A group of teenagers enroll in a prestigious high school, which turns out to be a devious trap designed to tempt the pupils to murder one another in order to graduate. Anime Name: Danganronpa: The Animation
Because ignorant people constantly come around to get offended at "misgendering", Chihiro is NOT transgender. He was a crossdresser due to his own insecurities about his masculinity. Before he died, he wanted to become stronger and embrace his gender.
The way you describe the Executions so calmly is hilarious. The way The bear kills people is some of the most ridiculous ideas i have ever seen. Whoever came up with it must have had one hell of a fever dream.
@@gagearbour773 yeah like tied to a pole, shot at with egg missiles, then a giant flour one, before dragging the victim through the sky via helicopter to an active volcano and dropping him in to deep fry.
Don’t forget the future and despair animations together with killer killer d0 which takes place in despair arc and kirigiri the before the entire thing There is no anime adaptation for danganronpa V3 and there is no game version of danganronpa 3 end of hopes peak so future arc and despair arc itself is the third part of danganronpa and I am afraid I will spoil about V3 even by just telling when and where does it take place Spoilers In end of hopes peak future arc there is another killing game the last killing game where there is no execution and they just get bloody stabbed Oh bloody hell *Ba dum tis* End of hopes peak Future arc is actually the fourth killing game and a sequel to danganronpa 2 goodbye despair danganronpa despair girls is a game that took place after happy havoc and before d2 goodbye despair so all the characters in existence (except manga and novel characters that doesn’t have any connections to the story including everyone in DV3) except the real minor ones in despair girls appear in end of hopes peak despair and future End of hopes peak Despair arc is the prequel before all this happened and the most important part in the series RIP gamer girl Idk much about the novels but the story is really complicated so just so you know Trigger happy havoc the animation is just the start Together with all four main games with every novel and anime the story literally starts from kyoko being born Also I think the person who made this just got a bad day and realized they are good in psychology and like mysteries Just so you know the blood wasn’t supposed to be pink in the original version and this just add the color into it *Ba dum tis* Still though I think their mind is just as creative as Sega atlus and marvel Btw there is also the nagito illusionary world anime which is after goodbye despair so it means the despair girls is 1.5 and super danganronpa 2.5 is... well 2.5 Just realized your name is bluntly honest
I want to point out for anyone wondering both from the game and/or the anime why they made the first culprit so obvious, the image of Sayaka's death wasn't changed during the translation from Japanese to English. The point was that it was supposed to be spelled in English AND upside down, so it being a name wouldn't be the first thought of most Japanese players. It would be pretty hard to change it for Western audiences to give it the same level of difficulty though, so they just left it how it was, making the first trial in the series infamously easy.
It’s also worth noting that the cast generally refer to each other by their surnames in the Japanese version as well. So for the person in question, they would usually be calling him Kuwata, rather than Leon.
I love how Danganronpa portrays strength in Chapter 2, it's not just your body frame, a muscular body, breaking the rules and violence that makes you a "man" like Mondo. Rather, it's trying to overcome your greatest fears to protect everyone including yourself and move forward with determination, no matter what your body looks like. Just like how Chihiro did. Aside from Kirigiri, Chihiro was one of the most useful characters in here because of the Alter Ego he created which not only saved a life but provided info as well. If Chihiro lived longer, there would be more tactics under his sleeve. The fact that in Danganronpa IF, Kyoko personally trusted Chihiro alone to come with her to meet Mukuro, a possible enemy that might kill them. She could've asked other people to come with them since Chihiro has a small body frame compared to other students but she believed in Chihiro's mental strength and loyalty that Chihiro promised that he will quickly warn the others if something happened to Kyoko rather than being the next victim.
@@ultimxtemiracxler No, I have played the game, and watched the anime. I made this comment as a joke. I'd think you know what a joke was before you got on the internet, but I guess I overestimated the power your brain has to think.
@@CombustableLemon Oh that was a joke?Maybe tell a proper joke next time before you insult other people's intelligence despite checking on your sense of humor.

