XenilaVanilla & I were just talking about... 1st the dress was nearly £200 over budget, then the perfect complementary veil was probably another £500, not to mention how much alterations will run... I'm from the US & honestly it is very hard to find beautiful dresses like these within those budgets around where I live. Brides by Lori in GA is the closest to me & you'll be lucky to find something that starts @ $2k. I've been married 3x, 2 weddings... 1st dress we went to a bridal shop locally & the dreas was $2k w a detachable cathedral train... I was 18yrd old... it was out of budget & I was pregnant. We ended up finding like a bridal warehouse, found the exact same dress w/o a detachable train but still cathedral for only $500. Since it was out of town & we had to stay at a hotel every time we went the hotel offered discounts for brides & their parties that were shopping at the warehouse... that was pretty decent of them. I still have that dress... been debating on selling, donating, or saving it for my daughter who's 20yrs old (doubt she wants it though). 2nd wedding dress was simple & since my mama used to make all my pageant dresses when I was little & many of my clothes as well as my Sunday dresses, I hadn't let her make any clothes for me in a very long time for obvious reasons... I wasn't her little girl anymore but I asked her to make this 1 last dress for me. My 3 cousins (who I have absolutely no relationship with now) made a cathedral lenth veil for me... they all took turns. My last marriage we never got the chance to have our ceremony but we made our vows to 1 another on 12/1/2014. We were waiting until he got better to have our actual ceremony... we never got that chance because he passed away 10/10/2019. He was my husband, neither of us needed a piece of paper to tell us otherwise, we were spirituality bond & that's all that mattered. Blessed be my friend

@@HeronCoyote1234 I just want people to know that their dream dresses are out there somewhere within their budget or under budget.... you just gotta search... it's not always fair but don't give up. We all are beautiful no matter what & deserve to feel beautiful on our special day.

@@nutcracker2916 absolutely! I didn't have much time with my true love & it did in fact take 3x to get it right but it was the best few years of my life & I didn't have to stress of the wedding.

Not to mention that the veil that complements it perfectly is probably going to add around another £500

I was thinking the bride's mother looks exactly how the bride will look when she gets older! I see the same round face and large hooded eyes. Well, I guess people see different things.

It’s hard to watch, I agree. But growing up with a parent who questions bride’s every decision and plows through bride’s boundaries on daily basis since she was a toddler will do that to a person.

Personally I didn't really have an opinion, I just didn't want to look like a whale. Didn't exactly accomplish that but at least I only spent $125 to look like a whale...

Not the mothers day, she is pushing for this because she never had a decent wedding herself..

She went to a shop in London and a small selection with a £1500 budget. The consultant is to find a dress that works for her, and sometimes the bride must pay more in order to leave that shop with a dress.

Why did she go to that shop with a £1500 budget then? She could have gone to lots of other shops, but the selection here is limited. They did as well as they could so that she would leave with a dress. Besides, she is a big girl and can look at the price tag before trying it on.

I agree. Some seem difficult to walk in. Others will not allow the bride to eat and have fun. I also like more timeless styles. But some fishtails are more restrictive than others. To each her own.

I have seen relationships in my environment like this and they are mostly longlasting and inseparable...

It was really more of an a-line than a ball gown, the big poofy skirt is the defining quality of ball gowns

Seems to have a reputation of over the top glitzy fashion vs. Classic style I guess in other parts of Britain. The way they all talk about it reminds me of the gypsy wedding styles lol.

If the bride is bringing you for your opinion, then she should expect it. It's not rude to have different perspectives. Most brides still want the people at their weddings to like their dresses. It may not be their #1 priority, but sometimes the entourage can give the bride an idea about what other people see. It is not wrong. And some brides actually WANT their opinions.

I will wade in the middle here...don't say what you don't like just because it isn't your preference to wear....But yes you can give an opinion that is constructive that's why you are there. You know that looks nice but I'd like to see one similar with more or less beading, if the bride isn't set on it. Or what about dancing in that style, u know you love to move a lot!

Or a fishtail with an overskirt - best of both worlds!! 🥳
