For those who don't know, TECHDOG is a four part project that I began in May of 2022, I'll be releasing the other parts once per day, thanks so much for sticking through this long (for me) musical hiatus, this was a grand experiment and I am very excited for you all to hear the whole thing. -Patty
Hi I adore you and your music, Your videos and music have both truly expanded my perspective on the topics of queerness, autism, and the furry community. I feel like I've become a much more knowledgeable, open, and accepting individual since discovering your channel and I'm extremely thankful for that.
I lost an intenet friend yesterday, she's gone. We didn't really talk about Patricia Taxxon, but we did talk about music, and Patricia was brought up many times in the server we talked the most in. No one in the server will ever feel the same, it had such a great impact on the server, I wish she could have heard this album.
can you feel your heart burning? can you feel the struggle within? the fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make. you cannot kill me in a way that matters
it’s unbelievable how good you are at making audio feel almost tactile in nature, i love the contrast between the sharp/pointy and almost plush feeling sounds in some songs, the bubbly ones also make my brain really happy!
I agree I don't know if I have synesthesia but her music makes me wonder if I do bc of how she makesit. Bauhaus was the first song of hers i encountered, and that felt like a waterfall of gravel and broken glass but in a good way
Born too late to explore the world, and too soon to explore the cosmos, but right on time to experience this. 🤘 post-listen edit: yup, this is music made by a dog. a *very* good dog indeed.
I love this music, I'm gonna talk about it in more detail. There's just so much to this and it inspires emotions in me that I've never gotten from music before. And it feels so physical and real. I really love it. TECHDOG makes me think of going outside to the park and meeting lots of different people and animals. I can't really explain why it brings that image to mind at all, to be honest. CGTHODE makes me think of being on a train in a tunnel that suddenly opens out to display a beautiful natural vista rushing by, but still feeling those machine vibrations that are the reason you're there. GDECHTO makes me think of a contrast between hard metal machinery, the signals of light that those machines contain, and the images and worlds that those signals create. THEDOCG makes me think of a sports competition. The initial part is just playing with balls and nets, but then it's organised into a beat, and that allows something really exciting to emerge. GOCHEDT makes me think of the fun of building something creative but technical. Like deciding to use an unexpected snow day to carefully build the biggest castle you can. OCTDEHG makes me think of the upper levels of my university's library, where people quietly work together in a space on their own things, but also the wonder of a huge space filled with old knowledge. It has the visuals of wandering through an ancient server space, with caretaker drones flying right over head like bees buzzing past your ear. GETHCOD makes me think of nintendo directs, of trailers for highly anticipated games or movies, of seeing one of your favourite musicians announce a collab with another of your favourite musicians. It's that pure joy and hype. DOTHGEC makes me think of intricate physical mechanisms, like marble runs, combined with the feeling of moving into a city when you're used to suburbs or countryside. The space that you're in is suddenly so much more complicated when there's so many other people, but also so interesting. THCODEG is harder to describe... It makes me think of the dragon. Like, symbolically. It's powerful. It's awesome both in the modern and archaic sense. It inspires a sort of supernatural wonder. DEGCOHT is a little more chaotic. It makes me think of bugs and mice that scurry around and the beautiful environment they live in. It makes me think of the wildlife photographer, who documents the beauty of the small. GECHDOT reminds me of the feeling of getting something that you've been waiting for or working towards for a very long time. It's the release of a game you've been anticipating for years. It's the world record speedrun. It's the feeling of waking up on the morning of the day something really great is going to happen. This is amazing. And there's going to be three more of these!
An album that expresses itself with gleeful abandon and no regard for how upfront it's being, like a dog that doesn't seem to know how big it is compared to the person it's greeting. A befitting opener to the series, characterised by a foundational joy.
I feel guilty for not knowing that Patricia was a musician of this caliber. I listened to this, and now I'm listening to Agnes & Hilda, and I'm just fucking floored. I came here for the video essays and just assumed it was a hobbyist when it came to music. I've been missing out.
I don't think I've heard anyone make their synth this textured, I mean, it's not like news for you, your other songs always have had very textured synths but really listening to this album I am once again reminded of how much the sounds feels like they are touched, they feel rough or soft or lumpy, I really like that and don't get this experience elsewhere
@@TobiCatsith Damn didn't got a notification on that sorry- But thanks! I made it myself but don't have any social account to link to for now tho sorry ^^'
I think Patty has grown so efficient at doing music that she has already translated her full soul, front to back, into audio format, and she's just putting it out there. That's so admirable
feels like neurons firing when you taste and smell and see and feel and experience new things - fizzy and crunchy and delicious! who's a good girl who somehow managed to alchemise all the experiences of all the senses into just one sense of audio? you are!
The wheeping whirr at 11:18 has the most pathos out of any synth sound I've heard. Like it makes me want to hug the person behind the rig and tell her that she's a good puppy.
