Teddy Pendergrass in my opinion is one of the top 10 greatest male singers of his era. Along with Marvin Gaye, Lou Rawls, Barry White and Luther Van Dross. Teddy was a great looking man and had style . So badly missed.

If you haven't seen the documentary "If you don't know me" I suggest getting a copy. It is well worth the money. I have watched it multiple times. He really must jave been one hell of a man because all the woman they interviewed who dated him still speak so highly and fondly of him. Truly amazing!!

There is a documentary floating around about how these great African American singers who controlled by organized crime and had to play local mainly black clubs and bars. Teddy’s manager, if I recall, took advantage of him and his finances as did Harold Melvin before he went solo. It was a whole underground network of clubs and bars that rips off these great AA singers.
