Why are there two decades of "shark expert's" on "shark week saying" Sharks don't eat humans? If they eat license plates and seals they probably eat everything in between. Marine biologists are morons and I hope there's an action lawsuit
No yes they do and i'm tired of everyone saying this. Shark infested just means a lot of sharks in a given body of water yes they do live there but there just happened to be a lot of sharks here.
Yeahhhh that definitely gave me pause.. not sure what point he was trying to make with the “that’s what happens when you’re in a passionate relationship and women should know that” 🤨🤨
The saddest part is that nobody cared enough to try to stop him from doing some stupid, dangerous, drunken stunt. He died trying to impress those that CLEARLY didn't give a shit about him. The clear message is: Stop crossing oceans for those that wouldn't hop a puddle for you.
@@TheSfsdfds There are conflicting reports. You are right in most it is not mentioned. I guess we will only know when someone who was there speaks up. But yeah it seems thx to alcohol and being young and naive he did this to himself on his own.
I can only imagine the state of fear and regret this kid felt in his final moments. Tim's rant is hilarious but it just goes to show that one dumb split second decision can fast track you for a darwin award.
Speaking of Darwin contenders, a guy in my building came home on who knows what drugs late at night and decided to do pull ups off his balcony... He fell to his death. Not sure he had the lucidity to have those last moments of retrospective though. RIP still
If you think you're invincible, your life has simply been too easy. Regardless of age. It should not be a natural way of being. I imagine his friends probably won't even learn from this.
Getting eaten by a shark IS a pretty badass way to go; regardless of the terror and the agonizing seconds it would've taken for him to bleed out in the ocean as he was viciously eaten by a wild animal. The kids in my hometown would just get drunk and wrap themselves around a telephone pole.
Stories like these make me proud to be an anxious over thinker. My mind operates like the show “1000 ways to die” I see everything as a potential risk and will weigh my options accordingly
Jumping off of a cruise ship at night in warm waters is like jumping into a vat of acid. Sharks follow those cruise ships for the ecosystem their runoff creates. They are most active at night. No doubt he was taken by a shark.
@@witt416 it's likely a shark...my guess is the buoy was thrown in first which gave him the confidence to jump, and the shark probably surfaced right there out of curiosity. Sharks are drawn to splashing and it makes complete sense they would trail the ships for food scraps
@@officialspaceefrain You have to go out of your way to actually fall off a ship. Most, if not all, people who go overboard on today's cruise ships do it on purpose.
When I was 18 I jumped out a boat in a swamp full of gators and they all swam away from me and I climbed back in the boat and we laughed about it and I was a bad azz. It took me a long time to realize it was dumb to jump in that water
I used to be in the Marines and I went on deployment with my crew, a lot of the guys would come back after deployment with 15 or 20 grand saved in the bank and would get themselves killed in all sorts of ways from fast cars, drunk driving, drug overdose
That’s life in a nutshell. You think any rich kids are joining the marines? Their is a reason why all the recruiting offices are in poor/ghetto city/towns. Sad part most of the kids come from poor/broken homes. Some make it out some don’t. At the end of the day 100 years later none of us will even be remembered so who cares 😁
And there’s an entire political movement founded on young people like that not just having wealth comparable to people who’ve worked and saved for decades. Force a stockpile of wealth (not even totally unearned wealth) on some of them and it’s quickly a tragedy.
It def brought up a conversation between me and my sons to not do dumb shit to impress people. Not that I haven't said it before but this is a stark example of how impulsive decisions ruin lives. And like Tim said, save them as well.
You can hear Cameron scream at the end, he was taken by a large Tiger Shark; as they frequently roam those waters. Party boats are notorious for throwing discarded food overboard, which is a dinner bell; and the Tiger Shark is an opportunistic predator. When the life saver was tossed in the water a smaller shark reacted thinking it was food, and the bigger threat zeroed in on Cameron the second he hit that water.
We're the only species to effectively escape the food chain, but it's always out there waiting... Waiting for any of us to slip up and welcome us back. Could be a swarm of bees, could be a bear or mountain lion, but it's always out there just out of sight.
Literally the only person to do satire correctly. Others will be unfunny and say it's satire to make it seem like they're saying something, but Tim will go all out and say exactly what you're not supposed to say.
