Magical mystery tour is much less coherent but very much still a product of its time so has some charm to it. Be prepared it's not made by the same director as the first two and I think the Beatles directed it themselves.

Looking forward to the Yellow Submarine reaction, that's definitely the best Beatles movie

Have you ever watched James Bond movies? This and the theme music are spoofing that.

I’m a late millennial but I’ve had lots of gen z friends and I think the MOST gen z joke in the whole movie is right at the end when they dedicated the whole film to the guy that invented the sewing machine.

This movie is where George Harrison discovered the sitar. They were also high for most of the filming. When you watch, Magical Mystery Tour don't think of it as a coherent story. Think of it as a combination of skits and music videos (which are the best part of the movie). The only thing holding the film together is that they're on a bus travelling to these different places where the skits happen. As crappy as the movie is, the Beatles are so cool and that's really all that matters; you get to see the Beatles!

Great reaction! I think you might like the Anthology if you’re interested in their story. Or least react to free as a bird and real love 😊

sitar is around the same time as Rubber Soul when sitar is used .

James Bond was a new and "big" thing, and many movies were influenced by that.

It cracked me up when you kept remarking on the film quality....though it was back in the 60's, movies weren't exactly in the Dark Ages! LOL! (Maybe you were comparing it to the black & white filming of their 1st movie, but most b & w films were actually high quality as well.)

I was comparing to NBA Clips I watch from the 80s and 90s where I can barely read the numbers or see the ball

@@LyricReactsYT TV was really the only home screen at the time, and it was pretty low quality. Anything made for that media did not need to look very good. Luckily, many of the top TV shows were shot on film. Even film, though, needs to be maintained, stored in perfect temperature. Even the best kept film has to be restored, cleaned up, to look good. But when restored, most film can be 4k resolution. But it takes money to store and restore film. Many films degrade past the point of return. Video tape storage had gotten to be pretty good resolution by the '70s. Be it doesn't age well and was nowhere near 4k. You'd be surprised how much was shot on video tape in the '70s.

The Beatles didn’t take this movie as seriously as the first one. They were heavily smoking weed at the time, and its influence is seen throughout the film. lol. The intermission is a perfect example.

When you get older and more mature, you will see the brilliance of A HARD DAYS NIGHT. Gen Z??? You need to familiarize yourself with Monty Python and Laugh In.

Suggest you read about the movies before watching them so you have a clue or two, then your "reaction" will actually have relevance to the movie. The film is 'Help!" not "Toy Story" whatever.
