I love that! I remember in the "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" Hulk was written in a somewhat similar way. Speaking very little, but it's revealed in a hilarious episode that he makes these delicate little glasswork pieces to keep calm.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Assuming my sources were fairly accurate, Capoeira developed in a Spanish colony. I'm sure someone could identify which one. So it was a tool of rebellion. You could practice it openly, looking like you were just dancing. They'd even have someone playing music and referred to sparring as play. But secretly, it was teaching fighting skills. A big part of the practice is to never strike your partner. You only ever come close enough to show that a hit COULD have landed. (edit: Just translated XD @Florido. Brazilian martial art. I loved these characters too. My cousins and I used to race to pick them every time.)

Fun fact: Tekken shows its inspirations pretty openly. You guessed Raven (Wesley Snipes), but special shout outs to Fei Wulong (Jackie Chan style kung-fu cop) and Feng Wei (literally Retsu from Baki). Also, King and Armor King are rival pro wrestlers. They speak in growls because the game respects their kayfabe.
Yep I love when Fighting games do that. It's also Cool that Kazuya's Gloves are inspired by STAR platinums Gloves from Jojo. But my personal Favorite is how King I Based off a Cartoon character Tiger mask, and a Real life wrestler of the same name who ran an orphanage.

The thing i love about tekken is that everyone understand everyone despite them speaking different languages, like u got characters who speak english, japanese, korean, chinese, french, portugese etc all in one game and they all understand each other at first it might look kinda weird but that's just one of the things that separates tekken from other fighting games, and it's kinda charming in a way

Despite not being necessarily evil, Dragunov is very stoic and unreadable. He shows little interest in socializing with others and only focuses on the mission at hand. He shows no mercy towards his enemies or opponents and if provoked enough, will kill them if they are jeopardizing the mission. Because of these qualities, even his allies tend to be intimidated by his presence.
Fun Fact: Nina and Anna are both 50. Nina was experimented on with cryonic technology and frozen for 21 years. Anna, furious that she wouldn't be able to kick her sister's ass once and for all demanded to be put in cryonic suspensions as well. Lore wise, Ken's team is all the superstars minus Hehachi and Devil Jin, Mechanic-wise, Bethany's team is LITERALLY pure win aside from Bob, containing every character used to win tourneys at the time. other Fun Fact: Yoshimitsu is a cyborg and has a completely different body every game.
Fun Fact: when Tekken 5 was in development. Harada planned to have female Tekken Force character involved in story but he started to get worried because of her design that will truly make Tekken 5 a M rated game which he decided to have that character scrapped.
what i like about tekken 6 and 7 is the fact that some, if not most, of the fighters who don't speak english, actually speak their mothertounge. :) also, some fun facts: Lars Alexandersson is a swedish man, who speaks japanese, and is Heihachi's half-son, it makes sense in context. also, Jin, Kazuya & Heihachi are related in the way that they're grandfather, father and son. :) Lee Chaolang, the guy with white hair who spoke japanese, is said to be a half-brother to Kazuya, or Jin (forgot who). also, Panda is a girl, and she's friends with Xiaoyu. Kuma is japanese for bear. :) Asuka is Jin's cousin. :)

