Brands will have some requirements too to pay the big buck, right? It looks very different in here. I was just wondering how these brand endorsements are made. Do the brands come up to them and say, "We would like to sponsor the next 5 podcasts irrespective of the content. You just do what you do best."?

I'm glad someone tried to explain it @1:23:35, but the segment on "How many bytes are in a 1TB" is 1 Trillion, based on the way it's worded (if comparing well Apples to anything but Windows). On Microsoft Windows however, what is labeled as 1TB is a lie and is actually a 1TiB. So on Windows, the actual answer for how many Bytes is in 1TB (really 1TiB) would be 1,099,511,627,776 bytes (1024^4). Linux, Mac, BSD, and modern Unix OS's (and pretty much everything other than Windows) "fixed" this years ago. But even today many people still wrongly think manufacturers are misleading them, or that the remainder is overhead of the OS or file system (neither are remotely true). The correction to what was said is simply that ALL hard drives are manufactured in Terabytes, not TiB (reverse of what was said at the end, and again this is ONLY an issue for Microsoft).

I was going to say I would love to buy a 1 TiB, but they’re sold in TB. bc it’s 1 trillion bytes. The byte is measured in base 2, but then every size above it is measured in base 10 so there isn’t a manufacturing issue

The whole “Assistant” versus “Gemini” thing is a perfect example of Google having no idea how to market their products. How hard was it to just present an updated “Google Assistant” with AI, and eventually just no longer need to mention AI when is mainstream and intuitive

They're not marketing to users, they're marketing to shareholders. "Just" updating an existing product is less exciting to the market than an entirely new product. Of course this is why the Google graveyard is littered with tiny variations of the same idea and no one has any idea what google products can do, but it means the stock gets a bump after they annouce something new. At least that's the theory, dunno how well it worked this time.

I think regular people have a lot of "solutions" as to how big companies should do things and I wonder what's the reason behind why said companies don't do that. If it was really that easy to just combine Google Assistant and Gemini, Google would surely have done it. Assistant is so powerful and does many versatile things, that I think it hit Google in the ass when they tried to put AI into it, so they just came up with Gemini and now they're slowly trying to put all the assistant stuff into Gemini.

For the Apple problem, it’s cuz the trash is stored in the card under a hidden file that is not viewable unless you enable view hidden files (there’s a shortcut for it but I forget). So you can enable that and delete the .trash folder to properly delete it from the SD card, annoying but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I don't know if it's only a pixel feature, but on my Pixel 4a I have a popup at the bottom of the screen as soon as I copy text (like the screenshot popup that allows you to edit/share the screenshot) if I click on it, it opens the copied text on a ''temporary note'' and there I can edit it, remove bits I don't want or even add something such as a country code before a phone number, then click ''ok'' and it will add it to the clipboard with those modifications!

David, you can absolutely filter out AI images on Adobe Stock. I use it regularly for work and do it all the time. Also, some of the AI images are absolutely passable for basic stock photography.

I think one of the reasons why RU-vid has not implemented A and B testing for titles yet is because they need to figure out how that will work with the feature that allows videos to display with titles in different languages and fix the bugs in that system. For instance, I watch a lot of videos that are in Korean. When they are first released, they don’t always have translations uploaded. 1-4 days later they tend to add the English translations and I usually notice this because the title of the video suddenly changes. However, if i am watching the video in a queue and minimize the queue, the title turns back to Korean. I don’t know how good A and B testing will be if users can see both titles. So i guess when they fix those bugs and figure out how to let the two features play nice, you’ll get your wish.

Could be wrong, but content aware fill isn’t AI because it’s using other parts of the image to fill in the section, like clone stamping. Generative fill is AI because it’s generating something new based on the context of the image.

On the Terabyte vs Tebibyte conversation. They actually just increase in power of 10 increments, which is a lot easier to remember: 1 KiB = 2^10 1 MiB = 2^20 1 GiB = 2^30 1 TiB = 2^40 And 1 TiB is 1024 GiB which is close enough to 1000 GB when giving a rough idea of the amount of storage. Another way to visualize it: 1024 GiB = 2^10 GiB = 2^10 * 2^30 = 2^40 = 1 TiB Technically we count in base 10 the same way, but we increase in power of 3 increments instead: 1 KB = 10^3 1 MB = 10^6 1 GB = 10^9 1 TB = 10^12

photoshop should be able to determine how much of the image in a percentage value has been edited with AI (using how many pixels were changed with an AI based tool) and should label the tag with such clearing up if the main portion of the photo is real or not. metadata tags can be modified or removed entirely but this is able to be detected and most doing this would likely only be doing so in bad faith meaning they could label those aswell, both of these changes would make for a much clearer note on the image and better solution to the issue.

