Yeah, we had a little grocery store called Fuedos that got bought out by IGA, then iga shut down when HEB took over. Then Walmart came in. That shut down basically every family owned store. My small town was never the same. I miss that vibe.
Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Eastland Mall WAS once the sparkeling Gem of both of the Carolinas'. A Three story mall with an Ice Skating Rink and a large Video Arcade, and a triple Movie Theatre, and great stores like Belks, Ivey's, Sears, Eckard Drugs, K&B Toys, Walden Books, The Tender Box, and a hundred others is now.....JUST A FUCKING PARKING LOT! Bulldozed flat........

I have this sort of feeling when I go back to the outer banks. I hope they got a big payout and retire happy as the world changes into a more corporate environment where the little guys dont do much business.