Hwoarang has been in the Tekken franchise for a long time but nobody could spell/say his name so they'd always just call him "Bob" as a placeholder, but I guess Namco didn't like people doing that because a few games later they added the Bob character you saw here.
Jin is son to Kazuya, Kazuya is son to Heihachi. Lee is adopted son to Heihachi since Kazuya hated him. Bruce is a bodyguard for Lee Kuma is pet to Heihachi, and rival to Paul, and in love in Panda Panda is pet to Xiaoyu. Wang is grandfather to Xiaoyu. Anna and Nina is sisters. Steve Fox suppose to be bio son of Nina Baek is teacher to Hwoarang King and Armor King is rivals Ganryu is in love with Julia, but never going to happen Eddy and Christie are in same family.. Alisa B is a robot. Raven is the one who discovered dead of Heihachi in Tekken 5. Bryan is a robot. Jack is a robot made by lady human. Roger Jr suppose not to be there, the little kid runs away in Tekken 5 Zafina, Miguel and Leo are new characters in Tekken 6.
Dragunov is cold, calculating, and totally impassive when fighting opponents. Aside from a few lines of dialogue, Dragunov is an elective mute, barely uttering a single word throughout the entire series. This tends to either annoy, confuse or unsettle other characters. He serves his motherland with utmost diligence and loyally follows orders when given. He also enjoys singing as a hobby as seen in one of his win animations where he was humming after defeating his opponent.
Some quick lore about fan-favorite characters: King and Armor King are Mexican luchadors who dress as jaguars. King is the face (hero) and Armor King plays the heel (villain) though this is only his character. The people behind Armor King are decent individuals who are darker than the Kings but still good overall. There have been 2 Kings and 2 Armor Kings since both characters died during the series' long history before someone else took the mantle. Marduk plays a key role in their storylines since he is a good friend of King 2 and the killer of Armor King 1, making him Armor King 2's rival. Steve Fox was born out of the Mishima Zaibatsu's experiments to create a super-soldier similar to the Devil Gene. Kazuya ran the Zaibatsu during Tekken 2 and needed stronger troops, so he cryogenically froze Nina Williams and took her eggs without her consent to create these troops. The only success was Steve Fox, who did not know about his past until he received help from police officer Lei Wulong. Most of Steve's character is based on how he copes with the fact that he is the result of a genetic experiment and that his mother does not want him (for understandable reasons). He is best friends with Marshall Law and Paul Phonix, both have been in the Tekken series since the first game but never won a tournament. Paul was an interesting macho character but became a joke over time and now works alongside Law to split the prize money of every tournament. Steve works alongside them but only values their friendship, not the prize. Eddy and Christie are capoeira practitioners, a Brazillian martial art created by slaves to imitate dancing. They are in a romantic relationship and are motivated by the death of their master, who is Christie's grandfather. Jin Kazama is Kazuya's son and Heihachi's grandson, which is why there are two Jin characters. Devil Jin is the one Bethany drafted and Jin is the one she rejected, which I found pretty funny since he said the same lines both times. Unlike Kazuya's Devil, Jin's Devil is an evil form that possesses him and overwhelms his moral compass with a separate personality in exchange for power. Kazuya's Devil worked the same way until Kazuya literally surpassed his Devil in both strength and evil, allowing him to use full control of its power without losing control of his personality. Kazuya wants to kill Heihachi to get revenge for his mother's death and then take as much power as possible to never feel pain again, while Jin wants to be free of the Devil gene. The problem is that he is willing to do anything to get away from it, which causes World War 3 and the main plot of Tekken 6. Asuka is a part of the same clan as Jin on his mother's side but isn't blood-related to him, but they still maintain somewhat of a connection. Jin's mother, Jun Kazama, raised him and taught him their family martial art, which allows her to watch over her son like a guardian angel and beat back the Devil. Some people think this is why Kazuya was able to fall in love with her despite being possessed by Devil since her natural abilities brought a better part of him. Because of this, Jin switches between Kazama-style and Mishima-style, but his Devil form exclusively uses Mishima. Asuka has a rivalry with Lili but it's one of the series' low-points. The Mishima family makes up a good chunk of the cast. You have Jinpachi the originator, Heihachi the patriarch, Kazuya his first son, Jin the next generation, and then you have the odd additions. Lee Chaolan is Heihachi's adopted son from China who he trained alongside Kazuya for the sole purpose of giving him a rival. As such, Lee doesn't see himself as part of the family nor does he have any attachments to Heihachi, but he considers both of them his rivals. Lars Alexandersson is Heihachi's son with a Swedish woman, who he only had to see if the Devil gene came from him and not Kazumi, Kazuya's mom, which some say is a plot hole since he witnessed her transform before he killed her. Baek and Hwoarang are master and student. Baek grew up with a sick father in a poor family who trained him and gave all his food to his son, which caused Baek to accidentally kill him when he was a child during a sparring session. This guilt haunts him throughout his life, which is why Hwoarang tries to cheer him up whenever possible. However, Hwoarang is a delinquent in the South Korean military who dodged his service to fight on the street. He met Jin Kazama as a teenager and became his rival ever since. Baek's fighting is traditional while Hwoarang adds more flair and dirty fighting. The Jack units, Alisa, and Bryan all are related to Dr. Bosconovitch in the former Soviet Union. Jack and Alisa were his creations, with Jack being a military unit and Alisa being a replica of his dead daughter, while Bryan was a psychopathic soldier resurrected by a competitor of Bosconovitch before he ended up killing Dr. B. Bryan has a rivalry with Yoshimitsu, the head of the Manji clan of thieves who are basically cyborg ninja robin hoods since he was one of Dr. B's best friends. Alisa is in love with Lars, and Jack does his best to be a hero. Kuma II is the son of Kuma I who died of old age in between Tekken 2 and 3. He and his father were trained by Heihachi in martial arts to be his bodyguard, but Kuma II is much more friendly than his father. Panda is the same bear in all the games, but she distances herself from Kuma II since she does not reciprocate his advances because he is too young in her eyes. Panda is Ling Xiaoyu's best friend and bodyguard. Xiaoyu trained under Wang Jinrei and has a notorious crush on Jin. Wang Jinrei trained Xiaoyu and was Jinpachi (Heihachi's father)'s best friend. Wang Jinrei is one of the most powerful Tekken characters since he's able to hold his own with everyone despite not having any physical strength and being over a hundred years old. Nina and Anna Williams are assassin sisters who work in competing groups. They have grown up with a sibling rivalry that turned bloody, and now take contracts from opposing clients to get a chance to kill each other. Nina is more level-headed and works for the Mishima Zaibatsu most of the time regardless of who runs it, while Anna usually works for G-Corp, the Zaibatsu's competitor and Kazuya's company for most of the series. Lei Wulong is basically Jackie Chan and he appears in most characters' stories in some minor capacity. His biggest moments are when he helped Steve discover his heritage and he killed Bryan Fury before he became a cyborg. Roger Jr. and most other animals in the series were the results of the Mishima Zaibatsu's experiments under Kazuya. The original Roger was trained by Armor King I and had children in the desert of Australia, raising his son Roger Jr. in the same fighting style before he disappeared. The player actually controls ROger's mother but Roger Jr. knows the moves, so they work together sort of like Ferra/Torr before Ferra/Torr. Roger Jr. later finds out Roger is still alive but avoiding his responsibilities as a father and a husband, which becomes a running joke in the series. Miguel's sister was killed during an airstrike under Jin's command of the Zaibatsu, which motivates him to kill Jin in Tekken 6 and 7. Dragonuv is not sick, he's just Russian. Leo's mom experimented on Steve before she was killed. Bruce Irvine is just a really nice guy - some say too nice. Julia Chang is the adopted daughter of Michelle Chang, a Native American and Hong Kong descended character from earlier games. Ganryu had feelings for Michelle and later her daughter (another low point) and worked as Kazuya's bodyguard for a time. The other characters either do not have much lore or are just boring. As for the teams, I would say they're fairly even. I want to give a slight edge to Ken's team since he has Kazuya, Jin, Zafina (who possesses the original Devil Azazel), Lee, Lars, Jack-6, Wang Jinrei, and Marduk. Bethany's team gets carried by Heihachi, Devil Jin, and Paul,, but the rest of her cast is not as strong.

