Awesome watching Gabe and Susan eyeballin' back and forth for vocal cues! Look at Gabe trying to look around Dereks back to see who gets the next phrase! Classic! Cheers! Can't wait to see you in Bend OR, 8/27/22!
This is a good quality recording. Thank you for properly taping this on a tripod and using a zoom, as well as using good quality audio equipment. So refreshing to hear a great recording of a live band! It is totally appropriate to see a band member turn around and adjust the volume on the Fender amplifier to get the sound she needs. This is a really good recording and the reality and sincerity come through. Fine band, Fine recording.
So good! Susan Tedeschi tearing it up vocally and guitar playing, great vocals by the keyboard player plus the incomparable Derek Trucks and they are playing a Blind Faith tune!
I love that second verse where you can see Susan anticipating that note Gabe is going to hit in his vocal and the big grin when he does it. Live music at its best.
I love this version. I think the keyboard player does a great job with this song, but really... it was custom made for Ms Trucks voice , and she just kill her part!
I'm finally after all these years convinced that theres nobody in the world who can play better than Derek Trucks, nobody. And Susan and that keyboard player put on a clinic for vocals, that was amazing!
Susan Tedeschi playing amazing solos on a Gibson Les Paul and singing with her molasses golden voice - what more could a man want in life. 😍 Derek is a very lucky man.
Well done, lovely tune, lovely performance. Remember seeing the Blind Faith performance originally of this in Detroit some time ago. Miss Gingers' plodding metronomic skill, but this is so very nice. Thanks to you all.
@@spacko539 Blind Faith had Ginger Baker & Eric Clapton from Cream in the group. Of course since Steve Winwood wrote this song you might also says it's the Traffic legacy as well.
Very underwhelmed w joe.. I've seen Clapton more times than anybody over 500 shows from diverse genres.. and Eric isn't even the best.. Beck page Blackmore Zappa Vai Van Halen Allan Holdsworth Pat Metheny Leo Kottke Michael Hedges Robert Fripp Adrian belew BB King Albert Collins Buddy Guy anyone from the Los Angeles guitar quartet Jerry Douglas Steve Howe Steve Hackett Steve Stevens Steve Cropper Steve Morse Stephen Stills Trevor Rabin Robin Trower Carlos Santana Cesar Rosas David Hilgado Brian Setzer Stanley Jordan Alex lifeson Billy Gibbons Tom Morello Jerry Cantrell Dickey Betts Warren Haynes Jimmy Herring Stevie Ray Vaughan I had the distinct pleasure of seeing seven times Al Di Meola Johnny Winter the guitarist from Maceo Parker back in the 90s Alvin Lee Trey Anastasio Jerry Garcia Mike Campbell Martin Barre I was supposed to see toy Caldwell few weeks before he passed Big Al Anderson Peter Frampton Vernon Reid John Frusciante Andy Summers and I know I'm missing some but I'll take all these players before bonamassa.. all these players don't have to advertise that they are one of the "greatest"players ever.. but Jo does.. maybe that adds to one of the reasons why I'm underwhelmed
Superb ! Would make Steve Winwood proud I think . What a voice on Gabe ! Very nice wah wah solo by Susan and her always great voice. And Derek doing a little solo for him . Just hate do see them playing what appears to be such a small venue .
Love it love it love it. So glad they are covering this underrated song. See the blind faith- Hyde park version- Outrageous. All the greatest bands have multiple voices.
I think it's funny how many dudes want to say Susan's only okay on guitar, like they find such a possibility surprising. We've all been watching "okay" guitarists our whole life sprinkled with great ones. Susan's talents far surpass so many dudes I've seen in my day it's a joke. Listen to her -- them -- here, experiment, reach, branch out. They're rocking Blind Faith, for god's sake. And all some of you can say is, "Susan's only okay"? On a Blind Faith song. With Derek Trucks. Okayyyy.
@@mikegallagher2732 Come on. She can play, but there are literally thousands of players better than her. I could name 100 easy right off the top of my head. Hendrix, SRV, Beck, Alan Holdsworth, Prince, John Mayer, Santana, Alex Lifeson, EVH, Dimebag, Rhoads, Tom Morello, Jake E Lee, John Sykes, Yngwie, Vai, Satriani, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, Eric Gales, Gary Clark Jr, Bonamassa, Lang, KWS, Kingfish, Samantha Fish, Joanna Connor, Jackie Venson, Deborah Coleman, Petrucci, Skolnick, Devin Townsend, Tosin Abasi, John 5....., and those are the ones that come to mind immediately. Hell, Trucks blows her away right in this same video. She isnt even close to his level.
At a show years back this drunk (?) guy came up to me four or five times (he thought I was another person each time I’m pretty sure) & kept talking about how beautiful she is (she is!) …and that she can play guitar well for a girl. That combined with being “hot”. Other than the fact that it was hilarious given he thought he was saying this to different people each time I was like ummmm…. Whaaaat?! And im sorry bro but if she were beautiful or not she plays guitar beautifully & that’s what matters

Passionate vocals and crunchy guitar solos of Susan and Derek. Blind Faith would be amazed of this performance. A song with some unusual chord progressions, but gives a lot of space for guitar solos, right? And a funny moment of the keyboardist up from 6:20 in the course of the ongoing technical problems. That`s live music, isn`t it`? Thanks for posting.
For all the people wondering about the “Lay out”, seems like Derek didn’t want another guitar in the mix so he could take out his in-ears and hear his guitar sound. I don’t think this was some marital problems, I think the band/venue was just not having a good sound day, it happens. Edit: In his Rig Rundown from a few years back, Derek’s tech says he doesn’t use/like in-ear monitors, this could be him wanting to try them and it’s just not working.
6:37 - that was very odd moment, ''shut up while I do a great solo'' I didn't see Derek not playing during her solo she looked bored haha - fantastic cover and Vox from both singers! love it!!!
I think you’re misinterpreting what he’s doing, seems like he’s telling her to lay out so he can take out his monitors and hear himself to make sure everything sounds right. I don’t think he’s some self righteous asshole who hates when his wife solos lol.
I believe you're spot on their Jacob because he Taps her and it goes hits his pedal and rips his monitor out and the thing that killed me not only a great cover but her reaction every time Gabe pins the high note I saw them look Park in Massachusetts and they killed it I saw her twice in Springfield Mass when she was just start now and she was phenomenal and I saw the brothers many times but not with Derek which I'm very remiss however I will see Tedeschi Trucks every chance I get from now going forward
