I'll give y'all a jewel I never heard anybody else mention anywhere: Teddy Riley sneak dissed them back in a smooth way. They tried to take Teddy's beat and 2Pac was screaming on the track about how they wasn't rocking it right. Teddy's very next single with Blackstreet? "Don't Leave Me Girl," which used the same sample as "I Ain't Mad Atcha." I see you Teddy 😂 That was smooth. I can't be the only person in the world who caught that back then.
I hope we don't skip that this man flipped the RUGRATS theme and made a classic hit on a Nicklodeon movie. "Take me there" Mya, Mase, Backstreet and Blinky Blink
@@shesbaldbutiwould he became a millionaire off the beats headphones... Dre fell off for a few years before he found Eminem... don't revise history to be a hater lol
@@ZYaKnoe249 Dre was already a millionaire before beats. And he didn’t actually fall off. Dre is a major reason why Nas gained popularity when they did The Firm. Dre was also producing music for other artist as well during that period.
Funny thing is most so called 2pac fans have no idea “Run tha streetz” is a remake of “Piece of my love” by Teddy Riley with Guy. Good job for mentioning that Vlad.
Funny because as a young whippersnapper, I wondered why Toss It Up had some sort of No Diggity in some parts of the song. R.I.P to the G.O.A.T, 2Pac Amaru Shakur.
Man I remember hearing no diggity in one of my friends car back in the day. He had 4 12's in the trunk of his Lac...I had no idea how hard that song pounded until I heard it then 💯
Haaa. I had the exact same experience with that song Get Low by Lil John. I never paid the song no attention til one day I was in this electronics superstore. They starting blasting it outta the car audio dept. I was waaaaaaaay over on the other side of the store, and the bass still knocked. I went from not paying attention to that song, to downloading as soon as I got home.
@@AtHaven I can't listen to No Diggity in my Polaris Slingshot like that.. Toss It Up is literally a banger bro beat hits harder and that song is more of my speed lol slow a.s no diggity 😂
Toss it Up always had a bittersweet vibe to it knowing that was the last music video Pac & he was dissing Dre but regardless it’s still one of my favorite songs from him
How can some non-players do a song about tossing it up And then want to do a player song? Teddy Riley, Who? Puffy? Who? Yeah we took yall beat, cause you wasn't rocking it right! Tired of suckers rocking beats that don't belong to them, Toss it up, its on! it's out there now, it's our beat now
@@rodinowright6591 wat u mean about the R.Kelly part?? Yea dey shelved her she was Tryna be on that G@y stuff back then it wasn't poppin now it would be just Fine

But he's right tho.... I never liked No Diggity. And I am still shocked at the popularity...... but as I got older....I get it...... but he's right about the long term success of the song
When did Tupac diss Teddy? I thought he only dissed Dre. I remember Danny Boy and Aaron Hall during their parts and the post song parts taking shots at Teddy
If you listen really closely near the end of the song, Pac says "Teddy Riley, Who". It's really tough to hear it doe with the noise of singers and backing track, you will need razor sharp hearing to catch it.
Tupac would make the producer switch that shiit up Death Row style. Johnny J didn't do this beat,so Tupac had to have a hand in doing that. He wanted to stick it to Dre for leaving and the bs Sugar was putting in his head.
Too many people on here talking what they don't know. If the man says he was dissed on 'Toss it up' then he was. That's the problem with people today. Think they know everything and don't listen.
True...but also people can think things are happening to them when they are not so Teddy saying he got dissed doesn't make it 100% true. I guess the only people who can say if Toss It Up was a Teddy diss is those on the track
2Pac didn’t put nobody else name into it but Dre but when u hear him on tha end hollerin, “AND WE TOOK YALL BEAT” to me that meant everbody involved with that song from top to bottom caught slugs too
I really never got into that song,no diggity,it just wasn’t my cup of tea.there are songs from the 90’s that when they initially came out I wasn’t with it but they grew on me when I became an adult.for one,I understood the subject matter,it became not just about melody but also the musicality of a song. I started enjoying music different as an adult(90’s and early 2000’s being my fav era).no diggity however I still can’t get jiggy to it
This is when Tupac lost his damn mind...mainly thanks to Suge's influence. Dre did the smart thing and saw the writing on the wall with Death Row and Suge and got tf outta there.
Teddy is reaching on being dissed on Toss It Up. The song was clearly a diss towards Dre; Teddy was just caught in the crossfire when mentioned in the outro because No Diggity was Blackstreet's joint. And Aaron Hall might of had an affiliation to Teddy with Guy, but he doesn't diss him whatsoever. His verse is about ladies and big booties.
@@jondoe-du2fr Cause people with brains would know that. Aaron was mad at Teddy and Pac rode with people he was cool with so if Aaron had a problem with Teddy so would Pac. And how do you get a Teddy use a beat of his
It was an indirect diss. You’re right, no words were said to diss him but the pettiness was there. The “you gonna use our old producer” then we gonna “use your old front man”
@@ysaakwisdom9414 I hear that. But based on what we all know about Pac - he wasn't indirect about ANYTHING. If he wanted to diss you, you knew about it. Using Aaron Hall was indeed strategic, but I still don't feel it would constitute a diss to the extent that Teddy is trying to claim it was... I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Pac went after everyone that attack him first, when Dr. Dre left " DEATH💺ROW " he worked with NAS on the message. Prior to that song Nas never said anything negative about 2Pac, listen to the first bars of that song and ask yourself who is Nas speaking of? That was Dre using NAS as his " LAPDOG ", in the South it's called, " Throwing Rocks, Then Hiding Your Hand." The behavior of " COWARDS ", remember Dre doesn't write raps, he's just a Producer.
@@kelvinbentley2777 If you’re referring to that “fake thugs get no love” line, that was not directed at Pac. (Nas wasn’t Dre’s lap dog either) That whole mess was a misunderstanding addressed by Pac & Nas and it was squashed. Listen to Napoleon’s interview & he talks about it, talked about how Pac showed love for Nas afterwards and was going to remove any references to Nas off of his Machiavelli album and they were supposed to chop it up in Vegas but got killed before he had a chance to.
You know what? Maybe I'm crazy but it would have been a possibility if Pac was on the original version. it may have been even bigger; however, the song is still a classic and favorite of mine
All to often " GENIUSES " are called Crazy, because they think outside the box. It would've been a " HUGE HIT " if Pac was on the Original Track Of No Diggity, instead of Dr. Dre. It also would've been " BETTER " to put Pac on the Remix of " If You Need A Fix ", instead of Old Dirty Bastard. It would've been a " CLUB BANGER ", because Women loved that song.
I dead thought Blackstreet was joining in on Dre's Super Bowl. Em came out to "I aint Mad at ya" which is the same Debarge sample on Stay.." dont leave me"!
I never did really like No Diggity the song it seemed a little bit to slow although I've always been off into people like James Brown and Barry White and Al Green and of course Aretha Franklin and the Temptations those types of songs and then after a while I said to myself give the song a chance and just really listen to it and then I did and then I actually started to like the song.
I never really liked No Diggity I can’t believe it went on to be such a big hit. It was just alright to me. I would’ve thought Remember the time would end up being his biggest song ever
Ice Cube said when be wrote Friday he had Snoop in mind to play Smokey but he knew Suge wouldn't let him do it unless it was something outrageous he was gettin in return and I'm talking about Suge
~Damn....how yall treat our Greats like Teddy Riley ..puttin pressure on him like that?...LOLOLOL...Thats messed up........Shout out the legendary Teddy Riley.....1LOVE
