Tears of Llorona Extra Añejo Review - The Tequila Hombre

Well, now I'm intrigued. I know the folktale well because my husband who was born in Mexico has tried to use the story on our children 😂. It sounds like something I need to graduate up to, seeing as how I was drinking Sauza and Hornitos🙈. Thank you for your time and knowledge!

I see from other comments that your opinion of it has changed somewhat since the video came out. I opened a bottle and had a pour last night, and it was wonderful. I drink all kinds of spirits, but whisky is the one that I drink most often. This is a great tequila for whisky drinkers since it has some stylistic similarities to good quality whisky, and it has a level of complexity that beats out many great ones. Declaring that it is the best tequila out there (as some have done) doesn't make any sense, but I think it has a strong appeal to a specific audience. I posted about it on an online bourbon community; I found that I'm not the only one who has tried it, and it is very well liked. I also had El Tesoro Paradiso last night, and it was wonderful too, but very different. It is lighter in color and less woody, allowing the agave to come forward more. It's also less expensive and a better value. If I had to choose only one, it would be hard. El Tesoro Paradiso gives more for the money, but Tears of Llorona appeals to the whisky lover in me. Fortunately, I don't have to choose since I have both. I'll have to try more additive-free well-aged tequilas at bars and pick one or two more for my collection. This is a category of spirit that is a near-perfect match for my taste preferences. Tears of Llorona has been hyped up, and the price is higher than it was at the time of this video, but it hasn't gone totally nuts and it isn't too difficult to find. I'm hoping that tequila doesn't go completely off the rails like bourbon, where good but unremarkable whisky like Blanton's is almost never available in stores (except in museums where it might be found for $200 or more when it should be around $60), and Van Winkle bourbons get marked up to thousands of dollars and are subject to cult-like worship. The price of Tears of Llorona might be somewhat higher than it should be, but compared to the craziness that is going on with bourbon, it isn't so bad.

Hi. I recently was able to get a bottle of this. I understand the batch is identified by the red part of the green, white, red label having a different character but I can't find a reference for this. Mine has was looks to be an owl in the red part of the label. Also, on the bottle it has "LOTE 023TLLXA22". Do you have a reference for this or just simply know? Thanks!

I have tried a lot of expensive high rated tequila. This is my second favorite, it really has a great flavor and is very complex. My favorite is still the G4 55 month extra anejo. Its pricy but nothing compares to the agave flavor you get with the G4. The regular G5 5 year is ok but the limited 55 month is the best I have ever had.

Those are the bed time stories we got as children. Us: mom i cant sleep can you tell me a bed time story? Mom: ok once upon a time there was a lady that drown her kids. At night she looks for them and takes the ones that are awake so go to sleep or she’s gonna get you! Us: 😱 😴 🛌