His original name was Dean Earwick but fans complained that it was a stupid name and other options were Ryan Lewis, Sugar McGregor, and Leonard Gardner - all names from famous fighters throughout history. He's also British, so I would think he's inspired by either Lennox Lewis or Ted Lewis since it was a choice for one of his names.
9:00 Raven is without a doubt one of my favorite Characters in Tekken, He first debuted in Tekken 5. Here's why he's one of my favorite Characters - By his Black sunglasses and short crew hair cut,, He resembles Blade from Marvel and Simon Phoenix from Demolition Man (1993) - He's a member of an international spy agency, so as a secret agent, His Background, Biography and Age is not known - Not only is he an agent but he's also a Skilled Ninja 🥷🥷 He's one of the more accurate and traditional Ninjas in Tekken as evidence by - His Ninja attire consisting of Black frameless sunglasses, a Black Jumpsuit Vest with Gold Talon designs on the front and Back, Black Leather Pants, Black Boots, Elbow length Fingerless Gloves, matching Silver/Gray Pads on the shoulders of his vest, on the knees of his pants and on his Fingerless Gloves, a Long Black neck Scar tied on the right edge of his Vest and Two Kunai Knives with Hanging black ropes tied on the handles fastened to his back. So like Most Ninjas, He wears all Black ⚫ - His Swift Acrobatics & Agile Maneuverability such as Swiftly Jumping up in the air to leave a scene - Teleportation - Kuji-In Hand signs & - The Traditional Ninja stance where he stands in an Upright posture with his feet/legs together, arms crossed and his Black scar flowing