2:18 Sayaka's fellow members of the idol group weren't directly stated to be killed, their statuses are unknown At least one member is confirmed to be alive in the side game Ultra Despair Girls
I have a hc that the girl with the pink eyes and oversized ribbon is actually Ibuki from the second game (both due to backstory and how fun the implications would be)
@@byakuyatogami2905 Yea but danganronpa S states that Ibuki and sayaka didnt know each other before. Although Danganronpa S story is non canon (I think), I dont think that the past of these characters stated there are non canon as well
Fr. Some girl tried to explain this to me, as someone whose never heard of this before... it was very confusing, as well as there being a lot of characters!!
One thing I never understood was why they changed Kiyotaka’s title to ultimate hall monitor and didn’t keep it as ultimate moral compass in the English dub of the anime? Because even in the English version of the game his title was the ultimate moral compass? Was it a localization thing?
"The ultimate hall monitor" was what Taka was called in the fan translation of the first game. This is likely a reference to that translation, as it popularized Danganronpa in the states enough for an official translation to be made.
For anyone here who is just seeing this for the first time, lemme tell you this series goes Hella deep, there is whole lot of content to see after the anime/og game, so if you end up liking the premise or the show itself then consider continuing onto the rest of the series.
This class is definitely more Terrifying than the class in danganronpa 2 if they are in despair mode mondo has charismatic in bikers Togami has large corpo around the world Genocide sho (you know what im gonna say) Chihiro programming and hacking into the internet government etc.. spreading despair Makoto unkillable Sakura can break your body in a sec Mukuro knows and can operate every military weapon Junko dont have to say it Yasuhiro telling your Vedy bad fortunes Aoi drowning you like a shark Kyoko would likely be spreading the horrific dead bodies in some program Celeste making every person in debt through gambling Hifumi dunno like that one doujinshi metamorphosis Leon batting and pitching people Sayaka doing a despair concerts etc Ishimaru political despair
1 - Steins;gate and then danganronpa? Wow! I never thought this channel would go so deep. Very nice. What are the odds the guy does Madoka, Haruhi Suzumiya, Btooom, No Game No Life or Higurashi/Umineko? 2 - Misplaced modifier? I think it should be kill without being found guilty to graduate 3 - Wait 13 episodes but it's 20min recap? Interesting. I thought 12eps = 10min like how steins;gate was 20min. Niiiice. 4 - edit 4 months later: Madoka was done but it was removed. NGNL was done.
@@salutauo2035 for an outsider, it might look like it, but danganronpa used pink blood to fit the psychopop genre. It only used red blood once in the game/anime to distinguish old blood from new blood (and in the Future Arc) but otherwise it's pink.
I thought most of Danganronpa was predictable, but still a fun game. If anyone is wondering, I often see the second game cited as the best one in the series so you should watch/play that one after finishing this video or the original!
I absolutely loved the first trial in the first game. Yes its a massive tutorial, but Kyoko is trying to get Makoto to figure it out forva reason. So the deliberate attempts to lead him actually have a plot reason.
Imo, the only things the second game outshines the first is the trials and the ***likeability*** (and i out emphasis, likeability) of the characters, in the rest it is a incredible letdown.
THH feels like a test of the idea, its not bad, but you can tell they are trying to get their footing with the style, GD (2) is them pushing the limits on what they can do (which worked out for the characters, best selection of the series, but hurt the gameplay, easily being the most boring and frustrating [cough hangman’s gambit cough]) and KH (V3) is when they had it figured out and knew what they were doing, easily best game (though the best case in the series is chapter 5 in GD)
I usually watch anime recap videos blind. As in, haven't watched the anime in question in these types of videos. But for Danganronpa: the anime I have. It hits different when you watch someone analyze their take on a series you've watched before rather than haven't watched at all. I do think the game has better murder CG's than the animated edition of Danganronpa. Mainly from the fact the anime makes the murder scenes look more.. lighthearted if that's how you'd put it. From a person who has seen the game and anime, the anime dives in more with how the characters interact with other in a shorter time span. However the game masters the visual aspects of how the game works. (Trials, murders, executions.) At least in the anime there isn't 3 hours of dialog per episode. Haha.
also there's 2 more versions of this killing game AniRecaps, if you do decide to do the other 2 versions make sure to do them in order because it will makes sense if there in order trust me.
Not really other "versions", more like they're a continuation of the first game. All the storylines tie in together There's also a 4th game called "Ultra Dispair Girls" that's a spin-off of the main series, but I'm not sure if there's an anime adaption for it
@@eddleegarcia4986 when i meant versions i meant like different versions of the killing game i know its a continuation of the first game i played the game before.