I was Cameron as a young man. Racing cars, jumping off bridges, blowing things up with homemade bombs, swimming in rapids, etc etc. One day, I was talking to my dad and he was telling me about a man who was at lowes just shopping and a lift machine knocked a pallet off from the other side of the aisle and it crushed and killed him. I had just wrecked a dirt bike that day goin 80 and was still surprised I was unscathed. And I remember saying, "its not really fair, I'm always doing dumb stuff and this guy was just shopping and gets taken." I grew up a bit that day. I don't think Cameron was a dumb kid who deserved to die. He was just a kid who didn't get the chance to grow up.
Incredibly well put, life can be incredibly cruel and unfair, gotta be grateful if you’re able to learn from your mistakes, because some people don’t get the chance to
Seeing Tim truly care about these young kids is touching. I mean it. These kids need to know this is dangerous and coming from an adult who would be everyone's cool uncle is the best way to hear it.
1 friend of mine was sitting on the tailgate of a pickup while his drunk brother drove. he fell, hit his head, died instantly. another friend drove himself into a semi after running away from the air force. another two, a couple, from a motorcycle crash. another from fentanyl. all 18-20.
@@RicketyRocketyRoowhat’s up with everyone dying so young. My other friend, 19, was shot and killed in a public park bathroom. Some sort of deal gone wrong.
There is a local watering hole near my house, it has a large cliff to jump from. There is about a 3ft circle to jump into. If you miss that area you die or break many many bones. Every year minimum one guy dies and several injuries occur. Many signs warn about danger. News stories every year. People still jump.
Tim just needs to gradually get more expensive and gaudy sunglasses until they're eventually a hinderance to his life and he has to hire interns to help lift and turn his head
Actually being born and raised in Louisiana, the beginning rant is so true. The deaths around gradustion was so sad. Drunk driving, hunting accidents, and trying to impress people. There was a death from a dare which involves the train tracks while a train was coming. The high schooler died.
I went to a school/boot camp/cult for fucked up kids lot of them ended up dying young. One kid died on his birthday doing graffiti in a train tunnel bc he couldn’t out run an oncoming train.
Tell her to keep track of her bra so her dad doesn't find it in the morning on the driveway 😂 Aah aah dad I have no idea how that happened 🤷? Dad didn't believe that obviously 🤣
Not only shark infested waters, but this kid also jumped off a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean at night. Even with a buoy you're most likely going to die by getting stranded and drowning or dehydration. Be safe, break a leg but don't kill yourself
I was in the Bahamas when it happened!! I was there for my sons senior trip and we had 6 moms and 6 boys. It wasn’t a “cruise ship” but more like a catamaran “sunset booze cruise”. This group had hundreds of kids from Louisiana with very little chaperones!! So the cautionary tale is not to let your 18 year old travel to another country unsupervised (or at least very little supervision). We heard that he was dared to jump off. Can’t imagine the guilt of the ones doing the daring
If i were this kid, i would want this as my eulogy. I think this is the most respectful take on things like this. Give the kid what he wanted, a badass story
I can’t stop thinking about how his last minutes were... I had just gotten back from my first cruise (also to the Bahamas) a couple weeks before this happened. Even if the shark attack wasn’t immediate, IT IS DARK OUT THERE!!! We’d admire our balcony view at night, it was beautiful but super scary at the same time. I can only imagine that lit, loud boat getting quieter and tinier as it goes off into the distance… Until eventually, it’s just you, the sound of waves and pure blackness all around… 😖 I don’t wish that fate on anyone but he did it to himself…
@@spritemultipackat least the crew of the Indianapolis had debris and lifeboats to cling to, not to mention dozens of your fellow sailors in the same situation. I can’t imagine being completely alone in that situation
He is a cautionary tale and as horrible as his death was I think it might stop some reckless people from making the biggest mistake of their lives. Hopefully some teenagers will think twice now.
The kid that jumped and the kid that said "bye bye" we're just uneducated and didn't think dying was a possibility not to mention very likely from jumping off a cruise ship.
Yea too many ppl are getting triggered because people said something while reacting to tragedy, in real time, as a result of somebody doing something dumb and careless.
If I jumped into shark infested waters, I'd die of a heart attack immediately, long before a single shark could bite. I'd straight go out like a gopher.
Even more chilling if he wasn't eaten by a shark and instead just watched the ship disappear out of reach, left in the black abyss of the ocean to tread water as long as he could until exhaustion overcame him and he drowned. Horrible way to go.
The is most likely what happened. You cannot see a shark from water level, especially in the dark. You might see a fin but in the dark i doubt it.... The splashing is like the ripples from when he jumped in hitting the side of the boat. A current might have just pulled him off
Look at what cruises do to water that’s far away from them. It’s well known that it’s very easy to get sucked underneath a large boat. Now what’s weird is that he seems to be consciously evading something, and it’s well know sharks follow cruises at that spot. The fact that they haven’t found him kinda says it all though. So regardless of how he died he was eaten by sharks.