Dragunov is a great fighter and one of the Russian characters in the Tekken series. By the way, he can talk, but prefers to be silent. And he also loves to sing!
Tekken is great because it looks so serious and gritty from an outside perspective, but once you get into it you see just how goofy it can be. On top of that it's incredibly faithful (as much as fighting game can be) towards the martial arts that it bases it's characters off of.
Steve has a good backstory good pick and fast punches. King is hard to play with but if you read the combo lost spent hours training with it its real fun to play with all the grapples.
She was my favorite to get my cousins tilted. Butterfly stance. I don't remember how it went, but that was a key component. Well, her and Yoshimitsu. Heals, Teleports, Helicopter, Flea..... Those were the good old days. :)

XD It's been great seeing Tekken, MK and other great fighting game franchises on the channel, but I noticed a glaring omission. If you do Tekken content, you need to watch every intro cinematic (from Tekken 1 to 7 and the Tekken Tag 1 and 2, some are old, but there is really great one like the Tekken 5 Intro). Watch for the Home edition, the Arcade one are not necessary. Watch also for Soul Calibur 3 cinematic intro one day.
17:40 He's actually the one who beat the announcer of the king of iron fist tournament, almost killed the boss in the 6th tournament, which he announced. But it turned out to be alive. And he's the main character in the whole story, and now he's gonna kill kazuya in tekken 8.
one thing I love about the Tekken series is that they use real martial arts from all over the world! The styles i'd love to learn are Tae Kwan Do, Muay Thai or Baji Quan.
Lars is way more than cool armor dude. You should watch the trailers of the tekken franchise. Its ridiculous Also Martial Law, Steve Fox and Paul Phoenix (Tall yellow hair) are best friends. Also Miguel's voice sounds so dope in spanish

Yall have to start from the beginning and really do a deep dive of these characters they are really interesting. Including their backgrounds and bios. A suggestion, i would react to a Tekken Timeline video. And even react to all the Tekkens up to 7.
Wow, I haven't played Tekken since Tekken 3. My most used character was Xiaoyu. I don't play fighting games anymore but the only ones I'd play now are Dead or Alive and/or Soul Caliber.
Tough call, but seeing as Ken has all my favorite characters besides Yoshimitsu (and maybe Rocky Jr and Kuma) I have to give his team the win. 😁 Fun video as ever! Definitely have a certain fondness for Tekken, so always enjoy seeing you enjoy it. Cheers!!!
the mishima family is odd, heihachi has 3 sons. kazuya which im sure you already knew, then lars is his bastard child, and lee chaolan is his adopted son. jin kazama is the son of kazuya. just a fucked up family all together lol and baek is the master of hworang.
