This is old video footage of an absolutely spectacular band. The slide (Derek Trucks) is married to the lead singer (Susan Tedeschi). His uncle is Butch Trucks, original drummer for The Almann Brothers Band. The Hammond player (Kofi Burbridge) passed away in 2019 and played with his brother on bass (Oteil Burbridge). Oteil left the band in 2012 and eventually landed with the infamous Grateful Dead and Company (A Grateful Dead ressurection) alongside John Mayer and 3 other original members of Grateful Dead (They are currently on thier farewell tour). This song was written by Mike Mattison, the tall background singer in this video, and was released in 2011. Many consider it to be one of thier finest effort..... I certainly do! This explosive duo now hovers over the small world of blues-rock with majesty, but above all, with mad talent! In 2016, Derek Trucks ended a 15-year collaboration with the legendary Allman Brothers Band, which also included his uncle. In my mind The Tedeschi Trucks Band are playing music in the same vein or vibe as the following artists and albums: Delaney and Bonnie's “Live on Tour with Eric Clapton”, Joe Cockers “Mad Dogs and Englishmen”, Derek and the Dominoes “Layla and Other Assorted Love songs”. All of those were seventies bands/albums, and we do not have anything similar today except for, of course, The Tedeschi Trucks Band. Arguably the greatest live band touring today. They are unique, with soulful R&B mixed with a bit of jazz and rock. Many of the greatest artist of this and previous generations have proudly walked on stage with them for stunning performances of emotion and musicianship. They have a huge following and there are literally tens of thousands of fan recordings of their live shows on RU-vid. Derek Trucks is the only guitarist that can, on occasion, make me cry by soloing. Mesmerizing talent. Unfortunately, the organ player Kofi Burbridge died from a stroke a few years back. Sad. Cheers Rory 🍺

Dude! I love Tedeschi Trucks band! Derek Trucks is one of the best slide guitar players ever. You should do their cover of The Sky is Crying at the Royal Albert Hall. They also have a great Tiny Desk Concert that would be worth checking out.

Tedeschi is Susan Tedeschi and Trucks is Derek Trucks. They are now, and for a while, have been a married couple, both with excellent musical chops. Susan had solid a solo career before meeting Derek, and Mr. Trucks had been on the road with The Allman Brothers Band since he was 19 or so. And together they make this one of the best musical acts on tour these days.

You've seen them both before on the John Paul Jones, When The Levee Breaks video that had loads of different musicians on it from lots of different countries.

Derick Trucks is phenomenal, but Susan is a great guitarist as well as a great singer, Check out her skills on "I Pity The Fool" live at the Orpheum 12/4/21 or "Just Won't Burn" 11/ 29/22 Boston Mass and be prepared to be blown away. She is incredible.

Derek Trucks is the best guitarist alive today.

I first saw Derick Trucks play with John Mayall and Coco 16:23 Montoya when he was about 10 years old. Fast forward, I am working in a night club restaurant and Susan is playing. Derick walks in. I think it might have been when they first met. Coleys Bar, Sarasota Florida.
