This is a mammoth job! I have booked for Rustival and will look forward to seeing both you and the Cortina hopefully. I admire your perseverance and showing what you can achieve without full workshop facilities. Hopefully your neighbours are more sympathetic than mine when it comes to bodywork repairs!
Maybe the bits in the tank are remains of an old locking petrol cap, probably the keys were lost and the cap forced off causing the broken bits to drop down the filler neck into the tank.
Hey Simone. 😂 to the L&B reference. You know Mr Ben T C would approve. Stick at the welding while the sun shines . I'm no welder so I take my tiny hat off gal ❤
That’s going to keep you busy for a while. I’d love to help but we’re too far away from each other sadly. Probably better to repair it once and have it done then do a temporary fix and have the rust spread further
Ah Simone I understand how devastating it is to find rust like. We also have a Blue Cortina, you have have done some excellent welding on TeeCee in the past so you can definitely sort this out and we will see you at Rustival 2.0. just do your best. I would advise you spending as much time cavity wax treatment and surface treatment as you do welding though, rust is a cruel master
Sorry I missed you earlier i was live on my Gaming channel playing Truck sim😂. A fair bit of work Simone but I know you well enough to know you can do it. 👍 Its nice to see you have some sun.
Well that escalated, as it always does when you start to pick at the scabs! 3 months to Rustival.. still do-able! Is the other side as bad?! Perhaps once its all wire wheeled back to good metal, treated and covered in Weld through primer it won't look so daunting... Sorry to see its this bad Simone.
i have the same thing to do on my cortina simone my rear quaters inners are as bad my inners have gone dont even have any hahaha you have got this just look at it for a bit and picture it in your head all nice and crack on hehe thank you for watching my cortina mk4 project looks like we both have our hands full if i was you i would do what im going to do and paint all the underbody at the back with rust treatment its primes it at the same time as killing the rust and will protect it then get some stone chip and pray it all over will look good and keep the rust away protect that hard work your putting in
