Hello RallyandTrail, I will be taking this out tomorrow and give it another run to see if I can get more than 4min run time before overheating. If the new mod doesn't work then I will add 2 more vent holes (maybe 2 additional in the front of the body as well). The original pinion was a 15t now it is running a 19t pinion if all fails then I will drop it down to a 17t. Thanks for stopping by to watch the video and for the advice. Take care and stay safe out ther.
This car is awesome on the run, I like the traces it leaves on the grass in it's wake. Holes in the body're a great access to solve the heat problem. Maybe some in the chassis plate might be an extra support for the air-flow, if they don't weaken the chassis.🤔
Hey Al, a great looking beast of a buggy! Remember on the track, slow in, fast out and try and get all your braking down in a straight line, well that’s what my rally instructor told me, many years ago, worked too! 😂😊😂😊best wishes to you and the family 🖐️😎😉
That is a lot of power tucked tightly up in there so I can understand the cooling issues! It is a monster out there though! I hope you can get it cooled off and be able to rip it around without overheating, I know it is frustrating at times! You did what i would have done by cutting out the front window to try and force some cool air through there! Take care Al and have a great week!
Hey Addam, it is a lot of power, I did expect a little heat because it does set low to the ground and the friction from the grass added with the heat from the motor and esc. This is all part of the hobby for me, pushing it to a certain point, and then figure out how to make it work. I will be hitting the back 40 soon to test out this mod (hope it works) if not then add 2 additional vents holes test again. If it continues then add 2 more at the front and drop the pinion gear down 2 teeth. Thanks for watching Addam and for the awesome comment. Take care and have a wonderful week.
