Railfan Railroad Writes: Tons of clean home road cars and Per Deim boxcars, Coop hoppers, lumber flats and special loads! Of course, every train has a caboose or two! The best trains are shown in their entirety, making this a "Candy Store for Modeler and railfans".
This is one of two chapters of the Tehachapi line shot on Kodak color movie film by Tom Butterworth. This DVD is available on our website www.cspmovies.com. It features many other topics that bring the SP, Sana Fe and WP lines with beautiful scenery.
This presentation brings it back with beautiful scenery, old smoking diesel power and colorful, graffiti-free freight cars in the 1970's and 80's! We make the case for watching freight car traffic-patterns and loads to better understand how railroads worked before all the mergers of the 1990's. Watching these trains makes us realize all of the things we took for granted, and we appreciate these freight car views much more -- and it makes us want to see, and in the case of modelers, run the trains of yesteryear! These valuable historical views help us to create trains with our memories into a credible mix of cars from favorite home roads and the "Pooled" and "exotic" cars from other railroads!
