That 1on1 with The Undertaker phrase was so popular it even made it to the video games. Day of Reckoning 2 on GameCube. Not necessarily the phrase but there is a scene in story mode where you talk to Teddy in the ring and outta nowhere he says drop the cell. Then you go one on one with the Undertaker inside hell in a cell😂😂😂

I remember Teddy from way back in his days as a manager in WCW. I think he was managing Ron Simmons back then. But then I didn't see him on TV for such a long time, so it was kinda wild to flash forward and see him become such a staple of WWE Smackdown.

I always loved that as well as Teddy making it sound like a death sentence, the inevitable heel woud sell it like they were receiving a death sentence themselves. NOBODY wanted to face the Undertaker during that era of Smackdown, they'd do anything to get out of it.

I met Teddy Long at the first WLW show after Harley Race died. I’d been outside and had a good sweat going in the Missouri heat. Teddy was suited and booted. Getting close, putting his arm around me for pictures. I told him I was all sweaty and didn’t want to dirty up his suit. He pulled me in even tighter and said, “playa! If that’s only sweat then we’re all good! Do you know how filthy some of the boys are?” That right there sold me on how cool Teddy Long is. Awesome dude and loves meeting wrestling fans.

That was the by far the best way to book the Undertaker when he returned to the dead man gimmick, book him as the final boss. The fear JBL had in his eyes while Champion also helped, Undertaker was way ahead of everyone else because of how he was used

Teddy is the GOAT GM, because under his reign you could guarentee if anyone came to the ring to cut a promo they would be forced to have a match THAT NIGHT for wasting peoples time talking. And if a bunch of you want to argue in the ring, all of you fight each other. Doesn't matter how many of you there are or if you get along or not. TAG UP. He was the people's GM. Now wrestlers can talk for 15 mins and walk to the back, wasing everyones time.
