Lyrics:
Come on and go with me
Come on over to my place
I don't feel like bein' lonely tonight
You see, I want, I want some company
And you look like you're just my type
You're the kind, you're the kind
Whose spirits are runnin' free
Let's take a sip of some cold, cold wine
And dance to the music nice and slow
And you won't be under any kind of pressure
You see, we'll just let, we'll just let the evenin' flow
Come on and go with me
I'd sure like that, baby
Come on over to my place
It would be so nice, it would be so good
Come on and go with me
Come on over to my place
You look like you're just bored to death
And you wanna get away
You wanna get away from this noisy crowd
Let's go where it's nice and quiet
Where there's nobody, there's nobody else around
Let's sit by a cozy lit fire
And we can be in each other's company
Now how does that sound to you?
You see, 'cause it sounds so good
It sounds so good to me
Come on and go with me
Would you do that, baby?
Come on over to my place
Would you do that, baby?
Would you do that, baby?
Come on and go with me
Come on over to my place
My car's right outside, we can leave right now
That's if you're ready to go
I know you're just beatin' me
You see, I'd understand it
I'd understand it if you said no
But don't you do it, baby
Come on and go with me, come on, baby
(No)
Come on over to my place
(No, not tonight, no)
You see it's not far from here
(I believe you)
Would you just take a minute and think about it?
(Oh, man)
Would you just think about it, think about it? Yeah
(I'm thinkin' about it but I really have to say no)
Come on and go with me
Come on over to my place
(No, I know)
You're sittin' here, you've been sittin' here for quite a long time
(Yeah, I'm slightly bored, I hate bein' bored)
See, I've been watchin' you
(I've been doin' the same thing)
I've had my eyes on you
(I've been checkin' you out all night long)
You look so nice and you look so sweet
(Oh, thank you)
Come on and go with me
(That was sweet)
You look like you oughta be with me
Come on, over to my place
(Yeah, but what are you gonna with me? That's the problem)
Seems that you feel the same way I do
(I think it would pretty interesting)
It seems that you need some company, too
(Oh, boy)
Yeah
Come on and go with me
(You said your car is right outside, right in front)
Come on, over to my place
(And you're gonna bring me home after)
But would it be all right with you?
Come on and go with me
If we left here and we went somewhere else, baby
(Come on over to my place)
Somewhere where it's nice and quiet, nice and quiet
(That's nice, yeah, that sounds a little better than this place)
Where we could sit down by a cozy lit fire
We could sip a little wine, work things out
(Oh, yeah)
Come on and go with me, work things out
(Well, I cannot stay long)
Come on over to my place
(We got an hour, no more than that)
Lady, you won't be under any kinda pressure
(Please, I cannot stand pressure)
I wouldn't do that, baby? No
(Okay, well, would you get my coat?)
See, I wouldn't do that, baby
See, I just wanna sit down
And get to know you a little better
(Okay, just for a little while)
I swear you look so good to me
(Are you gonna pay for my drink?)
Come on over to my place
You look so good to me

Teddy Pendergrass was the sexiest, charismatic, charming greatest singer I have ever heard. I went to his "ladies ionly concert'" and I have not seen a male singer motivate audience like he did the ladies. He said he was lead singer for harold melvin and bluenotes for years and received no recognition or money. He said he had to beg for money for him and rest of band to eat and sometimes sleep. He said one time he asked and was slapped. He said the next day he went solo and the rest was history. Made it to top of charts in weeks. He said he received letters and phone calls from husbands and boyfriends threatening his life because their women were in love with him. He hired guards at home and away and said women still found a way to get into his house. A++ singer True success story.

sharon byrd Huh? Harold Melvin was really ugly and disgusting....having my sweet Teddy beg for money then slapping him like that...... freaking creep......Teddy made him rich and that's how he treated him? Teddy should have punched the daylights out of his hideous self........he would have been fully justified......darn creature that Harold Melvin was......uuugh! Thank God Teddy left that group when he did... just so sorry about his accident..... he was well on his way to even more greatness when it happened. Can you imagine the tremendous success he would have attained? I can just imagine the hell those husbands and boyfriends went through back then, with their women obsessed with Teddy....had I been around, I'm pretty sure I'd have been one of those ladies too.......lol RIP my sweet angel face Teddy!

Teddy had a one in a BILLION voice. A+++ in the sex appeal department. The sound of his golden throat, along with the emotion he packs into this song is ace. His accident was tragic, but he managed to live a long seemingly decent life (a loving family). This song is equally totally brilliant.. I couldn't understand why this wasn't a mega hit.. It had all the elements to make it one. Thanx Mr. Pendergrass for shining so brightly in the heavens for too short a time.. I miss your excellence.

Pendergrass made history for being the first Black singer to have five consecutive platinum albums. His streak ran from 1977’s Teddy Pendergrass to 1981’s It’s Time for Love. 'Come Go With Me,' was on his third album called, 'Teddy' in 1979.

Girl the second he said, "my car 8s outside, we can leave right now! With that command and yearning in his tone, my bags would have been packed and I would have been out the door in the passenger seat before he got his next sentence out. That whole clip you quoted is probably the most passionate lines in a song I've ever heard, along with his performance of it. Good lawd. Teddy teddy teddy!

June 12, 1977 - Teddy Pendergrass goes solo. Beginning as simply a drummer who also happened to have quite a voice, Teddy Pendergrass developed into one of the hottest singers in the world during the mid-70s as part of vocal group Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, but on this day in 1977, he took his meteoric career to the net level, leaving the group and issuing his solo debut album, establishing a solo career that was both brilliant and tragic.

Yes I don't feel like being lonely tonight You see, I want, I want some company And you look like you're just my type See, you're the kind You're the kind whose spirits are runnin' free Let's take a sip of some cold, cold wine And dance to the music nice and slow And you wont be under and kind of pressure You see, we'll just let, we'll just let the evenin' flow So come on and go with me Would you come on over to my place? Would you do that baby? Come on and go with me? Would you come on over to my place? Well You look like you're just bored to death And you wanna get away You wanna get away from this noise and the crowd Let's go where it's nice and quiet Where there's nobody, there's nobody else around Let's sit by a cozy lit fire And we can be in each other's company Now how does that sound to you? You see, cause it sounds so good It sounds so damn good to me So, come on Would you come on over to my place Would you do that, baby? Come on, come on and go with me, that's right Come on over to my place How does that idea sound to you? See my car's right outside, we can leave right now That's if you're ready to go I know you're just meetin' me And you see, I'd understand it I'd understand it if you said no But don't you do it, baby Don't you do that baby (no) Don't you do that baby (no, not tonight, no) No, no, no, no, no (I believe you) Just come on and go with me, that's right (oh, man) See, I like what I see, I like what I see (I've been watchin' you too) I gotta have you baby (I've been checkin' you out all night long) All right (that sounds nice) Anything you wanna do is alright baby Just come on, just come on (well, you said your car's right outside)
