The 101-pound fish was caught by 15-year-old Jaylynn Parker Sunday while jug fishing, and her mom Kristen knew they had a record winner once it got to the bank.
That is awesome if the young lady caught it but I don't see making a fuss out of something that was jug fishing if it would have been a fishing pole that would have been different and maybe a video with her reeling it in something sounds fishy to me fellas no pun intended
That is a monster catfish! Can you imagine the adrenaline dump from catching a catfish that big! The largest fish I have ever caught was a 23 pound carp out at lake Isabella in Loveland Ohio. At that time it was the biggest fish of the week and I won a free day of fishing that I used later that summer. I caught that 23 pound carp on a nightcrawler with a bobber. I just set up shop and got my poles in the water. My smallest pole was the one that caught the carp and I wasn’t sure if I could get him to the bank or not with only a 15 pound test line. But I did,my buddy used the net to scoop him up. I slipped on the railroad trusses that surround the lake and my left foot went into the water up to my knee caps. I had to fish the rest of the night barefoot, but it was worth it! Haha
There is no skill to catching fish using jugs. Same thing with using trot lines. All she did is add a hook and bait to a line attached to a a bunch of jugs. Waited a couple hours and pulled in the jugs. In many states this type of fishing is illegal.
It’s a massive fish. The smart way to catch it is the way she caught it obviously. If you don’t want to break a record like she did I guess you would just use a rod & reel, but fishing should be evolved enough to be done the best way.
Bad news for your joke, being that close in weight, it would likely be a tie. Most people do not realize, but record fish rules gives a buffer, and if you do not exceed that buffer it is ruled a tie. That is why multiple records are held by more than one person. Maybe the most famous record is the largemouth bass record, which was held since 1932, and in 2009 it was broken, but because his fish did not weight more than the buffer, the record is held by two men. Perry has held the record since 1932, and now he holds the record with Kurita. Different weight, but because the rules say to break the record you must catch a fish that weighs a specific amount more, if you do not it is ruled a tie. Just catching a fish that weighs more does not give you the record. They do this because scales can be off by a few ounces, so to make it fair they require the weight exceed a buffer, or they rule it a tie. So if you catch a fish that weighs 101lbs, and someone else catches one that weighs 102lbs, their catch may not exceed the buffer weight, so y'all would share the record.
She didn't catch the fish. She trapped the fish so don't go patting her on the back just yet. The girl power crap. Well that's just stupi. A man had to have lifted it in the boat as well as set the jug. She said she wasn't touching the fish it was to big
I think that's a big accomplishment but the fact you all made such a big deal ab her being a girl is sad I understand it's a male dominated sport but I see jus as many women fishing as I see men in most spots I've been
