Ted was a truly great heel. I hated him as a kid because I thought he was such a "bad guy" but now that I'm older I can look back and realize how great he was at making my heroes look so mighty. I still have The Million Dollar Man's Wrestling Buddy.
DuckTalesWooHoo1987 Ted DiBiase was one of the greatest villains of all time. ... Telling that little kid he would get a reward if he could bounce the basketball enough times, and then kicking the ball out of the kid's hands just before he achieved his goal was unforgettable. Everybody loved to hate The Million Dollar Man. ... Character's like that don't exist today.
Sadly that is so true. I miss those days dearly. I have had a couple of free trials of the wwf network and it is so fun to go back and watch the old ppv's and Saturday Night Main Events. The attitude era can't hold a candle to the second golden age and don't even get me started on today!
+Michael Zoran That was sooooo cold. Like, his gimmick was so realistic on how harsh and how cruel a man can be when he has that much power and that he'd pick on the small guys like that kid with the basketball. Like, oh my goodness, his gimmick is so hate-able and I swear that there was at one point that if he was being for real and if I was 9 years old, I'd punch him so hard. Looking at it now, I really liked how he played his role. Truly was one of the greatest gimmicks pulled off by a man.
At the beginning of the event, somebody asked Virgil a question and he said "I'll answer that after you buy a picture from me." People stopped asking Virgil questions.
Why would you say that,? Did you not hear about the millions of dollars he stole from church ministry charities? Teds awesome as a wrestler I don’t care about them as a person outside as they’re entertainers. So compare all of those people you consider bad. And apply that standard to Ted.
Yeah his son and him owe about 2 million ordered by federal court. July 2021 I didn’t mean to comment on your post. I agree with the game I got into wrestling again recently with my 2 boys
Teds awesome. I can’t believe he stole all those church donations and his son and him have to pay back over 2 million dollars they stole from people donating. Federal courts July 2021.
Nuwanda84 I know eh ! You can tell he’s still collecting PR / hush money from WWE! No fucking way those guys in WWE are natural ... Cena is the most roided out guy in the company ffs
1. Solid camera work, especially the back half of the 17 min mark. 2. I'm curious how many people in that crowd actually wanted to be there or knew what they walked into. Half of them look bored out of their mind or asleep, which is sad, because DiBiase is a great. 3. Poor Virgil. He looks so sad the first half of the video. Hell, I forgot he was there until there was a mysterious voice that started talking and I realized it was him. 😂
Even though Ted and his son got caught and ordered to pay back over 2 million dollars 6 months ago. Virgil is perceived as a slime ball. And I agree Virgil is a scumbag and Ted is awesome despite stealing a couple million dollars From his church to help sick children.
Ted was great in Georgia, that's where I first saw him, giving the good guys grief with his loaded glove. Later saw him in the UWF when they went national, and loved seeing him in the WWF in one of the most memorable gimmicks of all time. There have been many world champions but there is only one true million dollar champion.
Never seen Ted in a shoot capacity but struck that he seems to be. A very Well mannered and well spoken gentleman. Seems to have a very keen sense of both sides of the performer/management (believe his father ran a promotion) perspectives on allot of these issues. Cool to watch.
Thank you Mr. Dibiase. I've been saying for the last few years what you said here. Its high time people start taking responsibility for THERE actions. In baseball, I for one, am fed up with all these players casting blame on the steroids issue. Listen, cos I'll make it simple. When your a full grown adult, if by that age, you don't know what your putting in your body, than you have some real serious issues then. Either that, or you just have a bad case of the stupids. But your 100% right. Your spot on with this one.
Ted was awesome. But he wouldn’t have as great with Virgil and sapphire as his slave. I didn’t like Ted as a kid because he was so good at his job. But watching back he’s the perfect heel. Arrogance. The laugh. The slaves/servants. Just epic.
IS it just me, or maybe im off a bit,,,,, but I found it when ted starting talking bout prison,,, they zoom in on virgil. I know Ted had nothing to do with that. But still find it odd!!!
Kevin Enger This was the only time I ever worked with this camera operator and never would again. You are correct. I got home from this weekend of shooting and was equally concerned.
In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Ted DiBiase was ranked at #6 in what is now the WWE.
Wow, the rule of the heels being great people and the babyfaces we loved being not so great people definitely shines here. I hated Ted as a kid, but it doesn't surprise me to find out that he truly is a great human being IRL.
I guess you’re unaware that Ted and his son stole a couple million from charity and were ordered to pay that back in federal court 6 months ago. Great person. Great wrestler. You’re confusing the 2. I don’t care about there personal lives as I watched for entertainment But you throw in how great he is. And you and your son scammed people who donated to a church for a couple million uou Owe. That’s not a great person at all
I think he's mistaken if he thinks people in the prisons can't get a hold of gear and juice if they want to. Kali says in his videos that people approached him in the pen and asked him if he wanted gear.
The problem that Virgil has is that he didn’t save & invest the money he was earning throughout his career. Now, he’s resorted to using deceptive tactics to ‘hussle’ money from the fans who visit his ‘Lonely Virgil’ table at conventions.
Most wrestlers who weren’t backstage that night misrepresent the screwjob. It wasn’t about losing in Canada. Bret even offered to lose the next night in Ottawa. It was about Shawn Michaels telling Bret to his face that he would never put him over after Bret reached out telling him he’d have no problem putting Shawn over. That was the issue. Never mind the fact that it was Vince who backed out of the 20 year contract and then didn’t honor Bret’s creative control which was written in.
I like what Ted said about Bret screwing himself and it didnt matter where he dropped the belt. I get the feeling that Bret thought he was his character in real life. Bret didnt want to believe that the fans didnt know its all staged so in their minds, his character was real life.
I hope Mr McMahon does something to help James Harris. He was very underpaid he would have been helped by a union. I think its strange that Stalin and Hitler shut down the unions. But don't expect a wrestler to know history. Anyway thanks for the happy memories.
Ted DiBiase needs to be realistic the way he is trying to say people can be as big as professional wrestlers are without the use of steroids. ... DiBiase says "You can get just as big from GNC products." ... But GNC products won't give you the side effects of female breasts the way that steroids do - something John Cena suffers from severely.
In the 80's and 90's...it seemed like Most WWF/WWE Wrestlers were coked up to the max...I don't think there were any drug testing at all, because if their cash cow got a positive result, would they risk their profit to suspend him? Hogan was a notorious cocaine user (According to the Ultimate Warrior rant video)...That's why most wrestlers don't get past age 50, because cocaine and steroids make lethal combination
He wrestled on their D show “WCW Saturday night” and had a feud with Stevie Ray over who gets to be the leader of the NWO B-team that absolutely no one cared about
They get roids in the pen too. And you do NOT eat good in prison unless you have alot of money on your books for commissary. Prison food is some of the worst food on earth. In fact alot of prisoners contract hepatitis from the food and the way it's prepared. And they are not for sure about the 24 hour time gap with Benoit's family. And if it is true I doubt he was thinking the whole time given the severity of what he did to his closest loved ones shit for all we know maybe they slipped into a coma as they were dying...or maybe someone else did it n planned it that way. Ted sounds too much like McMahons defender. But Ted is smooth tho. He's finessing
Google Ted. Look how much money Ted and his son stole from the ministry’. Several million dollars. His son and him were ordered to pay back around 2 million. In federal court from July or 2021.
