Big tractors can be intimidating, but some models are surprisingly easy to drive. We invite Shelby, one of our receptionists, to see how she does behind the wheel of a New Holland T7.270 with Auto Command (CVT Transmission).

A huge thank you to Shelby for agreeing to be filmed while learning to drive such a complicated tractor. The video was great.

More Tractor Time With Shelby! Shelby deserves a raise now that she's demonstrating the equipment. 🤣

You forgot the most important rule. 1. Always go slow in low gear with a wide implement when people behind you have to use the restroom.

How many secretaries can say their boss took time out of their day to teach them how to drive a tractor worth hundreds of thousands of dollars? I wish I was 40 years younger, I would love to work for you. Keep up the great videos.

Would've been epically hilarious to add a segment where the tractor was acting like a monster truck and crushing cars in the "employee" parking lot. She did a pretty decent job of driving a big tractor for the first time. Is still a boyhood dream of mine to drive the big tractors. Grew up with the farm toys. Farmed a gazillion acres as a kid.

Nice video….Shelby did super and what a fun attitude. Definitely the person I would want making the first impression for my business. I can’t count the number of times I’ve turned around and left places who have bad attitude employees…..I agree Shelby needs to be back….teaching her teaches us all.

Interesting video...the largest tractor I've ever driven is my BX2680....even for me that was a bit of a learning curve coming from a lawn/garden tractor background....you don't realize how much power even a sub-compact tractor has until you've ran into something with it that would simply stop or stall a lawn/garden tractor. I couldn't imagine jumping into the operator's seat of that New Holland as my first tractor, all the buttons and such on that thing would be quite the shock I'd imagine. But after watching Shelby it really seems pretty simple once you learn what the buttons do, and what controls what function. Neil, more of these types of videos please....Absolutely nothing against Shelby or any other newbie at all, it takes a lot of courage to jump into the operator seat of anything like that for the first time, and she did great. I'm sure if you put that tractor out in a field somewhere with an implement behind it and turned her loose she'd be able to run that tractor pretty good after a few hours. It takes seat time in order to get proficient at operating equipment like that for sure....even after a year and a half with my tractor, I'm still learning stuff on it, and I'm sure by now have forgotten a lot since its been sitting since the beginning of November, and probably will continue to do so until about April when things dry out enough that I can use it again without sinking to the axles LOL.

My first tractor was an L4400(still is). Before that, the most I had ever dealt with was the old Forrest Gump style snapper rider. Getting used to it was a HUGE learning curve. I was used to the little 10 horse briggs on the rider and thought "what can this puny 44hp motor do in something THIS big?!" Turns out, it can do quite a lot.
