I’am problem like this too. But it 240AC coil. Help me please.thank you.

You want surge protection for a single coil at 240VAC? Go to www.AutomationDirect.com. You will find a number of solutions there. Search for SPD, then in the left column narrow down your results. In particular, check out this new DIN Rail mounted device: www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/power_products_(electrical)/surge_protective_devices/ul_type_4_for_power_-a-_controls_applications/953205

Superb👌my plc was disturbed and triggered falsely bcz of no SPD across the 230 AC contactor which was controlled by DC relay 5vdc. Then I used RC snubber across 230AC coil and the problem gone. Thanx👍👍😊😊😊😊alot

3:54 doesnt explain the basic or something why there is a spike in the same direction as the volt rises the moment you turn on the switch. i expect a slow rising due to EMF, where is that extra volt and current from?
@automationdirect
@automationdirect 6 месяцев назад
That's due to the collapsing magnetic field.

Try this: www.automationdirect.com/VID-MS-0011 FYI: I found that here: www.automationdirect.com/cookbook in the chapter on "AC Motor On/Off control" in the "Tech Tip" group. There's lots of good stuff there. I also just added a link in the description of this video.