We don't know he said it maliciously. Kid was drunk like all of them and another kid jumps off. Bye bye is just a drama comment that he couldn't believe it.
@happy777abc drunk or not, that was extremely out-of-pocket. Being inebriated isn't an excuse for being a heartless asshole, if anything, it reveals their true character. I knew a lot alcoholics during my 20s that I no longer associate with because the things they would say & do was indicative of their character. It wasn't just because they were drunk that I stop hanging around them, it was because they really were careless assholes that I lost patience & desire for.
@@ApotheosiZ and that's one view. Lots of people I know who drank a lot, hundreds of island locals, were not heartless at all. The guy who said it may not have remembered a thing and may have been merely walking by to the bar as he saw someone swimming. Bye bye can mean, dude how are gonna get in the boat!? The person may have had no idea that he was going to die any moment. They were on a booze cruise for fun and celebrating. The last thing the kid would process was the star baseball, who can swim strongly is gonna die. He was just having a good time celebrating. I have zero interest in alcohol. I stopped at age 17, as I played too many sports to want to drink. But many childhood friends neighbors and acquaintances that did drink were not mean nor vindictive. I choose to see the best in people. There is no way to read what was in the kids mind who say bye bye. Absolutely zero way to know.
@happy777abc you can literally hear the disrespect, and the "you're going die" affect in his voice. It was careless & malicious, the kid who said that is an asshole. Why would you even try to argue against that? You're betting on a shitty horse.
This one time we were cliff jumping off crazy ledges into lakes in highschool, most of us did the normal jumps but there was a crazy jump only one guy did. A few of us tried to get enough courage to jump (including me) I would look back and be upset at myself for not doing it because I was scared. Now I'm happy I didn't jump, being paralyzed or dying not worth it. Don't try to be cool, being cool is knowing your limits.
Like so many others lost at sea, though I think seeing the video is what makes it more chilling to all of us viewing it in the safety of our homes on land
I’m glad you came out fine, with that being said there is no right or wrong way to raise kids. Some kids thrive in a shit environment and other detoriate with a golden spoon. Give your self credit as much as you give your parents.
@Quincy Payne I don’t mean mistreating the kids but some do better experiencing hardships and it can build great character. I’ve seen to many family meme bets given every opportunity and given everything and the result is drug use and jail. I’ve seen it first hand.
Meh, I was raised as well as you could raise a kid, parents stayed together, never any abuse, would come pick me up with no questions from parties, praised honesty with them, and I still did stupid things. I've always been terrified of heights, so I never would have done this, but I can look back at my younger years and see the many ways I could have died. Hell, I was in the honors dorm at LSU my first semester in college, on the same campus where this kid was from, and that first weekend in the dorm with the best of the best of Louisiana was the wildest scene I've ever seen in my life. Kids passed out in the stairwells, at least two different ambulance calls, and I had tons of random knocks on my dorm room from people who could hardly stand up straight, it was like the college parties you see in movies. People that age just don't make smart decisions.
Same in a way. I was 18 at Woodstock 99. When the event was done, everyone was setting fires and looting stores. Not me. I just wanted to go home and get stoned.
That's so chilling to watch as this child goes missing right in front of everyone, as his parents never got stay goodbye or tell him how dumb that would be to jump.
yeah worst part is you know the mom or dad probably telling themselves now " I knew the cruise wasn't a good idea" That's something they will have to live with forever given they were the ones who had to consent his departure. That's a type of death that can bring down a whole family. They will forever question their judgment and have to harbor the humility of the kids poor judgment. ROUGH
@@308AlYsSa0034 😂 yes. I’m fine. Happy and alive and on land smoking a blunt and getting high. Being able to look back to when I was 18 and at Woodstock. I had fun. Yet I didn’t do anything that would put my in bodily danger like Cameron. Cameron can’t look back at 42 like I can because he when he was 18, he did something that put him in great risk and the shark won. I’m soooo happy this man never got to reproduce. 😅😅😅😅😅
It’s impossible for me to sympathize even though I’m trying. I was always the wet blanket of my friends’ group growing up because I seemed to be the only one aware of the consequences for stupid decisions. The ugly truth about kids that age is that if you gave them the choice between having 15 minutes of fame or finding the cure for cancer, they’re gonna go with fame every time. Teenagers have no humanity whatsoever. It’s a time in a person’s life where the ONLY thing on their mind is “how can I draw more attention to myself?”