2 things. 1st. If you change the color profile then almost every pixel would be changed. If I added a person who didn’t exist in a photo that would change less pixels. And B. Everything you named can be skirted around by taking a screenshot of the edited photo

@@toptiertech7291 did you not read what I wrote? I said any pixel changed using the AI tools, any other tool used such as you described would not be included in such a percentage. Also your screenshot method would not work due to the second change I suggested being that a screenshot has completely different metadata to that of an actual photo which usually has info on camera specs, location, etc. A screenshot could be easily discerned from both an AI image and an altered photo and could be labeled as such. Like I said before if the metadata is modified its not hard to detect and they could label the image as having been tampered with.

HOW TO COPY PARTIAL TEXT: 1. The swipe up still works on pixel phones. You just swipe up and press+hold on a text to select them. 2. On Samsung phones: - open up "Rectangle" select tool (usually from the side menu). You select around the text, press the "T" for you to select portion of a text to copy. Or just pin it as reference while you go to other apps. - With S Pen, hover over text you can press and hold the pen button to select partial text and copy etc. (works on browser and testing apps, but not everywhere eg: this yt comment)

What I really want is for Companies like Google and Apple to have "LOCAL BACKUPS" like in Photos, Files, etc we can back it up to Drive or iCloud. but there should also be an option to instead use Local NAS/Home Server to back stuff up. Face Recognition can be processed on their cloud, and then the database is updated and stored again on the local server. So If I have photos, they will go to Google Cloud for Face Recognition feature, it will create the Database and then my photos will be backed up on the server along with the database, so I can search photos of people/pets, etc easily. EU/US needs to mandate such Privacy Laws, that they HAVE TO have a non-cloud option. But again, we don't even have a proper DIGITAL ASSET OWNERSHIP act/law yet which is why even when you "BUY" digital asset, you are just licencing it and not purchasing.

Louis made a response video listing multiple design flaws from Apple as evidence of Apple not caring about both and said MKBHD’s video is a “soft propaganda” for Apple. MKBHD video comments section has been asking for a response to the video and so far nothing.

In Belgium we always complain about how our train schedule sucks, it still does but I've come to count our blessings when having to use DB. NMBS, I do not like you, but please do not become DB because we will have a revolution against you if that happens, Sincerely a student that has to travel on a regional line twice a day

That select specific bits of a text feature is exclusive to Pixel, I used to miss that feature but you can do that with circle to search now

I love how deeply immersed in the Apple ecosystem people are that they worry about the minutia of using the watch as a trackpad or its wireless charging when there's the glaring issue that you *can't use it as a standalone product*.

I guess my thinking on that was since Apple was already using CFRP inside the Vision Pro, they could switch to manufacturing the whole body out of carbon fibre and make a sort of Vision Pro ‘monocoque’. That way they would lose weight since CFRP is already much less dense than aluminium and they would also lose all the extra weight from the material used to attach the inner structure to the outer body, kinda like they did when they did the whole ‘unibody’ MacBooks. Anyway, really fun episode guys! 🔥🔥

For those of us with kiddos to young for a phone but old enough to listen to music this would be SUCH an awesome compromise. they can see the artwork to know what they want to listen too. and select it them selves. (i have a 4 year old learning to read so this would fit PERFECTLY)

Otherwise you’re all sellouts. You’re not fair and don’t put your audience first. Disclaimer, I haven’t checked to see if this is true, I’ve just started listening to the podcast so my statements might be inaccurate. I’ve been a big fan of both channels for a long time (MKBHD for way longer but Louis, despite his abrasive personality, has grown on me rather quickly). I think Louis’ video is important and absolutely deserves a response, but I never expected one to begin with since their styles are so different, Louis being so much more confrontational. I still hope that MKBHD consider telling their side of the story, that would be huge, but I’m not holding my breath unfortunately. TLDR; disappointed but not surprised.

@@feta_cheesecake to be clear it's possible that some magic RU-vid machine learning moderation hid it rather than a deliberate choice by them. Kinda hard to tell at this point since even what moderation tools are channel has access to can vary by creator size. I just know that the thread with the most replies on last weeks show was hidden by something. I can see it if I click on reply notifications from it, but viewing the video on a clean account does not show the comment at all.

On budget phones where an under-display fingerprint reader is considered more premium, it being on the back is so much better as a thick case user. Sliding my finger - without looking - into the hole of the case feels better than being on the side and having to potentially re-adjust the way I'm holding the phone.

In order to cater to a "wider audience" media journalists sometimes have to "water down" the tech components. I had that too marques, but with a flash drive. Or something similar. The „trashed“ files were stuck somewhere tho and I had to reconnect the stick to delete them, but I think they were stuck in trash on the stuck itself.
