A Baltimore City Public Schools student was killed and four others were injured when two suspects opened fire in the parking lot of the Edmondson Village Shopping Center Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
If the parents work 8-12 hours a day literally GONE the whole day the child is out of school wtf is raising the children? I remember crying about this as a kid myself. My mom was never home Bc she worked two jobs. Yet the school had the same demands for us as others! Our reality doesn’t look like yours. Yet our conditions are not considered when these meetings for better are discussed. There are literally generations of blk ppl that raised self as children. Not a coincidence at all. Side note not excusing what happened here just saying ur yt gaze doesn’t see the full scope so ofc everything looks like excuses to you.
Family members must be accountable for this one. These kids who are committing all of the crimes live with grandmother's , cousins and child's mothers family who know their reputation and what they are in to but refuse to turn them in. In fact, most of their family members will actually use their violent teenage relative to threaten people or will go get them if they have a small disagreement with another person.
How about we hold parents accountable? It takes community support to raise a child but it is the responsibility of the father and mother to raise the child they created. Too many fathers walking the streets as if they don’t have young impressionable boys seeking them on the other side of town. Imagine if these boys had active fathers in their lives?!!! We would see not only a cultural shift we would see a societal shift! Children need their fathers and mother.

Why is the Mayor and other city officials holding businesses accountable? If this area is already crime stricken, why is the school an open campus? There is plenty of blame to go around. Parents, School, and Mayor/city officials. This is absolutely unacceptable.
@@justsuzy321 it’s not the businesses FAULT or obligation. They did not run for public’s office and run on the campaign that they will make Baltimore safer. The business is doing what they intended to do which is make money and provide a living for its employees. Parents need to parent their children. If you know your child is a TYRANT dnt just thrust them in the community to cause chaos. Deal with them and seek professional help if need be. The idea of having an open campus especially in a bad neighborhood is not a great idea. Prime example: this incident.

Exactly and if the school knows the kids want Popeyes why not get a contract with Popeyes??? In GA the high school has a contract w chick fil a they fill the van with food and bring it to the school to sell twice a day. Not the full menu but enough to keep the kids on campus and give them other options than the trash school gives.

It's not those restaurants employees to enforce a school or city law. So, don't place the blame on them when they have nothing to do with it. It's a school city district.

I still blame the parents more. The shooters mother didn’t care for him leading him down a dangerous path that now ended is a death of a kid. We need to blame and find the families of these shooters and confront them and ask why is your son this way why does your son have a gun why didn’t you watch your son better

I'd like to suggest that around area's were youth congregate near schools or just hang out. Set up cameras with motion to collect data that would capture data to aid in situations like this. Even paying someone to survey the area in a covert place would help. Technology has to help when people won't aid in helping when crime happens. Wake up. Don't blame business when cameras can help.

This Mayor is incompetent & possibly high on drugs during press conference. He has the audacity to blame Popeye's for this? SMFH. As Baltimore Mayor he could've told Police Chief & Schools Chancellor to: 1. Send more police officers in cars & on foot to patrol area. 2. Install surveillance cameras on school & the surrounding area including strip center. 3. Install metal detectors at the school so guns are kept out of the building. 4. Work with City Councilmen to reach out to Landlord of shopping center & express safety concerns of community so a plan of action can be devised which can involve the school staff, students, parents & community leaders/activist involvement to build community neighborhood pride
When politicians start talking about why, the answer is government. For example, why were those students outside the school? Answer: Government not doing its job. The shooter have an arrest record and out bail, why government, Where are their parents? Answer: Government not holding them accountable. Government is the problem and the Mayor is full of himself. Guns aren’t the problem lack of parents and government dropping the ball.
Republican Mayors have better track records helping these cities even if they are in democratic states. They pass stricter laws AGAINST crime. Thoughts and prayers and news conferences don’t do shit. Put there people away
@@regulahdegulah1369 crazy thing is I was raised a democrat. I’m neither republican or democrat, but independent. Yet statistics are statistics. NYC (my hometown) became the great city in the 90’s and one of the safest in 2000’s when we imposed mandatory minimums and went after organized crime head on which was accomplished by a republican mayor.

Listen stop blaming Popeyes for any of this. I understand 5 juveniles were shot and unfortunately one of the young men lost his life. But this is no way any of the businesses fault this has the school written all over it. Security,police officers or whoever you have patrolling the hallway and grounds outside the school you need to be looking at them and questioning where they were when they young men left the building.

The city need to stop playing games and put harsher things in place for these thugs. If the child is under the age of 18, put some of the blame on the parents/guardians. You need to hold them accountable also. I’m sure there are cameras in that area. Stop playing with these kids/children. Then find these guns and give them hard sentences.

1st of all city officials should be the ones held responsible for all of the issues happening in that community. they are not doing their due diligence to protect the citizens of their community. They should not be blaming the businesses for the reasons as to why they're having the issues they are having. They also need to blame the police force who is not doing their job or do diligence to ensure that the people of the area are protected and secure. It's not business his responsibility to keep the community safe it is the community leaders that they have elected mayor included that is responsible for keeping the community and it's patriots safe. So sad I pray my condolences to all of the victims that have been affected in this tragedy especially the one that lost their life in such a senseless act. 😔🙏 Adults need to do better. Where I use to live the Police told the Business no lowering or selling or buying drugs or they will shut them down so the trouble makers went some place else.
Tragedy, live in philly, we have too many shootings, murders everyday, we r losing our youth, we need our national guards on our streets, we have to do something these kids r dying ,our governer is more concerned about Ukraine and helping the others at the borders, what about america, stop saying something has to change, It must change now