I know this is used as an expression a lot but the second song genuinely gave me the physical sensation of an itch being scratched so i think that’s pretty cool
The cartoony dog is very cute and music is so good, engaging and makes me feel fuzzy inside, like those crispy thingies they put in chocolate (pop corn ones?). Thank you for sharing!
unofficial names for my use only, based on similarities i feel with some of patty’s other songs (and other related songs) if you take a peek and i dont notice good for you 0:00 Track 1 - hiiii!! :3 2:15 Track 2 - Chamber 4:13 Track 3 - Down The Avenue 6:20 Track 4 - Well, Actually 9:04 Track 5 - Sir Pentagon Visits a Friend 11:09 Track 6 - Way 13:38 Track 7 - Morning Therapist 15:58 Track 8 - The Small Nap 18:08 Track 9 - Chiaroscuro 20:31 Track 10 - Librarian 23:09 Track 11 - see you soon!!!
I really like these titles, and I appreciate the references to her other tracks, even if I don't get them all (I've only listened to a handful of her albums so far): Well, Actually - Yes, And Way - Wax under Wolcnum? Chiaroscuro - By Greg Rutowski Librarian - Her Library Oh and the connection between the first and last tracks is also really cute :)
@@Person.1234oh, I actually didn’t think of Wax Under Wolcnum there, but yea! the background noises sound similar, plus Way is one letter away from Wax I was actually thinking that the soft melody in the track is part of the melody of Waymond’s theme from Everything Everywhere All At Once
I got so incredibly excited seeing the notification for this pop up. Agnes and Hilda was probably my favorite album of 2022 just in general, and just a few tracks in this is already scratching the same itch in my brain - to think I'll get three more parts of this?? I can't wait ❤
I can definitely see the influence when it comes to the sound design, but this is clearly its own thing, SOPHIE'S music sounds much more maximalist to me, this is way more meditative imo
Just finished listening! I honestly don’t know a lot about your work besides visiting narcissa and wavetable but I like this project so far. Narcissa felt glamorous and metallic but this sounds springy and fidgety in a fun way, kind of reminds me of cats doing that throat click noise when they see a bird. I’ll watch out for the other parts for sure
After binge listening this album I've confirmed found 0 songs that miss!!! (1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 11 are my favourites, but I'm not even close to disliking the others)
i love that twist did the art for this, it makes me happy to see noelle finding their place in the fandom nicely!! theyre such a cool artist (from afar anyways) cool stuff!!!
i promise to listen to techdog 1-7 in its entirety next month when i have time. i am exited and scared for what's in store from the small bits i've heard so far.
i started this after a long day, and discovering that the first piece is, in fact, based on the soundscape of the swamplands of my mind was a delight, as always
very enjoyed and the (lovely) art contributes in a very hyper specific particular way of being slightly wrong? i can't figure out why but it's an alternate universe patty who's probably perfectly acceptable but there's just something a tiny bit off behind those excited eyes
i typically dont vibe with your music but i always appreciate the quality of the mix, especially in terms of how polished all the crazy sound effects sound, i can really visualize the shape of the sounds and enjoy the sensation. it's good shit, even if id rather listen to opeth or steely dan (i was very popular in school) i wonder if i might enjoy this more if i experienced asmr lmao ear masturbation
See, normally I don't care about ASMR because eww mouth noises, but this is makes me sort of get it. (I was also that kid picking classic rock songs no one cared about on song-sharing day in music class)
i don't listen to much music because i rather listen to podcasts all of the time but i do take time out of my day to listen to your newer stuff every now and then and i'm glad to add this to that
holy shit you "don't listen to much music" but you listen to Patricia Taxxon? that's wild. I think you just gotta find some more genres you like honestly, cause shit on the radio just ain't worth listening to
@@Cobalt985 music is too busy/distracting to listen to while actively doing other things, and it doesnt occupy me while i'm out and about, i listen to like, Patricia Taxxon and MEMODEMO,, when i got some game that needs 0 brainpower, it's my tism 👍
2:15 CGTHODE is just that perfect, crispy, crunchy sound (it’s like if peanut brittle or sour candy was a sound), and i feel so happy every time i listen to it, i love ur music sm! :]
After listening to the whole series of albums quite a few times, it's hard not to view this one as a "prologue" of sorts - meant to succinctly introduce the themes that get developed later on in the longer tracks of the later albums. While I think that's probably correct, I keep finding myself coming back to this album in particular. It's a joy to listen to on its own. The songs are just so concise and razor focused; they manage to feel full and developed in just 2-min each. And the rich texture gives them complexity even in their shortest form. A real treat!
i'd never heard your music before this and its not hyperbolic in the slightest when i say i listened to this with my jaw slack and my eyes glazed over WHY CAN I *FEEL* THIS SONG WHAT-
