Can you please please make a video about a lower lingual arch because I just got mine and I don’t know what it’s for and why I have it and it is very uncomfortable.?
@@DrGregAsatrian omggg thank you so much you have me so much motivation through my braces journey i'm getting an expander soon so do you have any tips for that please? btw i subscribed and turned on the notifications🔔
Is it necessary to have extractions to fix an overbite? tho my overbite is not severe at all. Will it change the shape of my face? and is it true that if I'll have extractions your face will get sunk? What will be the consequences if ever I'll have extractions. I hope you'll answer my question or better yet I hope you'll make a video about this. Thank you
Lorraine Teleron I got twin blocks for overbite with out extractions however they are hard to talk in and I don’t like them. If you are prepared for that then I would recommend them👍🏻
I had my two first premolars extracted about 5 months ago because of an overbite. Now I have seen a huge difference, my canines have now replaced the premolars I talked about earlier, and we are going to start pushing back my overbite in the next appointment
It all depends on the case so it is impossible for me to tell online but I would suggest you bring this up with your orthodontist as he/she is the most familiar with your case! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 18.0px; font: 13.0px Roboto; color: #262626; -webkit-text-stroke: #262626; background-color: #ffffff} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}
Dr.Greg! Are you stalking me!? I needed a video on whitening my teeth after braces! Thank you so much Dr.Yazdan and Dr.Greg for all the information! 😁😁
My dentist recommended the opalescence whitening trays in my last stages of braces. She said this formula is chosen especially for braces. Many good results from different users. Also this doctor in this video said “ you build up a lot of plaque while you’re in braces” not I said the hen. My teeth are clean as they’ve ever been due to the stellar cleanliness I desire during braces. that’s always the misconception…That people with braces have yucky plaquey teeth. Not all. Still some great advice. Thanks Dr Greg. ♥️
I had my teeth whitened after braces and I got the Zoom procedure and it was the worst. I could not make it to the 4th round due to extreme sensitivity and constant electric zapping on my teeth. It was the worst, the pain and zapping lasted for a few days ugh. The next time I get my second round of braces off I will use whitening toothpaste and mouthwash rinse never again in office professional whitening.
Dr. Greg , I have a doubt that's bothering me. When my overbite is being corrected with braces and elastics, is it necessary for me to keep my molars together ? My natural oral posture is keeping my tongue pressed against the roof of the mouth, and letting the jaw be comfortably apart. Forcing them together for a long time feels uncomfortable. I have this doubt because of the whole orthotropics thing. My lips are still sealed as they're not too far apart.
I have a question.. I chose purple bands last month..for the first few days they were really pretty. All of a sudden..they turned an icky greyish purple and im not sure why. I use colgate visible white toothpaste. Does my toothpaste have anything to do with the color change of my bands? I never even knew that the colors change.. I have an icky grey smile now.. Plz help 😟
Toothpaste shouldnt change the color of the bands! Bands change overtime but be careful not to eat foods that stain because the bands will pick up the stain and make your teeth look a different color
I wonder how it’s simultaneously safe and causing sensitivity? Where does sensitivity go after? I have very sensitive teeth and just don’t eat very sweet/sour/hot/cold things in general. Fluorite toothpaste kind of helps keep it bearable but not close to perfect or comfortable. So what are the was to keep that away/what’s this “recovery” that’s happening within 2 days of bleaching?
Oh no!!!! I just used a Charcoal Toothpaste awhile ago and I noticed how sensitive my teeth to cold drinks and my teeth has turned yellow-er than before. I had to stop using it and got back to an ordinary Colgate one. 😪
I currently have braces I’m using a whitening tooth paste once a day for my morning routine water flosser and traditional flossing along with fluoride mouth wash. Night routine: water flosser, fluoride toothpaste, traditional floss, fluoride mouthwash.
Good evening Dr. How can I intrude molar teeth with out surgical interference even by using surgical screw..because the patient is afraid of that. thank you so much
I can explain this more in another video but phase 1 is when are not ready for full braces yet but we can do some minor alignment / growth modification!
Hi, I got twin block appliances a couple days ago, and I hate them. I do sport for over 12 hours a week, and I can’t sleep with them in. I have a 7mm overbite and I don’t understand how people can wear them. Are there any alternatives and can I skip this stage of treatment? My teeth are wonky as well and I’d love for them to be straight. I don’t care about my overbite and if at the end of the treatment I still have an overbite I don’t care. Any tips? Thanks for reading and I’d love for you to help me.
I've had my braces for a month now and have been using charcoal toothpaste. I'm definitely going to switch back to regular toothpaste. I've noticed my teeth don't seem as clean, I thought it was the braces but now I know it's the toothpaste.
