Great Video, thank you. I have put a 510 on my Milling machine 240 single phase to three phase for 2.2Kw motor. Working well. Adding a remote.

Hi, and thanks for the very helpful video. I am using the 3-wire control mode for remote on/off and forward/reverse, with an added Rapid Stop switch. The other functions work fine, but when I wired the Rapid Stop switch to S-4, as shown in your video, the motor would not stop when the switch was engaged. In the Group 3 parameters, my manual (Ver 01: 2015.08) specifies "Setting-S5" for Rapid Stop. So, when I wired the Rapid Stop switch to S-5 it worked perfectly. Maybe I have an older version of the L510, or maybe I missed something. Anyway, everything works great and I couldn't have done it without your help. Thanks.

Hi There. Its hard to tell were you went wrong, got to be something simple. Retrace your steps and as shown in video, it should work. Aging it would be hard to diagnose without seeing the setup.

Paulie G, I encountered the exact same problem. I have my wiring hooked up just like this video and my Rapid Stop decelerates slowly over a few seconds. I went in and turned -15 & -17 down to 0.5 and it didn’t change anything. I found your comment and moved my wire from S3 to S5, programmed the input and it works perfectly. Thank you so much for adding this. I’d resigned myself to having the E stop break the common wire which does cause the motor to stop, but when the E stop button is reset the motor immediately starts running again. Your S5 solution cured it. I don’t see in my manual where S5 is called out, but you found it. It looks like any of the inputs can trigger the E. S. but apparently that is wrong.

@@IGSElectronics I don’t think he did anything wrong. Mine works the same way.

@@MrZX1206 Hi, glad my experience was helpful. No idea why the setup in the video worked with S-4 (and it clearly does), but ours only worked with S-5. Nevertheless, this video was really helpful. I had purchased a remote control with on/off, forward/reverse and speed control, and I was scratching my head about how to wire it up and connect it to my VFD when I came across this video. My lathe has been running like it's supposed to for the last few months so I am happy.

Hello, your videos are very good, with them I was able to start up this equipment but, I still have one more question, I need to program the motors to turn on and off automatically. I know that the real time clock exists in some equipment, but I don't know if the DC1 have this option. Can you help me with this?

Thanks for a great video. I am building my own enclosure for all the controls and I wondered where you purchase your individual switches and potentiometers?? Thanks for your assistance Michael

Hi there. These are standard Schneider electric gear. Any industrial electronics parts seller should have them. I got mine from RS Components.

Please excuse my very novice questions or point me to a more elementary resource. I have the L510 that I am planning to use in the USA as a 110v, 1-ph input and 220v, 3-ph, 1-hp output for a variable speed wood lathe. I want to have a E-stop button, a forward and reverse option and a potentiometer. Would you suggest the 2 or 3 wire setup? If so, I don’t grasp the wiring differences. Also what type of wire do you use to go from VFD to the remote console. Additionally, why are the switches on 24v (the “S” terminals) and the varying frequency potentiometer on 10v? I ask your gentleness as I am not electronics savvy. Thank you, Ingus!

Both options are good, with 3 wire you have standard start stop option that latches the input once the start is pushed and stopped by pushing stop, with 2 wire you have to use selector switches to keep inputs on. The wire from control station to the drive is multicore 12 core cable, 0.5mm size. The analog input standard is 0-10V or 4 to 20ma as standard, and all digital inputs are powered with 24v dc supply's. Hope that helps.

You didn't really cover the magnetic converter? could you clarify the wiring for that?

Hi There. That product is built by me with Schneider components. I have discontinued building them as the parts were getting too expensive.

I'd really like to use this information, but I can't understand a word. Between the lousy microphone and the accent, I just can't get anything out of it.