@@WhiteRose2 I see, yeah the games are always better cause they have more content. The danganronpa 3 animes have no games but I think they are amazing.
Just because of this recap I got pulled into the world of Danganronpa.. Just finished the entire anime (maybe the game or light novel next) and holy cow this stuff gets me engaged like no other anime. Was the first anime to make me cry too hahaha (nanami why)
@@alfredothecheeselover8837 Uhm im sure the anime is based on the game because it show some similarities like punishment and stuff the only difference between both instead of YOU playing as the MC the MC playing as themself and Have more Movement and Some Indepth scenes you won't usually see in Game. (Except Hopes Peak Academy that is based on Danganronpa 2 The one with chiaki Spoiler alert (Why did i put spoiler alert? because its still somewhat spoiler) Chiaki Death is Different from the Game itself and as well as the others atleast in what i remember in few Clips of the Anime itself.)
wait... the danganronpa i watched was where a boy turned into a really op character where they had a normal school and he alone with that girl killed all the other students... then a 2nd season or something where they were trapped in a building but escaped on a boat, they were called the remnants of despair or something? i dont understand danganronpa at all, can someone explain how the hell this is all put together?
Ah you might’ve watched one of the sequels, from your description I’m guessing danganronpa 2: goodbye despair/danganronpa 3:the end of hopes peak high school! Goodbye despair was the game, while end of hopes peak was the anime that took place before games! End of hopes peak high followed 2 stories, the life of the characters from the second game, and we watched the world endings via Junko, while the second story takes place after the first season of the anime/first game (the one this recap was on) ik there are some lightnovels and stuff but unfortunately I haven’t read them, but I do know that there are 2 more games after 1 and 2, the next one is a spin off game where we followed Makotos sister and Toko Fukawa after the events of this story in a town overrun with Monokuma, and the last is V3, which follows the same idea as 1 and 2, but it’s supposed to be an alternate universe type thing
@@Bram. all you need to know is that there is 2 canonical games (which this anime is based off the first game being Hope, while the second one was the one where they escaped the island, which ill call Island) and 3 seasons of the anime (before this video being Despair, this video being Hope, and after the video being Future). It goes in this order, Despair > Hope > Island > Future. Also the lore is just extremely confusing as well if you go into the rabbit hole. If you want to see the full lore, just search up full lore for Danganrompa
The anime is actually a quite faithful adaptation of all the main plot elements that happened in the story. Sure, if you want to know specific details of each case play the games. But in my opinion the anime makes a much better job with the pace of the story and with the twists since the first game can get pretty redundant with the dialogues and sometimes gives way too many hints about the culprit compared to the anime where this isn't a problem and the confrontation with the culprit is more intense and better paced.
I watched the anime first since I thought it was an anime rather than a game 💀 I’d say I don’t think you’d miss too much, they did add in most of the main things to the anime, it’s fine if you don’t have time to watch/play 1-5 hours of class trials then the anime is fine since I believe it’s just like 20 minutes like any normal episode of an anime or you can just watch or play the game after/before the anime lol - kind of what the person above partly said
The game may be better, but I do think the English dub had better references and acting. Neither version got particularly awesome until the trial in Chapter 2. For one, it had a really emotional conclusion, and of course it introduced me to my favorite student. I don't always like the idea of Disassociative Identity Disorder being an excuse to make someone into a murderer, but I really enjoy Genocider Syo despite that. Comedic villains are some of the most entertaining characters to watch. But yeah, I recommend at least starting with the game because the anime does contain massive if not simplified spoilers for the trials.
@@puppetdoll5421 we'll you see this is a video game called Danganronpa trigger happy havoc and you play as makoto and you search for clues in order to find the culprit while in class trials you have to use truth bullets at the right time someone gets something wrong then you can move on to the next examination and if you use the wrong clue then you will mess up leading to lesser chances of success. If you wanna know more check the video game out cuz I don't feel like explaining that.
THH leon mondo hifumi who died and the main blacken being Celestia whos name is actually yasuhiro Sakura poisoning herself and the last one is Junko killing her sister the 16 student is hiding somewhere lol
