give me some players that played together... lebron and ad played together for years. steph and kd played together for years. lebron and steph looked awesome together even thought it was only in all star games... the 5th guy should be depending of the match ups...
I feel like a starting 5 of Lebron, Steph, KD, Bam, & AD gives you space, size, switchability, & championship continuity. Then a second unit of Jrue, White, Ant, Tatum, & Embiid to basically create the upgraded Celtics. Book and Haliburton are great in pickup style line-ups. (I know book plays with KD but it hasn’t proven to be as winning as the other teammates)
Ant and Tyrese have no international experience. That's why the US sent a Sub-30 Team to that Mickey Mouse tournament. To see if he was capable of playing in FIBA.

Agreed. The 3 Celtics need to play together pairing with AD is a no-brainer. People need to chill though because wr don't have a set starting 5 and KD is still out. This team will be fine with a more time because no other team can match up with whatever 5 we choose.
Not enough continuity with Team USA. When Colangelo and K was incharge there was continuity and progression...going from select to primary. World Cup teams feeding Olympics. we are back to ad hoc teams now. It aint the All Star game...its a shame we lost the framework.
2 players are returning from the World Cup team. lol but I think this is more a last dance situation with Curry, Durant, LeBron, AD, etc..players who all have won multiple medals in international play but want one last run. Also we are returning 5 of the top 6 players from last Olympics. I think starting with the World Cup of 2027 we will see the new generation.
I watched this game in person. Although the US dominated the first half, Australia's pick and roll offense really could not be stopped, and as the game progressed the went to this action over and over. Their guards were able to get in the lane and repeatedly made good reads to their bigs (thus the 68 paint points mentioned by Windhorst). In the second half, the US turned to ball over way too much, especially in a key run in the third (and early parts of the 4th) when Australia cut a double-digit lead down. In my opinion, this game was way more about the US team's lack of defensive execution than it was about offense production. I think if they improve their rotations on pick and rolls and communicate better on off-ball screens and misdirection by their opponents, then they should do well moving forward. Furthermore, Australia ran several impressive ATO's which led to immediate scores (I think 3) in the second half. I know everyone wants to see dunks, threes, and an up and down game from the US team, but they can only do that if they can control the defensive end of the court.

Imagine Serbia? We getting whooped on Wednesday. This is what happens when you turn the nba from a sport into entertainment. You can tell none of the Americans were use to actual physical defense. That’s how Australia caught back up. We are in trouble.
Man stop, we got up 20 and took our foot off the gas, got sloppy and Australia played hard the whole way. If we turn it on and keep the pedal to the metal that 20 point lead becomes 30 easily… it won’t be the same fluctuating intensity once the Olympics start

No defense at all in the NBA. Not to mention most of the games are rigged. Refs, Vegas and Adam silver all calling the shots. Who is lebron gonna cry too at the olmypics. I know it's only been a few warm up games but the two players who have looked a little "lost" on the court are Curry and Embid. And it's no coincidence that - of the whole squad of 12 - it's Curry and Embid who have spent their WHOLE careers as the overwhelming number one options on their NBA teams where EVERYTHING goes through them. They expect to get the ball in EVERY play. At international level, you simply can't play like that: it's so much more a TEAM game than the NBA. This is why those two look a little uncertain on plays where they're not directly involved. Probably best that that Curry and Embid come off the bench : Curry to provide 3 point spark , Embid to provide offense/ defense spark when needed.
For Curry it's been a minute since he's played international ball (10 years to be exact for both him and AD and 12 for Lebron). With Embiid its obvious. He's never played on the international stage before.
I love RJ's player heights--every one he listed except LeBron he was short...but then he says they're all 6'10." BTW, Tatum is 6'10." Look at the team photo. He's clearly taller than Bam and at most 1" shorter than A.D. Definitely taller than LeBron, RJ. When are we gonna get the camera technology that measures exactly how tall guys are? Something tells me, it exists. Then, we can really laugh at KD telling us he's 6'9".
I’m a Celtics fan and Jaylen’s my favorite player but this narrative is insane. We’re talking about the 12th guy on the roster. Not to mention Derrick offers a different skillset which fits what the team needs better and frankly is more suited for international ball.
