle as well? We have three rats-- two girls, one boy, all fixed. One wee girl learned how to spin; she's also an excellent ball player. The boy has no interest in learning to spin, and would rather go pea fishing. The other girl is stone blind, so she can't see what I'm trying to teach her. She's dynamite with a forage toy, though.
they're so sweet!! but beware, when I taught my HIGHLY food driven girl this she would start spinning ferociously every time I was eating.😅 (or any time she thought I miiiiight have food, just in case!!)
Your channel is one of the reasons I love rats, I really wud want to hav pet rats but idk if I cud handle their short lives, I get super attached to my pets (which ik is normal but I feel like I do it to an extreme) if u don’t mind me asking, do u hav any other lil tips for being able to mentally handle their short lives? It’s okay if u don’t see this or don’t know how to answer, still tho, thank u for what u do and rattle kisses to u and ur rattle girls❤
This is so cute to see rats spin😂 i have learn my rats one trick and that is if i open there cage When there on my arm they go in there. And now im trying up😅
You can train rats any age honestly, as long as they are able and willing to learn. I didn't push my older guy to learn anything advanced but he learned to do basic stuff when he was in the mood.
I have to give you a big THANK YOU!! ever since my first rat died His name was rat Jesus because I thought he died at one point of time (not mocking Jesus it's just a name I picked) I got myself more RATS 🐀 and these videos made me understand my rats better and how to give them a more comfortable life so I'll say it again THANK YOU SO MUCH
