Would buy it. Seems like a really nice package.

Originally thought it was way too overpriced, and the touchscreen operations could be terribly laggy (considering it has LR built in). I really love my Leica TL2 and Hasselblad X1D’s touch control system, but I thought the ZX1 is really going to be laggy. However from Zeiss’ videos, seems like the operation is pretty smooth, and someone on Weibo did a analysis on the MTF of the lens, and the image quality is actually fantastic! Hopefully the autofocus is fast, and I will wait for more hand-on previews...seems a lot better than I expected!

Yes! I don't always keep up with the latest stuff, but I have casually wondered over the past 12-18 months when cameras will integrate blockchain technology to identify true content ownership.

Zeiss thinks if they keep the price staggering...it would be considered a niche product...if u dont sell cameras. whats the point....may be the high price was a cushion for their manufacturing difficulties which have been running since its announcement 2 years back...thats why there are not many reviews on RU-vid. the ones present are showing what the company advertises

You could buy a great full frame camera, a great lens or two, and a high-end computer all together for much less than this toy.

If you are interested in how "chain of custody/ownership" works, this is a good place to start. www.ibm.com/blockchain/what-is-blockchain

totally see this as that nice street photography camera to do everything in to one camera. but wait if you get lightroom for 1 year, what happens when you dont update the subscription? will the lightroom inside the camera just stop working? well thats a big downside at the end portion i wonder how does it differ from putting "meta data" in to your images lets say that allows the file to be tracked or this version is something more advance to protect your content?

Vlogging is irrelevant for still photography. (trigger moment, I can see the replies being typed now 🤣🤣🤣) This camera is in direct competition with the Leica Q/Q2 in terms of feature/functionality/price. Other cameras it competes with are the Fujifilm X100 series and the Sony RX1R II. That said, I agree this camera is a conceptual camera meant to spark innovation and develop new patents in the camera industry. I see a Mark II of this camera including computational photography like you see in high-end Android and iPhones. I think it would have been better not to tie themselves to Adobe and instead went with a mobile editor like Polaar or Snapseed. Maybe even buy those apps and expand upon them. This camera is squarely aimed at street and travel photographers with maybe a possibility for those who shoot lifestyle. Outside of all of the differences they could have made with the overall design, the price is their biggest faux pas. No one is going to spend $7K USD for an Android camera. Samsung has been there and done that, in my view far better albeit with older technology that's no longer being sold. I wish Samsung had remained in the camera market. They were on to something 10 years ago.

..this camera is soooo doomed .... Like the Boeing 737 Max or Airbus 380 ... Created to be a total failure ... A bizarre super expensive creation in a time of total extreme worldwide financial crises .....
