Me and my dad would play this on the NES back in the mid 90's when I was like 5 or 6 years old, seeing it again gave me the most pleasant kind of nostalgia..
You know something in the cowabunga collection I played the one that was on the NES more than I play the arcade in other words the arcade version doesn't take very long to beat
NES version with these graphics would be much better. If it wasn't controlled by Konami, port only the best games to PC on Steam. Would have been better then the travesty that is the latest game.
This game really got fun when you had 2 to 4 people playing it at the same time who were all really skilled at the game. You could then work as a team and kick some ass.
In the early 90’s a man by the name of Marc Glassman owned a small chain of discount grocery stores in NE Ohio called “Marc’s”. After gaining popularity, he bought out some of the local Chuckie Cheese and rebranded them, “Marc’s Funtime Pizza Palace”. This was my first legitimate memory of an arcade. Imagine being 5 seeing a video game have its own house towering over you playing its demo along with the artwork on the panels. I won’t ever forget the bliss of having zero cares in the world and these games help recreate that with my kids. Cherish that shit.
Right now as I'm writing (wrote) this, I've watched your play up to you taking out Rocksteady AND Bebop, and I gotta say, MAN, you're good. I'll catch the rest momentarily.
Oh man this brings back a whole bunch of great memories of when my Nan used to take me to Lee-On-Solent (when I was a kid) and I used to play this in the arcade.
I normally don't like arcade playthroughs with more than 1 coin, but I appreciate the fact you tried to spend the least credits possible. Raphael is the hardest character in this game, he doesn't even have that 2-button special attack like the others, just an almost useless rolling kick. You showed great skill on this one. Congrats.
Thanks! I actually tried hard to one-coin this game, but it seems the game keeps increasing the difficulty by sending more and more soldiers the longer you spend on one credit, making it almost impossible to finish on just one credit. You can actually observe and compare the number of enemies attacking you before and after I die for the first time around 12:30. As I don’t do any tool assisted videos, I gave up and made it a multi credit video.
Oh and by the way, the rolling kick of Raphael can be quite useful if you can master it. The reason why it was used so infrequently in this video was because I was playing on a regular (not gaming) keyboard and because of keyboard ghosting, it was very difficult to execute that move while moving the character.
You're welcome, pal. Actually, the difficult level is adjustable dynamically, so if you make progress without losing a life, the game gets more and more difficult until you die. The instant you die, however, the difficult drops and the game becomes a lot easier. This was the best way to 1cc back in the time, most people die (unintentionally) in the skate stage, so the game becomes much easier. I'm not fond of TAS videos. I'd rather have someone playing and making mistakes, just like it was back in the arcade heyday.
I remember playing this in the Blackpool back in the early 90s. I could only get as far as the third Boss Baxter Stockman and no matter how hard I tried I'd always get killed until I had no credits left and I always chose Raphael as my turtle

90's Arcade Games, I have a VHS recording of the SNES Turtles In Time that I'd like to share on RU-vid, but I do NOT know how to convert that into a RU-vid vid. It shows gameplay of Raphael making it up to only the Slash boss-stage. Any way how I could upload that to RU-vid?
If you are talking about digitizing your VHS recording, as far as I know, you need to somehow connect your VHR player to computer. You will probably some hardware that you don’t already have, google "video capture device" or more generally, google "connecting a vhs to computer". If that’s the only video you want to digitize, you probably won’t want to buy anything; in which case you should research companies that will take your VHS and give you the digitized video, like photo developers before the common use of digital cameras. One other alternative is shooting a video of your tv while playing that VHS if you don’t mind the poor quality : )
I saw this game at LOL Stations the next sequel I was born in 1991 when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time arcade came out after this one from 1989 I love this game I had the Ralph, The Space Cadet Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy back then my older brother Vincent was born in 1989 he had Raphael on his birthday cake and he the pajamas it was cool the good old days I miss those days back when we had good life I have a picture of it all of my older brother Vincent holding Raphael on his birthday cake I got picture of us wearing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pajamas also myself Deonte Lamar Merritt holding Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Raphael The Space Cadet toy from Playmates on my birthday I love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles old old vintage years and I will be 26 years old this year almost be 30 years old in 2021 love it.
+Andrew King So many players don't adjust to their games, they have it in their heads of staying with one thing: You think in today's Internet-based society more people can play this game, amazingly it's like the same 10 people who can beat Bebop and Rocksteady together, everyone else just gets flat KO'ed. Sad but true.
+Andrew King Man I remember when I discovered this tactic . I was around 15 I went to see a movie and I decided lemme get a game or 2 in before the movie. I ended missing the movie and beating the game for the 1st time that day hahahahahah by the time I was done around 5-6 people that were working there were watching me play it apparently none of them had seen the game get beaten.
I've seen many players doing it back in the day. Most of the them pick up Donatello due to his long range attack. The game is hard but there are tons of techniques and glitch abuses that allow the player to go through the entire game with just one quarter. Here's a 1cc playthrough: v=1f83XiXFIcA
Does the rapid blinking during boss fights symbolize massive trauma and extensive blood loss from being stabbed multiple times? Or is he Rocksteady just really really mad?!
i found playing as raph really awkward because you had to stand side on at the machine. used to prefer donatello to stand straight. same with marge and lisa on simpsons arcade
+Dave PBG Yeah, the design of most arcade games were asinine. That is why Raph and Leo were hardly ever used, even though Leo was the best one to use. Even the button scheme was mixed up on TMNT with jump being on the left. The control panel was the ONLY thing I had negative to say about this epic game.
La dificultad de este video es "modo retrasado" lo recuerdo mucho más difícil y más rápidos los simples ninjas y los jefes tardaba uno mucho en ponerlos rojos.