Hi Dr Greg, I'm really hoping you can reply to this. So I'm 13 years old and I'm due for braces in March. I recently went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned and they said I had impacted molars in my palate and I might have to get surgery. My question is have you ever dealt with a patient with impacted teeth and also I'm sooooo scared. I used to be like "I can't wait till I get my braces" now I hope that day never comes. Please reply
Impacted teeth are not too uncommon so don't be afraid! Orthodontist are well versed in taking care of these cases. I'ms ure you'll do awesome! Make sure you keep us posted on here & on instagram about your progress!!
@Great White oh yes, I got my braces at the end of March past year. Now I'm 15 and I still have braces. I got my impacted teeth removed and it wasn't scary at all or painful. So yeah, I have had braces for about a year and a half now
Thanks for your videos as they’re really helpful!I have braces I’ll wait until I get them off for a whitening...how often do you recommend for a regular cleaning while wearing braces?
It really depends on the severity of the chip! I would suggest you bring this up with your orthodontist as he/she is the most familiar with your case! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 18.0px; font: 13.0px Roboto; color: #262626; -webkit-text-stroke: #262626; background-color: #ffffff} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}
Question I use arm and hammer peroxicare toothpaste on my braces is that fine and I use crest toothpaste when I brush my tongue, is this ok as well? I had my braces since March 2021 and I just start doing this on my own no fb or tik tok hacks.
Yeees so i can whitening toothpaste with braces, I have used whitening toothpaste for like 6 months now and I really hope I don’t have yellow squares on my teeth when I get them off ;)
Hi Doctor Greg, I have a question. I went in for my appointment today and the orthodontist chose to re-use the wires I've been wearing for the past month. I thought this was rather odd. Is this normal practice? I did insist on having the top wire replaced because I had a cream coloured wire to match my ceramic brackets but didn't like the look of it and prefer the silver. My concern is, does this affect the treatment process because I paid a lot of money for my braces and I'd hate to get bad service.
It is not uncommon to reuse wires. Sometimes we need more work out of a certain wire and in the final stages, we most definitely keep the same wire for finishing and detailing bends (you can see my video on that!)
@@DrGregAsatrian Thanks so much for explaining. I'm only one month into treatment so I was a bit concerned. Thank you for clearing that up. You're the best! :)
Nice job, there are so many little things that impact the overall quality of a video interview - I thought this was thoughtfully edited and included a lot of valuable information while showcasing your guest’s personality as well.
Hey I want to ask a question my orthodontics tell me I have one impacted canine.they recommend surgical exposure ,my question is it necessary to expose it.i am very anxious about it because I watch surgical procedure in RU-vid.pls tell is it necessary to expose it or we just leave it alone .also tell is there any other option.i do not want this surgery is there any option to omit the procedure.feeling pain already .pls reply fast
Impossible for me to tell! I would recommend you bring this up to your orthodontist as he/she is more familiar with your case / treatment! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'}
I've had braces for almost 3 years now, i was meant to get them off a while ago but the spaces between my upper teeth aren't closing since my teeth are quite small - is it possible that my orthodontist won't be able to close them and I'll have gaps there after treatment or how would they close them?
I wonder, dr.Greg's teeth and dr.Jazdan's teeth, is that teeth whitening or implants? Because I saw a result with Phillips Zoom, an I can not see a big difference there, 2shades maximum. Thats what I can get using charcoal paste, but Phillips Zoom is way more expensive.
Hi, im aena and i have braces for over 5yrs already. Before i was overbite not knowing that im also cross bite. Now the dentist told me i may have TMJ and they’re really having difficulty fixing my teeth. Can u give me a good advice?
Oh no! Unfortunately it is impossible for me to tell online but I would suggest keep working with your orthodontist & dental team. I'm sure theyre trying their hardest to make sure you have a great result! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 18.0px; font: 13.0px Roboto; color: #262626; -webkit-text-stroke: #262626; background-color: #ffffff} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}
Hello Dr. Greg, after getting braces off I have one of the anterior upper teeth has more protrusion than the other, how can I fix it?? (See the photo: dl.dropbox.com/s/m092ic62hboe4sd/ORTHO.jpg?dl=0) or it is normal? Note: I wear my retainer as the plan said, but I think this is also before getting the braces off.
I honestly can't give any advice online. I would recommend you bring this up to your orthodontist as he/she is more familiar with your case / treatment! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'}
Why am I not allowed to chew gum or eat popcorn with braces? I did that last month and at my last appointment my dentist told me that I broke something and I would have to wear the braces for two extra months. And also,what are all the stuff I am not allowed to eat with braces??
if i have an overbite, does that mean when go in to get my braces i’ll need to only get my top braces first? how does that work? what’s the situation when people only get their top braces first?
I got my teeth whitened before I got braces. Should I whiten my teeth during ortho treatment to maintain the whiteness and not have any uneven colored teeth when I get my braces off?
What helps to make the pressure of your braces feel better/ go away after you first getting them on because mine hurt really really bad and I can’t sleep
I want to get my teeth whitened but I have weak enamel (that covers your teeth) and I’m more sensitive to cold and hot food and I got told by one dentist that I shouldn’t get then whitened but another dentist told me I could get them whitened... help!
