This is 8+ years old, now Tejas is the best single engine fighter in IAF arsenal. There were many attempts by the import lobby to kill this aircraft but Tejas survived and is now thriving as the Tejas MK1A version.
I think it is a strategy to never explore your true heroes , as they know original data and they shud be hide for their security and India's assets. The scientist and developer can be abducted by various agencies. :)
Why would you even compare? Movies means Entertainment and Acting! Heroes here signifies the role they played in a movie! If you're taking Heroes of movie too seriously then God bless you.
It cannot be from 0 to 1..transition will take place gradually.. Better thing happening is government is willing to push indigenization.. Which is important for that day to come in future.. That will to do is always present in our engineers & scientists, but previous government has no will to push it..

Proud of Tejas being indigenously developed of India. India joined the top league countries (top 5) from space exploration to cars. Advice to Pakistan. Focus on development not on terrorism. There should b a competition..n..a lucrative award with recognition amongs all IIT institutes in india to make the most advanced fighter jet engine, exclusively made in india tag .
Precisely what we need currently. We need another competing agency so that projects are not delayed and everyone will feel the heat. Look at US, Boeing and LM are at each other's throat.
The air inlet of Tejas is much small compared to all fighters. The lower surface of wing and upper surface of air inlet is having a gap. If these two surfaces are merged, the air inlet will become larger,gap is eliminated. This will improve performance of engine, and aerodynamics of the airframe. The frontal surface area around intake will be reduced thus Stealth coating cost,& weigh is reduced. Stealth(frontal) will improve

Just go and see inside HAL how employees are working ....its of no use ..its like maintaining a white elephant..they took more than 20 years to built a fighter...look at the way the guy explanied about windtunnel..as if like the people are stupids..iaf is very reluctant to procure these aitcraft like the army did it for arjun tanks..
@@Indtami That's where I would disagree... HAL produces a ton of stuff... The problem is or rather was, the lack of government commitment and basically bureaucrats handling defence spending and procurements and funding and advising politicians with no oversight or sharing of details with the Indian military.. In short, it was the blind leading the deaf.... For the first time, there has been an addition of armed forces personnel liasoning with HAL and DRDO and a flurry of activity. The 2nd thing was till 2014, 100% of R and D funding went to the DRDO and HAL. Now, HAL and DRDO have to compete with the private industry for funds, which makes it infinitely better.

Very grateful and proud of the thousands of unknown people who have worked in developing key technologies, parts for this aircraft. Researchers, scientists, engineers, defence officials and leaders who supported & encouraged all of these great men and women. These people make a nation, they make it strong and self reliant. The nation and it's people will be indebted for the service and dedication of these great people. India will now head towards it's glorious future in defence and aviation. Thanks a lot.

HAL, has made what IAF wanted, fighter, bomber, missile launcher, ground attack aircraft, IAF should not complain but help HAL to improve and build other platforms based on this. For this two things have to happen, a government that will encourage, development of indigenous engine.

Since theyre mastering skills to develop one with big percentage of carbon composites on surface area. Why dont try to make one more component or materials to mix with carbon composites...... pyroclastic materials. This will make the aircraft unable to be seen by radars without applying mega expensive RAM-radar absorbing materials.
