For once we have in France a greatest champion. (That's humour, there are a few other ones) My son met him a few years ago when he worked in an hotel. He acknowledged that he was physically impressive but was also a very approachable and friendly person. I add an anecdote : the first name of my son is Teddy and they are the same age.

I am black belt with a first dan with the double points to get second dan. But it was there is a long time and I was young (and kata was not my thing, I prefered the fight...). I did participed at champion France when I was junior. So, I think to know what is the competition. And concerning this champ, I think can say a few words. Really, this guy is a monster of judo. He smells the judo (in France, for a really gooooooood guy or woman for a sport, we say a really bad words "il pue le..." -smell bad...- because they really smell in their bodies this sport, they live with, they dream with, they eat with). Like says Ilias, toher Monster od judo, Illadis, that I love "this guy is the judo star". And together they repespect and love their like we saw in training sessions. Seing this videos, we can to see her talent and all marvellous qualities of judoka. Enjoy to see really this champ, we will be not see him everyday... And one day, we will be regret...........

He's incredible but to be honest none of the competitors he faced are as big as he is, so it's hard to judge how good he actually would be on an even playing field. I think they should put a cap on weight even for heavyweights, like 120kg
