I feel like 151 definitely needs to be on the list. You can’t just brush it off saying “it has bad pull rates” cuz so does evolving skies 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think Brilliant Stars is going to be a set to collect, since the pull rates were very good and the chase cards were pretty cool

At the end of 2021 Full Grip Games card shop had 24 Team Up Booster boxes for like 2 days for 600 when they were going for 800. So glad I grabbed one and still have it. Also preordered a booster case of Evolving Skies and still have that. That set was SO obvious man. Only set I’ve bought a case of.

I missed the train on literally every opportunity I had with Evolving Skies. I remember seeing the Moonbreon going for around $250ish thinking it would go down. I thought about buying a few booster boxes when it was around $200 per...didn't buy. At this point the set is amazing, but full of nothing but regrets.

I opened up a case of evolving cries the first week it was released and didn’t get umbreon or the rayquaza but got a bunch of other stuff. And I did back into the hobby right at that last wave of hidden fate and pulled the zard after line up in front of target Friday morning for a hour

No latios/latias, but got gengar mimikyu from a 1$ pack, as well as rainbow lugia gx. Psa 10 on them both.

I think Lost Thunder is a sleeper on set that might jump up to Team up value soon. The set has Lugia and Mimikyu which are fan favorites

Im still seeing many singles from sun and moon going for 5$-50$ idk if I should buy or if they will be cards that never increase in value

I wonder if the pull rates changed after the initial wave release of Evolving Skies. 🤔 I recall some the pulls were great in the first wave.

I started collecting with celebrations so i bought a few boxes but did not get enough evolving skies for sure,.

Question, If I didn’t want or couldn’t buy whole booster boxes, and have more money available to packs, would it be a good idea to buy unopened packs little by little, vs booster boxes?

I'm holding on to a few "art sets" of the mighty mysterious tins, which include x1 of evo skies, brilliant stars and fusion strike packs. I could see this doing fairly well in years to come once those sets start to see value increase.

Astral Radiance is highly underrated! Tons of Trainer Gallery Cards but also great pull rates. Wouldn’t be surprised if it blows up in the future. There was also no major reprint of the set and not very many graded cards in circulation!!

I think lost origins has great potential

Hard disagree on 151 not being that fun to open, the bad pull rates just make the pulls that much more exciting. And surprised you never mentioned crown zenith being the last yellow border set, also the Galarian gallery is what makes it fire 🔥

in Canada walmart just had some 25% all regular priced pokemon cards, then on the last day of the sale they stocked zacian figure collections with a "new price" of $68cad ($50usd).. the 25% off worked on it and they rang up to $48cad ($35usd)... That broke down the box to $4cad a pack!!! or about $2.90usd! I was shook and grabbed a bunch over the 151 and paldean fates that was sitting there

Ugh wished I kept all my TeamUp product sealed, I would've of been sitting in a gold mine. Best card I pulled from TU is the Magi&Wailord.

I mean loot at the japanese GX tag team high class set . Its like $600 per box , this is still lagiing especially the singles in the team up set.

my top 5 highest potential sets of the swsh era till now is evo skies, 151, fusion strike, chilling reign, and lost origin in that order. 151 and evo skies are the most fun ive ever had opening a set and by far have the most potential out of all the sets released in the last 2 eras, fusion strike has some extremely popular pokemon in it and it has some very undervalued alt arts like the celebi and mew, chilling reign has some amazing artwork though the pokemon featured in the set are not as popular as the ones featured in fusion strike which is why i rank it below fusion strike, and lost origin has the giratina and a pretty good trainer gallery though to be honest this set is very close to brilliant stars in my mind in terms of quality and potential. only reason i ranked it above bs is because of how well the giratina has preformed compared to the charizard though to be honest i still dont understand why that is the case. honestly the only set that i think is subject to change on this list is lost origin. as i said before its very close to bs in terms of quality and potential but thats not the only set i think it is close to in terms of quality, their are some scarlet and violet sets like paldea evolved and paradox rift that i think may outperform lost origin however its to early to tell if that is the case.

I think the set at 5 year mark that will be close to Team Up will be Pokémon 151 Japanese booster box. I feel it will not hit $2000 but I could see $1400 to $1800 range. I think Evolving Skies hits $1100 to $1300 at 5 years.

The singles are cheap but where are Celebrations sealed products available at retail?

151 was fun until the disappointment takes over. One etb and the hits were an alt art ivysaur and 2 wigglytuff ex.

No other sets from the last 5 years will reach Team up except maybe Cosmic. It was waaaaay under printed.

Well tbh celebrations has been on the current price for a while. Most good swsh sets are going up now. I can see celebrations go up soon.

It’s crazy how expensive this set is. I can imagine a price drop if pokemon decides to bring the gimmick back.

Sealed products always win!

I've opened ~100 packs of ES and have pulled the Sylveon Vmax alt, Umbreon Vmax alt and Leafeon V alt.

The box shouldn’t exceed the cost of the best hit. Why would anyone spend more than that? There’s definitely more sealed boxes than there are umbreon vmax in existence. I’d go as far to say there is millions of sealed boxes of evolving skies tucked away in closets, currently.

When Celebrations gets any traction whatsoever it's going to blow right by these other sets other than maybe Team Up. Anniversary set with no booster boxes, Gold Stars, Shinings, all 3 base set starter holos etc. It's the most underrated set in existence.

Just remember the most expensive card in it is what the price of the booster box will be. Team up most expensive Alternative Art card psa10 $2000, Evolving Skies MoonBreon $800, Lost Origin Giratina $600, Fusion Strike Gengar $400 so don't forget to pick up some Lost Origin/Fusion Strike booster boxes before it going into the $200 mark guys.

Jake this is the first time I feel you maybe using your influence to peddle certain sets. If you have unlimited stock of celebrations why would it drive to 5000 and additionally team up is a booster box. Three of them are specialty sets. They aren’t similar. Just disappointing

Joining Whatnot is similar to opening a shop in the same plaza as a strip club. But to me Jake's not a sellout because he's always maintained a relatively neutral position throughout the drama so he's free to do whatever he wants. Now if Rattle joined Whatnot...that would be a complete 180 and betrayal because he's taken such a firm position against them.
